I hate to see him go. It will be hard for them to find someone to fill his shoes.

Firt Nourse, then Lindsay- now I know I am getting old- well deserved praise and will be missed- hope the new stuff is even more rewarding

I ditto XelaDave's comment. Well spoken by my fellow chapin. BTW, I started out in Mazate in November 1974, so I made it to Xela a few times for zone conferences.

Traveling around the country you get a sense of the excellence of our local news teams. The local ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox affiliates are all heads and shoulders above the news organizations in most other states. Bruce has been major example of that excellence.

I hope that whatever he elects to do next will be satisfying and rewarding for Bruce and his family.

KSL, go to Philadelphia and interview Vai Sikahema. He would be a great replacement. He is more than just a sportscaster. He would be a good fit here.

I grew up with Norse, Welti and James, went to school with two of their kids. But I really enjoyed Bruce Linsay and when I moved out of the state of Utah, one of the hardest things was adjusting to new faces and different stories from the local news. I hardly watch local news anymore, just the weather and a little sports. Best of luck to Bruce in whatever he decides to do.

Hmmm...Bruce Lindsay can figure out that after 36 years it's time to retire and have some other "life experiences"...wonder what's wrong with Senator Hatch that he can't see that?

Anyway, thank you Bruce for the wonderful years of cheerful, professional newscasting...you'll be missed! Good luck in your new ventures!

An LDS guy announcing in January that he is leaving in the summer...putting 2 and 2 together I have to ask...where is President Lindsay going to be assigned?

Oh, Bruce! This is sad news for me personally and Utah in general. You are without an equal in the TV news stations. We are missing you and you haven't left yet.

I agree that now living out of Utah, I have realized the incredible quality of news broadcasts/newscasters that SLC has! Best of wishes to Bruce, you are one classy, professional!

Young to retire it seems. Enjoying it while you can seems like a great idea Bruce!

Agree with all the above except the jab at Hatch.

As others have opined, this smells like a calling as a mission president. Too bad Bruce never got into politics. He would have been a great senator, congressman, governor, or president. Maybe when he gets back in 3 years.

All that good stuff. Plus, he is really handsome!

I remember growing up watching the news with Dick Norris, Bruce Lindsay, Bob Welti and Paul James. What a team! It is sad to see each retire. As a young boy I once bumped into Bruce Linday on the street. I told him I liked watching him on TV. I still remember his response, "Thank you...Its always good to hear that from a friend." Thanks for the memories!

It's true- Salt Lake has exceptional news operations and KSL is usually the best...the KSL anchors become like quasi family members, from the sound and timbre of their voices to the comfort they provide just being there...
