I hope this goes through, we do need an active 3rd or even 4th party system. This either or political system has gotten out of control and predictable and controllable by money, power, and activist outside of our constitutional system.

We need competition in representation and government decisions just as we need it in the free enterprise of development and growth. We need to break the monopoly of control of our government to put it back in the hands of the people.

The argument of wrongful election process has been proven a mistaken philosophy with the man we now have as president. The 2 party system proved in 2008 that we need a 3rd choice.

Time to breakup the monopoly of a party controlled government.

We can have other political parties, and it has happened in the past. I would argue that the Tea Party is a party within a party, and maybe has now taken over the Republican Party or at least controls or dominates it. So give it a shot if you wish. It will be an up hill climb, though, and take more than one election cycle.

Not smart, people. How many times in recent history have we seen the negative implications of nationwide 3rd party candidate?

We have Ross Perot to thank for 8 years of Bill Clinton.

The two party system has great merit. If you're dissatisfied with both of the parties, then maybe you ought to be active in the one you dislike th least, and try to change it?

Multiple parties turns the process into a muddled mess, a breakdown, and nothing ever gets done except screaming and shouting.

Ross Perot can only be blamed for possibly one term of Clinton,

We currently have a number of parties listed on the ballot, adding one more will not hurt the system.

Blaming Ross Perot? What, did he commit voter fraud and fill out millions of ballots for himself? Last time I checked it was the American people as a collective whole that voted for their chosen candidate. If the plurality chose Mr. Clinton, then it sounds to me like the system worked.

To quote a previous comment with a slight twist, "If you're dissatisfied with [the result of an election], then maybe you ought to be more active in the [campaign of the person you want to win] and try to change [the result]?"
