There was a time when a team as bad as Utah is going on the road to play UCLA and USC would have meant two automatic losses. The fact that Utah sports writers think that Utah even has a chance speaks volumes about just how bad the PAC 12 is this year.
Swoop
Agree but USC is especially inept...the utes have a chance to split but I don't suggest watching it
Your eyes may start bleeding???
the u.... may end up in the sweet sixteen if they keep this roll alive. what are we supposed to call them now that the previous name is not politically correct? i suggest the swoops, glad they are thinking of taking the terrible drum and feather out of their logo. Officially take the crimson out of the school colors as black is the new dominant color,...... kind of fitting, huh? Needless to say that this UTE is totally disgusted with this whole issue and the way a former b-ball strength is reduced to what we see now.
"how bad the PAC 12 is this year".
So that's what the envy trolls are going with this week?
I guess "Utes will never win another game" hasn't worked out (several times now).
As "bad" as you think PAC 12 basketball is, the athletes are bigger, faster, stronger than those the Utes played against in the MWC. It's quite a challenge to play against those athletes week after week, especially short-handed. Glad to see the Utes rising to the challenge.
I'm happy the Utes haven't given up on this season. Obviously they aren't playing for anything other than pride at this point, but I'm proud of them that they haven't given up.
Many didn't think they would win more than one game yet even with the dismissal of their leading scorer, they were able to find a way to get another win.
I hope that it teaches the young players to not give up and just keep putting in the effort. Then next year when we have some better talent, they will see even more success.
Go Utes.
ASU had also recently dismissed their leading scorer plus lost their next best player to injuries last week, so it's pretty sad to be in the situation we're all in.
But my hat's off to the Utes for not quiting this year.
They definately have a chance to get a split in CA as ASU handled USC two weeks ago.
I do wish the Jr High trolls would go and play somewhere else other than these boards.

I would be interested to know how many Ute fans believe this statement? I know of nobody who believes the PAC 12 is a stronger BB conference, this year or last year, than the MWC.
@CougFaninTX
I do not believe the PAC 12 (this year!) is a stronger BB conference than the MWC recently. Neither do I believe the WCC is stronger than the MWC. From the first I felt Coach Rose and the Y BB team paid a high price for "independence" (But not nearly as great a price as the softball team!) I have missed the UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State, Y, and the U (of a couple years ago) classic basketball games. When I saw the Y vs St. Mary's gym basketball game and read the article about the "crowds" attending the Y's new conference games, I longed for the good old days.
Sooner Ute. As admirable as I believe the Utes have played as of late, there is no place to compare the Pac 12 with MWC hoops. It just really isn't that close.
Momentum? Did you say momentum? Lol

LOL!
