There's always some dude who will move the clock to doomsday and beyond based on
religion. Twice or more last year alone. Charlatans, the lot of 'em. But they
try to make a buck off of it. The only people worse than the fools who sell this
stuff are the people who buy into it. By the way, the mayan calendar, which is
the next Y2K/apocalypse type doomsday, is next. See ya in vegas that day, eh?
The doomsday clock could tick for those who feel we should bomb other countries
who haven't bombed us. It could tick for those who ignore global warming and
other environmental concerns because it throws into sharp relief the
interdependence of people on this planet. It could tick for who dismiss anyone
who questions the widening gap between rich and poor as 'class warfare', just as
imprudent prognosticators in previous generations said the civil rights movement
fabricated by communists.

again?
@ Hutterite: Always an opportunity to slam any religion.
Why? If you don't believe, then don't believe. It isn't jusy
"religionists" messing with the doomsday clock. Al Gore could be seen
as a "religious leader". Pagan could be seen as such. Obama, Gingrich,
me, but I presume you mean the "God" kind of zealot, as usual. Was I
wrong?
You know I don't think the majority of those posting here got the point of this
article. It wasn't to discuss the politics of the day, it was to reflect on
your own life and how you are living it. If today was your last day here on
earth would you regret how you lived it?
