A landmark it is and I am glad it will be around for many more generations.

I remember as a preteen worker of 11 going in to the Walker Bank and buying and trading silver Morgan, peace, and liberty dollars for 1 to 1 paper dollars so the weight of $10 silver dollars didn't keep pulling my pants down. We had a reason for our low rider attire and working man's Levi's.

I even had a small savings account in that bank and I never found out what happened to my money I had in it, the bank closed and I had lost my bank book that showed me how much money was in there. PC banking and ATM didn't exist.

The lighted tower I can remember when they installed it and turned on the steady/flashing neon colored lights. Walker Bank advertised and explained what they meant. A community service visible for 20 plus miles any direction as a weather forecaster for those without a TV or radio.

I remember the Mint cafe bar and grill behind the bank who sold home made hard rolls and cinnamon buns smothered in liquid gold, melted whole butter.

Where is a picture of the safe?

And, the photo's should slide their menu bar to the bottom of the page, as to view the pictures.
