Looks like the utey trolls were out late lastnight celebrating thier big victory over WSU. Too busy watching reruns to be trolling I guess. Now that's a first!!! But you have to give the utes credit... that was a big surprise... to pull out the W against a 9-5 team. Congrats to the utes for getting win number 4.
It's very nice to have the kind of depth where you can have different players step up each night.
Noah came out in the second half and was huge. Rose just needed his cougs to be more patient than they were in a cold-shooting first half. (and just get the ball to Noah)
I hope Carlino learns a few things from Cusick. Cusick played with control and poise. His 3's came with the inside/outside game. He had a lot of open looks but didn't take them, he kept feeding Hartsock, knowing his role isn't as a primary scorer.
The first half drove me nuts. Guards stopped feeding Davies and Hartsock. Thank you, Coach Rose, for getting it straightened out at halftime.
Go Cougars!! Great road win.
Playing in the tight small outhouse type gyms is a different experience for the Cougars. They are trying to adjust to that with their play. I think they will improve. The most "massive" facility on the road is probably the Gonzaga gym at 6,000 capacity....wowee. I can't wait until these WCC teams come to Provo...UC San Diego learned that in a hurry...."Toreros"...doesn't that team strike fear in our hearts? Now the Cougars have San Francisco and Santa Clara in back to back home games. Blow the doors off of these teams and get this conference under control Cougars.
Welcome back Roger! And a life saver on Cusic. Now we need to move the second half to start at the first half to be Patient and feed the ball to Hartsock and Davies.
Hartstock is a man among boys.
