In the past twenty years, I have asked hundreds of teachers, parents, and administrators this question, "does standardized tests improve teaching and learning"?
Not one time has anyone said yes. No one has ever shown gratitude for this test helping students to become smarter.
We spend a ton of time and money preparing students for the big test, yet no one says it's beneficial. Some say, it makes students and teachers accountable..(?) Why?
Isn't it the state and feds who are cheating?
