The poll question #2 is stupid and should be removed. The whole article says if the U does not play well on defense they will not win. No brainer. Why even ask. Hays has not played well beause of obvious issues so the defense has to win. Duh!
As a Y fan I say Go Utes!
Go Utes!
Here's hoping the u finishes their season with two losses. Gotta love the direction the football team is headed, an also-ran in the PAC 10.2. Bring the same fire u brought to the Colorado game and u lose for sure.
According to rock, the outcome is a foregone conclusion, so why are they even playing the game?
Maybe his pessimism stems from the fact he's stuck in El Paso instead of somewhere more to his liking, but hey maybe some of the cougar players will be able to wear red today and help the utes pull out a win.
At least seeing the cougars play again would make rock a bit more joly.
Sagarin Rankings:
#29 Tulsa
#50 Georgia Tech
Utah fans have become what they used to despise, conference elitists who can't accept the fact that conference affiliation has absolutely NOTHING to do with how good a team is.
Tulsa can't be any good because they're in C-USA.
Ga Tech must be good because they're in the ACC.
Of course, that flies in the face of Utah getting destroyed by non-AQ teams TCU and Boise State last year, and it invalidates their argument that Utah deserved a shot at the NC in 2004 and 2008.
Tulsa is ranked substantially higher than any of the AQ teams Utah has beaten or will beat this season.
#55 Pittsburgh
#60 UCLA
#64 Arizona
#80 WSU
#83 OSU
In fact, independent, #44 BYU is a lock to be the highest ranked, and probably the ONLY team in the Top 50 that Utah will beat this season.
Good luck to the Utes in their bowl.
Good luck Utah. Play hard and go get yourself a win!
Riddles you hit the nail on the head. The very sad part of it for Utah is that this year was set up perfect for them to make a run at the Rose Bowl. They blew it big time. They are going to struggle here on out in the Pac. Basketball is in the tank and football is on its way to mediocrity.
It's too bad they started this whole switch up the conference mess. They thought the Pac was the dream destination but now looking back, Utah, TCU, Boise, BYU and SDSU would have made for a nice conference that probably would have received AQ status (for however much longer that remains).
Now they are destined to be the lap dog of the Pac. Already being told they can't keep their beloved logo and I'm sure they will be forced to switch their name in the near future.
So here is to the Utah pac 12's (is that their new name? That is the logo I see all over SLC). What you thought was a great thing is really going to pan out to be a disaster.

It's funny how inconsistent Utah fans are about assigning "quality" to a win.
SDSU was a quality win for Utah last season, but SDSU and Washington were not for BYU.
Ole Miss and Oregon State aren't quality wins for BYU, but Pittsburgh, UCLA, Arizona, OSU and WSU are all quality wins for Utah.
Georgia Tech will be a very good win for Utah, if it happens today, but Tulsa wasn't a quality win for BYU; all based on nothing but Ute fan bias.
Looking forward to the illogical spin to follow...

An article about UTAH brings out the tds flies.
WAP!
LOL!
Hey Sunny
Have you read any of the BYU articles they have plenty of Utah posts as usual. Chris B and all the Ute Faithful are always posting smack. So take cover I see a big fly swatter coming your way. WAP WAP WAP take that..........
@Riddles in the Dark
I'm not sure how much stock I put into the rankings. After all, OU was ranked number one at the beginning of the year. But I think you do have a point about the Utes (fans) becoming what they once despised.
After BYU's win yesterday, my Ute friends had one of two reactions. Either it was just pure luck, or Tulsa is 'just a C-USA team.' And somehow, Utah's wins over Arizona and Washington State become more impressive than BYU's wins over Utah State and Hawaii simply because AZ and WSU have a PAC 12 logo on their jersey. Never mind that the PAC 12 is 0-3 in bowl games so far this year.
I like Kyle Whittinham, so I hope Utah wins. But some humility on the part of Utah fans about the PAC 12 would be nice. The PAC 12 isn't that impressive.

We'll see BYU fan inconsistency next year when we hear about how great a tradition Georgia Tech has. Why? BYU plays them next season.

Seriously? How many Ute fans did you poll? Personally, I think Tulsa and Georgia Tech are practically equal, considering their won/loss record and their SOS.
So, in this Ute's opinion BOTH wins are equal. But as you can see there will be plenty of Y fans who think otherwise.
Consistent inconsistency. This is what I expect from Y trolls.
