It will be fun to watch, I hope the weather holds and I can sit in warmth. I am looking forward to a wonderful game and it sounds like I will see two good teams who appear to be evenly matched on paper.
The Hurricane has played some very good teams and know what it will take to win. The BYU has had some good competition in the early going this year and perhaps if Riley had been at the helm for those games the win loss record is different, Who knows !
Anyhow that is why the game is played to settle the question on the field.
Let the good times roll, circa 1979 the band " Cars " waxing nostalgic.
"It was the Cougars' 55-47 loss at Tulsa in 2007, a night when ghosts of the wacky WAC showed up at Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. The defenses didn't have a clue and the offenses scored almost at will."
I agree that was an AWSOME game!
4 hours of offensive, can't beat that!
It will be better than this Bama/LSU low scNoring NC game.
If Bronco respects being scored upon at will, he must really respect Utah's 54 points.
Although I don't expect to see 102 points scored in the bowl game, like the last time the teams played, I expect to see a high scoring game. Perhaps a 38 to 31 final score, with BYU winning - of course.
BYU's success will be determined by our ability to not give up big plays. I wouldn't be surprised to see BYU's defense drop five guys into pass coverage on many plays. Tulsa should not be able to put up any significant rushing yards against us.
Tickets are in hand. I don't have to travel to El Paso. The weather should be perfect. Mid 50's and sunny for kick-off, moving up to low 60's as game progresses. What could be better?
I am the biggest Tulsa fan this week. It was hard to find in SLC but we now are wearing the Tulsa hat all week at work
pac12fan: You might want to keep that hat handy when you attemd the runnin' redskins basketball games, this year, to save you a lot of embarrassment (at least they were the runnin' redskins when I attended in 1968-70).
This could be another high scoring game with how slow and bad BYU's DB's are, and how Riley can make plays with his feet against a less than stellar Tulsa defense. However, Tulsa is more battle tested than the Y is. They have played a much tougher schedule, and while not winning those tough games, they still learned how to play against better competition, where as BYU learned how to play and beat teams the likes of Idaho St, and New Mexico St. None of which helped them prepare for a pass happy offense. I guess we will see this Friday, in an early morning game, on a day most people have to work, and only Y or Tulsa fans will be watching. Should be a very exciting game.
Prairie Dog: unlike you, I am not embarrassed by the men's basketball team. I guess your name fits you. Come out when things are good......
@PAC12Fan
A Ute fan telling everyone he or she plans to cheer for BYU's bowl game opponent is the equivalent of a diary farmer announcing, "This week, I plan to milk my cows."
And we all know how Ute fans will react if BYU wins, regardless of the score. Either:
#1 "The refs won it for them."
#2 "BYU played dirty."
#3 "BYU should have lost. They got lucky just like they did against Ole' Miss, Utah State, Central Florida, San Jose State, Oregon State and Hawaii. The Cougars should be 3-9."
It will be interesting to see which comment is spoken the most by Ute fans after Saturday.
