Congrats...and nuts!
It's been great to see what he could this year with the players we had. Year two would have been great to have had him around. But, for as good as he has been and being the part of some very good programs he never really got his shot. He has it now and with Hawaii moving into the MWC it will be fun to see how he does.
It's been fun for me to be able to tell people that I was on the team where he had his very first coaching job, East Mity Mites 1969. that sure and the heck dates me.
Good luck coach in Hawaii
All the best to Norm Chow!!! He's a class act!!!
I bet the utes are relieved....
Oh, how quickly they forget...
Yep, when you lose your star QB and have no one to turn to.
When you've lost 4 games in a row.
When you lose to one of the absolute worse teams in your conference, at the same time you lose the South Division title, the championship game and let's don't forget the parade in Pasadena.
And now they're losing him too.
Yes, it was a difficult Ute season.
Hat's off to a turn around season but it sure fell short of expectations. Just like last year.
Utah, now you can pick up Gary Crowton. Will Norm Chow going to be OC just like Bronco M. as DC?
Good Luck coach Chow. You'll be missed at Utah and do well in Hawaii. Thanks for this season we wish it were more but understand your position.
Hurtz Donut in Springville talks about the Utes season falling short and going on about what a wasted year Utah had. All the while believing BYU had a great year because they won 8 games against a jv shcedule and will play a no name team in the Armed Forces Bowl.
But the reality is they are 0-3 against teams that play varsity football, with the sweetest score being 54-10. How's that for falling short?
Have always liked Norm Chow. Here's wishing him all the best!
Best wishes to Coach Chow! Go Utes!
@17-14
Way to show that classy side of a cougar fan.
@17-14 Hurts Don't It?
Hat's off to a turn around season but it sure fell short of expectations. Just like last year.

Funny how it works out. A disappointing loss to Colorado to be sure, but Utah ends up with the best bowl game outside of the 2 BCS bowls they have ever been to - 3rd best bowl in the history of the program.
I'll take it.
Good luck, Chow.
I'm wondering if he "has" game or he "had" game? Hope this works out for him because I know it's something he's wanted for a long time. But that's the key, he's wanted this position for sooooo long. It's probably 10-15 years too late. What has he done as an OC since 2007, after leaving USC? His collegiate offenses since then have been far from what they were previously. Also, since leaving USC, name one college quarterback who's playing in the NFL? But if Hawaii feels he can be the new face of their football program at his advanced age, so be it.
Concerning the couple of BYU fans commenting on this board: You are a perfect example of the typical hypocrite in so many ways. Congratulations Norm! Go AGGIES! Go UTES! Go WILDCATS!, and yes go byu, but not really.

@boston
How are the BYU fans comments "hypocritical"? Do you know what "hypocrite" even means?
I'm getting sooooooooo tired of negative comments on here, from all sides. Get lives. Grow up.
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Jesus of Nazareth
Your negative comments flow from your negative lives, and yet, it is the negative attitude that creates those lives to begin with.
You know who you are.
Stop it. Now.
@Duckhunter
In Duckhunter terms, it means to say one thing and than do the other. Your 17-14 friend is full of hypocrisy; taking direct aim at celebrating ill toward a bigger brother. Wishing congratulations to the individual would have sufficed, and that alone would further the byu way.
Re: Utes Fan "Utah ends up with the best bowl game outside of the 2 BCS bowls they have ever been to - 3rd best bowl in the history of the program. I'll take it."
Huh? I would hope other Trolls don't agree with you. 3rd best bowl in the history of your program? I'll let you take El Paso in the winter time. Feliz Navidad, mis amigos!
Re: Civil-- I'm sorry, Dad! I'll try to be better. :-)
So Cal, do you follow football much? Pretty sure Norm left SC a bit before 07 and coached up some kid named Philip Rivers, although not sure the name would mean much to you. Congrats and good luck, you'll be missed here, Coach.
