I know we will need to be patient with the young guys and I'm ready for that but I don't want it to take longer than is needed. I don't want to be patient for the old guys to be benched, Bell needs to be a mentor and come in when the young guys get in foul trouble. Favors has shown enough that he should get starter minutes, Milsap needs to be the 6th man, Kanter will probably take a yr or 2 to develop. Hayward and CJ are better suited as 2's but I rather see both start 2&3 and use Burks and Bell as subs and Milsap and Evans at the 3 when they can.

Defensive overhaul. Glad to hear that.

Towards the end of last year you could see Corbin's defensive tweaks and how effective some of them were.

Keep hearing good things about Burk. Might have been a great pick up.

Hope that stomach flu doesn't go through the team during their first games.

I am so excited to see this team in action. This year will be telling about the kind of potential they have. My two main concerns:

1.Pick and roll defense. I felt this was the main reason we were losing so much last year. I'm hoping we figure it out this year.

2. Outside shooting. As far as I can tell, we really need Hayward, Bell, and Okur to be on the mark from 3 or we will never be able to make teams pay. Maybe Burks has range that we don't know about, that would be a sweet surprise.

I've got my tickets for the preseason game against Portland. I'm very excited to see some basketball!

AK will be back and he will start at 3.

Would that you are right, ed . . . but Yahoo reports that, since negotiations to bring Dwight Howard to the Nets fell through, they are going hard at AK; also, that he is quoted as saying he would seriously consider Sacramento. Nothing about anything going on between AK and the Jazz.

Since his contract expired last June he has said more than once that he really, really would like to stay in Utah, and Kevin O'C has said the Jazz would really, really like to have AK back.

If Jazz do not make him an offer, their B.S. quotient rises; if they make him one and he does not accept, his does.
