Thank you so much for a most insightful article. Having experienced both the "cold stone of despair" and the "cauldron of resentment" I just kept saying, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" to everything you said, particularly relating to women since that is my experience. How forunate your wife is that you understand such things. Or perhaps she is the one who helped you understand. After 40 years of marriage I am still struggling, despite outward appearances to the contrary. You give me hope. Thank you. I enjoy all your articles. You have a different slant about most things that is encouraging and thought provoking.
I hear the sound of millions of pairs of scissors snipping this column for later presentation to newly-married couples or those soon to be married. The beauty of that is that the couple's discussing the column is a step in the right direction in itself!
(OK, maybe not millions, though I'm sure the circulation department wishes it were so...)
