News For U

BYU has contracts with (Helicopter and Macaroni & Cheese Bowls)

Did I miss something, because I could swear that the "Macaroni & Cheese" bowl is the bowl designated for the PAC 12 South division winner?

Yep, here it is:

KRAFT FIGHT HUNGER BOWL
Illinois vs UCLA

Maybe if you're really good, someday, even the Utes might get to follow in UCLA's footsteps.

@sportsfan na whats really pathetic is a horrible team from provo beating their chest about "getting better against wac teams (best league in bcs just ask byu fans, oops not in the bcs just like byu but let y fans tell you and the wac teams they played were all equal to utahs schedule)and lost to EVERY decent team they played and still talkin trash to a team that beat u on your OWN field by 44 pts and u still claim all the to's were self inflicted (but anyone who actually watched the game know otherwise.)now thats pathetic.

Just the OPINIONS,

There is actually no specific designation for any placing PAC 12 team other than the Rose Bowl. The bowl committees make their invitations to their affiliated conferences based on who they think the best remaining affiliated team is.

Alamo Bowl has a $3.175M payout, Holiday Bowl has $2.15M, Sun Bowl has $2M, MAACO Bowl has $1.1M and Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl has $837.5K. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces Bowl pays out $600K.

Maybe if YOU'RE really good, the Cougars will get to follow in UCLA's footsteps.

@ Just the FAX (Your using "Fax" in the wrong context)

1. FAX means to transmit a facsimile (texts or pictures) electronically.

2. FACTS means something that actually exists; reality; truth.

You might want to change your username.

Now onto the topic:

According to BYU's "best friend" ESPN. BYU has contracts with the Kraft's Macaroni and Cheese Bowl in 2013. YAY! a step up financially from the Helicopter Bowl.

Be honest, which bowl would Utah fans be more likely to actually attend?

Sun Bowl

or

Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl

$$$ isn't the end-all-be-all of what makes a bowl game attractive for fans to attend.

You can spin all you want about how much more "prestigious" the Sun Bowl is, but if it is really so "prestigious," how come NOBODY is going?

Dallas, San Diego, or San Francisco versus El Paso? - get real!

By the time Utah finishes paying for all of their unsold ticket allotment, the Utes will be lucky to break even on this year's Sun Bowl.

Unfortunately, you have no concept of what bowl committees consider the "best" team. Here's a clue, it has NOTHING to do with which football team is the best, but it has EVERYTHING to do with which team will bring the most fans and which team will have the most fans tuning in to watch the game.

As usual, Utah fans are so obsessed with money, that it's blinding them to more important factors for a bowl, like being in an interesting place for fans to visit.

Frankly, I'll take Las Vegas, San Diego, Dallas, or San Francisco ANY DAY over El Paso - and so, obviously, would U.

Not one of my many Ute friends is even considering going to the Sun Bowl and it's highly unlikely that any of the Utah fans beating their chests on this blog will be going to the bowl either.

PAC Man, I'm happy for you that you feel so pleased in your own arrogance. However, I tend to disagree with you. I have several friends going to the game, and there are around 20 players on the team from Texas. I can't speak for the Southern California Ute fanbase, but I expect it to be a well-traveled game. Also, I have a friend who played 3 or 4 different bowls while in college, and he said the Sun Bowl was the most fun of them all, and he's excited to be traveling there again this year.

"well-traveled game"??

Don't kid yourself.

The Utes will be lucky if they get 2,000 fans to the game, including the band and cheerleaders.
