Honor Code and the rest of the Pac12 fans. I say that, because you all put up Pac12 decals in your window. By the way, my favorite MLB team is the American League. LOL

The Utes will be OK once they get to the weak part of their schedule, their conference. The PAC 12 is weak.

2-10 against the MWC and 1 of those wins was an OT win.
5-5 against the WCC and their church gyms
5-4 against the WAC. Congrats you have 1 more win than the WAC.

That was more like a rugby game when Utah was on defense, BYU needs to drop them from their schedule if they insist on pac 12 refs on their home floor.

Skywalker, you only think they do. It give you solace to feel assume Utah fans carry losses with them for time and all eternity. We don't. We just look forward to beating the Y again. Doesn't matter when.

Don't feel bad. BYU thumped on another Pac12 team last week. Oregon is better than Utah. However, I do agree that Chris Hill has been there too long.

Thumped by the WCC and laughing stock of the Nation...time for Chris Hill to pack his bags........

    @ Honor Code
...And then you get BYU who loves to thump on WAC and WCC teams...

Seems they also like to thump on PAC12 teams.

    @imacaman and gogetter

If utah is starting a bunch of jc guys during a seson like this one that means there are no freshman worth playing. The assertion that utah is young and has freshman playing and getting experience is false. utah is playing all jr's and sr's and then has absolutely nothing in the pipeline to develop. Tye litterally have nothing. That means they may even be worse next year than they are this year if that is even possible. That means that those jc guys ctinking it up this year will be seniors stinking it up next year with the underclassmen still not getting any experience, and why should they as they don't have any worth giving experience to.

What this means is that utah is going to be very, very bad for a very, very long time. Frankly there is no relief in sight. There are no current players on the roster coming up or getting experience. Tehre are a few recruits but we aren't talking studs here, just good recruits. If utah started all of those freshman next season they would be terrible again anyway with no guaranty they would ever overcome the trauma.

Dennis only wishes BYU still lingers over a set back. Utah has only begun to suffer. UCLA is changing the requirements for their athletes so "that more can attend." That means lowering their standards to Utah's level and taking some of the players that couldn't get into UCLA, Cal ,etc. or BYU for that matter.

I don't think there was anything awful about the game at all. I was on the first row at the game and watched both teams fight it out with a lot of heart. The shooting was bad because the defense was so aggressive on both sides. An awful game is one in which players are being a little lazy or playing without heart. This was a passionate defensive game. As a lifelong cougar, I have to hand it to the Utes for continuing to play hard the whole game even after having so little success this season.

"Ummmm, most of those "juniors" are JC transfers."

JC transfers are brought in to be instant contributors because they already have a couple of years of college playing experience.

Trying to equate JC transfers with freshmen is just plain silly.

"Utah fans get over them [losses to BYU] quickly and look to the next time out."

Don't kid yourself. Utah fans still anguish over "4th and 18", "Harline is still open", and "Hall to George".

BYU fans would love to have the rivalry "finished" as BYUalum mentioned. But I'm sorry, there is way too much satisfaction from the Utah perspective is watching or participating in any BYU debacle in any sport. BYU fans have always harbored the losses and anguished over them. Utah fans get over them quickly and look to the next time out. Utah is awful this year in fact the basketball program for the past 10 years. But, one day, the sun will rise, a new coach will be hired, and the Cougars will once again wonder what happened. It's very easy to look forward to that horizon line knowing in fact that it's coming.

Once upon a time Utah use to have a great Basketball program!! And then you get BYU who loves to thump on WAC and WCC teams and then tell everyone they're BCS qualified or deserve an invite at the NCAA Bracket! Hilarious!!

JC Transfers still have more experience than Freshmen or Sophomores. And why put it it parentheses? A "Junior" is still a Junior.

This rivalry is over...done...finished. Hammering it over a BYU win or a Utah win in whatever sport means nothing anymore. No words written or spoken make any difference! Let it go!

This is hard to understand. I can't see how BYU could beat a PAC team. PAC teams are much stronger and have better talent. I guess miracles do happen.

'Give them a break, it will take a couple years for the new coach to get the program going again.'

Same song, same dance with your last two fired basketball coaches. It's becoming a pattern.

Great job Cougars! You gotta credit the Utes though for managing to make BOTH teams on the floor look bad. BYU shouldn't have played down to their level though. Time for the Muss to hold up their double loser signs!

    Portland Trail Blazers,

Look it up, the Utah team is full of new freshman and a new coach. Give them a break, it will take a couple years for the new coach to get the program going again.

Don't be so quick in judgment and to be ill speaking, what do they even teach at BYU?

The team in Provo couldn't even cover the spread against Utah. If I'm a fan of the team in Blue, I'm deeply concerned about my team because it's clear BYU is not even as good as Cal State Fullterton.

    Good luck in the WCC!

Rose is wrong. It's not a great rivalry anymore. When one team slows it down and plays keep away in order to stay in the game it is not even competitive. That's why all the headlines say it was ugly.

I don't know how it can become a great rivalry again, but I'm glad it's only once a year for the time being. Utah is awful.

I see one byu fan is still showing his/her jealousy by using the term Pac 10.2. Please just accept it. It is the PAC 12 and you weren't invited.

You talk about embarrassing? How embarrassing was that 54-10 beatdown a team from the PAC 12 put on your football team?

  • Portland Trail Blazers Sandy, UT
    Dec. 10, 2011 8:43 p.m.

Utah is an embarrassment to the entire state of Utah and the Pac 10.2

They should have the "UTAH" name removed from their jersey's

BYU will be 2-0 against the Pac 10.2 this seasin and Utah will go 0-2 against the WCC, ironic, right?
