Oh...and while we are on the subject of observing the obscure degenerative nature of college football politics... how about including sports writers who use their positions to create situations that really have no place or nothing to do with developing situations on campuses other than to attempt to guide a situation in the direction that said sportswriter may have wished it to go for his or her own agenda. Like making an issue of 3rd and 4th party allusions about an innocent young woman crying alone in the stands...supposedly not cheering on the QB that replaced her husband. What purpose for maligning two familes over something that no one can really prove actually happened. Journalism in sports truly is "Dead and Gone." This article as well as the article outlining previously referenced material it contained are cases in point...as is any further relevency. Anae and Heaps are both now gone. One needed to go...the other didn't but has...partly due to yellow journalism... neither are coming back so...how about moving on...instead.
This old Cougar wishes Robert Anae all the best!!!! Robert, thank you for all your contributions as a BYU player and as a BYU coach. Best wishes at the U of A, or wherever the future leads you and your family. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Buffalo1 (A long term and -- most definitely -- old fan. Take Care!
anae seems to be just fine in his profession, leave him alone to pursue whatever dreams and schools he wants...good luck robert
Let's bring back Anae...Doman has made him look like a wizzard. Bronco to UCLA...we can hope. With this many jobs open surely someone will take him off our hands. Doesn't anyone want a good coach who does not like four star recruits and only wants to work with walkk-ons. There must be someone. Think of the money it would save on recruiting trips...no need to contact recruits, just take those that find you. Maybe Bronco passed on UCLA because he does not want to face Heaps four times when his PAC team plays the Bruins. Playing USC with walk-ons might be interesting...maybe the scoreboard does has only two positions making 99 the maximum.
Robert Anae, why was Norm Chow ever run out of town? I'm thrilled for Norm, even if he is on the other side. I wish the best for Anae.
Wayne Rout
There's the Wayne Rout I was wanting to get to know better.
Give it up.
Anae was a lot better than byu fans give him credit for.
Bronco should have taken the UCLA job, he needs to jump off that burning ship and swim to safety.
Let Tom Holmoe work through Toms own mess he's created, Bronco never wanted that IndyWAC Conf. in the beginning.
Geeeez Bronco, you need to reconsider, let Doman take over, he's a perfect martyr for the Holmoe cause.
Bronco, all you need to do is change your grey T shirt to "Band of Bruins"
Come back Anae. Your only issue was bone headed calls on key downs. Otherwise that, you were good. Much better than Doman. We miss you.
Robert Anae was good Offensive Coordinator and that was why coach Mendenhall hired him away from Texas Tech, where he already demonstrated his his experience or expertise in play calling of offensive schemes. Just like Norm Chow was dumped Anae meet the same fate, but Chow had an even better record of getting QBs to the NFL as well as coached in the NFL. Time will tell if coach Doman is as good as Anae or Chow as Chow and Anae are of the same offensive mind set (drop back passing QBs) as former BYU Offensive Coordinators Doug Scovil, Mike Holmgreen, and Ted Tollner. Doman's style is different. None of the offensive coordinators mentioned will have a problem finding employment as they have demonstrated their play calling can win games against opposing defenses.
