Remember to old quote crime doesn't pay? Well its still true and if their crimes are recognized or not, they are still criminals and justifies their deportation regardless of tears. Statute of limitations don't exist for illegally entering this country.

Laws create an equality in justice, ignoring laws and wearing blinders to hide from the law is equal guilt of the crime. Those who grant or dismiss criminals from jail are just as guilty as those tried and put in jail.

The best course of action to expedite deportation is to activate the National Guard to search and seek out illegal aliens and detain them as POW's and deport them. As POW's they are foreign nationals with no right to trial or court hearings unless they have committed other crimes in their pursuit to be illegal aliens.

Treat the illegal aliens as foreign invasion and occupation forces that are sent here to create economic disasters which they have done very well. Illegal aliens are not only breaking civil laws of stolen identities to corrupt our financial system, they are breaking federal felony fugitive and tax evasion laws and should be given no quarters.

This is a sweet amnesty for illegal aliens. Immigration law now means nothing unless they commit a truly heinous crime. All lesser crimes are forgiven, including the millions of non violent felonies committed in stealing jobs.

Note how much ink is devoted to the amnesty agenda and only an afterthought supporting enforcement.
This is more of the same from Obama. He is ruling by executive orders and regulations. We must continue to remind ourselves that the president is operating OUTSIDE the checks-and-balances our government is based upon.
To lack the resources to do everything is one thing; to deliberately skirt the law is quite another. Obama has jumped the shark.
This administration's approach diminishes the climate of enforcement and gives non-violent illegal aliens a sense of security. In such an atmosphere, illegals have no motivation to self-deport.
The right approach is a mix of criminals, worksite raids and other collateral arrests to send the message that it is...well...illegal to be here without authorization.

In "Chicago Speak" that means if an illegal has a few bucks, knows somebody, or, will work to elect the right candidate- they are golden. Not only is this Executive Branch abuse, it is blatent vote buying. Illegals as a rule are major consumers of social services spending. All the current administration has to do is "Keep the Gravy Train Moving" and they can buy enough votes to maintain power! At least until they run out of other peoples' money...

The first three posts have got it nailed. Bottom line Obama does nothing unless it rewards him in some way. Absolutley the worst Pres. in history!!

I am a firm believer that Obama must go this is the last straw, giving free passes to the people that are here ilegally, it's putting a strain on our taxdollars. what they need to do is start tax the ilegalls and charge a big surcharge when they send money out of this country. I also believe that if they are aloud to stay they get no foodstamps medical, and must pay for their children to go to school, and pay out of state tution. Lets make it harder for them to want to stay. Also lets put into action closing down the boraders and not leave anymore ilegalls to benifit if they come to this country ilegally.

Illegal aliens can't serve in the military, if they lie to get in, it's a felony. Glad to know our administration knows the laws.

Illegal immigration, identity theft, it's all criminal activity. Do they really believe Americans are this stupid?

This should be called the Obama aunt and uncle clause.

The story has a paragraph that states "illegal immigrants who do not have a criminal record, have served in the military, who came to the United States under the age of 16 or are pursuing higher education are eligible for reprieve among others."

If someone breaks into a house, but doesn't get caught, did they not commit a crime? As a citizen of the United States, this is my "home". These people that have broken into my "home" HAVE committed a crime. But it seems that our Government is turning a blind eye to all of these criminals.

The last two words of the above quote--among others--makes me wonder exactly where the law enforcers will stop. What "others" are they talking about?

Ronald Reagan said it best: "A nation without borders is not a nation". When will our elected officials get the backbone to stand up and do what is right. Enforce the United States' sovereignty.

Jesus and his family were "undocumented immigrants" in Egypt. Additionally, Jesus was a convicted felon. I have found that most anti-immigrant activists have also broken the law at some point, making them criminals. I am hopeful that people claiming to be religious will reflect on this during the Christmas season.

If you think in practical terms instead of religious motives, I would encourage you to refer back to Adam Smith and Econ 101. More open labor markets would greatly help the economy by eliminating inefficiencies, lowering production costs, and helping the housing market recover. Immigration helps the economy whether it is legal or illegal.

I value freedom, liberty, and limited government. Anti-immigration activists are advocating National Socialism. They are using prejudice against Mexicans to increase government, limit freedom, and control markets. It is dangerous to let the National Socialist element get away with faulty logic, as Die Endlösung may be the result.

@Karateka

Adam Smith was talking about legal immigration. Name one Fortune 500 company that was founded by an illegal alien. It's a ruse. Combining legal and illegal, then making a blanket statement is an old debating ploy.

The Bible is full of quotes telling us not to lie cheat and steal or covet, and to obey the laws of the land.

During this Christmas season I would hope that those here illegally follow God and the Churches teaching, and go home and come back legally, so they may live an honest life, and teach their children the ways of righteousness.

In 2009 Gallup published the results of a two year international survey. They reported that 165 MILLION people living in the Third World would rather live in the United States. Pew found that 36 MILLION Mexicans would rather live here, and 18 MILLION of them told the survey taker that they were willing to break the law to do it.
Given the intense pressure we will continue to face as a result of cheap plane fare, cell phones and the Internet, do you really want open borders? Do you really believe what you are writing?
And in light of the intense pressure on our social services, do you really want to add to that burden?

@Karateka, "Jesus and his family were "undocumented immigrants" in Egypt"

I don't think that statement is correct, most of what is now Egypt was part of the Roman Empire at that time, so he would be moving into another part of the Roman Empire.

It is a complete mischaracterization to call us anti-imigration. I am pro imigration and anti illegal immigration.

I do not think that god cares where we live. It is humans that feel the need to claim certain land as their own. Kind of silly considering we all die, and the land really does not belong to any one person. Most of the west was Mexico not that long ago. I have no problem with a man who wants to come here to work.
I think God wants us to share and get along.
Do not get started on rule of law, Wall street ROBS us all of Trillions of dollars, and who has gone to prison for it?

"prosecutorial discretion?" What is this nonsense?

Laws are made to be upheld. If we start disregarding laws then there soon will be no need for laws. Then what do we have...? Anarchy!

The president of the United States swore an oath upon being installed, that he would support and defend the US Constitution and see that the laws of the land are carefully and faithfully executed. Failure to do so by instituting prosecutorial discretion would seem to be a violation of the oath and grounds for impeachment... for him and his Attorney General.

Too bad Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, recently sentenced to 14 years for attempting to sell a senate seat, didn't know about this prosecutorial discretion. He mighta coulda got off.

"...illegal immigrants who do not have a criminal record, have served in the military, who came to the United States under the age of 16 or are pursuing higher education are eligible for reprieve among others." - Article

What!? Some illegals can stay and others can't? Isn't that discrimination? I thought this country was against discrimination.

Those who are here without permission should ALL be deported... regardless of status... whether they've been here for five minutes or thirty years... whether they have no family or a house full. Scat! Shoo! Begone! Get in line and come here legally. There are many millions around the world who would also like to come to America to live and to work. They are in line to do it legally. We cannot betray these millions by providing amnesty to those who sneaked in (and that includes those who came here legally on visas but overstayed, thus becoming illegal).

The bottom line is this... we have no jobs. All our jobs have been shipped overseas. We don't even have enough jobs left for Americans. We have 15 million unemployed looking for work, sucking up billions in unemployment... money we don't have and much borrow.
