In Pneumon.....'s defense I watched the team by Costco play this year and they do use their deep snapper ALOT. Now to no defend him, he was no better than any other deep snapper I saw in region 9. Deep snappers don't go on an all state team.

Normally I don't respond to comments as empty as yours tend to be, but in this case I must. The nationally ranked PV long snapper in question didn't play this year, because he broke his leg at a national combine in the summer. So, no, you didn't see him play and the fact you pretend you did speaks volumes about you.

The fact that he was unable to play is the reason I would not place him on an all state team. Seems to me a kid has to actually play to be considered. However, as I pointed out earlier, there was an O lineman who did play, who is one of the most highly recruited kids in the state, and his omission from the team is laughable and I would say the same regardless of what school he played for.

@ PV long snapper blogger...it might have helped if the team by Costco actually won.

He did play . Watch the PV video after the PV Cedar game on you tube, they interview him. He talks about what great experience it was to play in front of his old school, and how much fun it was. You would have never guessed they lost.

The whole all state selection is a joke. There are boys I watched all year long who did not even make honorable mention. One of the boys who made first team was almost laughable, if you followed the teams.
Wake up, watch the games, don't go by coaches inputs who thrive on names and politics.

The process is driven by the coaches. The coaches nominate, they get their collegues to vote for their players. The Dnews just compiles the data from the coaches polls. It is the same in all sports the teams that go the deeper into the playoffs get more players on the team. The reason is simple there are more coaches in the stands watching the semi-finals and finals and they vote for who they see. If the players have done their part the recruiters will know who they are and where they play. If you have a 5'10 200 lineman on first team compared to a 6'5 250 lineman, who do you think the recruiters are going to go after. Congratulate those on the team and good luck to those moving on to the next level.
