Jay failed to mention Pulitzer-prize winning Politifact as another good source for fact checking.

Fact checking only goes so far. There are many people who won't be dissuaded/persuaded by facts, but will continue to cling to preconceived ideas and opinions.

The truth shall set you free.

Jay Evensen asked "do we really want political lie detectors?." (YES we do) when it comes down to "Lying, Crooked RINO's in todays world." It's about GOP dictators on K Street and their Koch Brother's wealth. Most of those gains have been taken to offshore tax safe havens and deposited in secret bank accounts or invested in up-market homes and hotels. Much like Tom Delay and big tobacco. The Patriot Acts money laundering provisions are very harsh except when he deleted off of it the offshore tax safe havens rule and the IRS. Patriot Act's money laundering provisions, where are they today?. The tobacco industry feared The Patriot Act so Rep. Michael Oxley removed a provision involving money laundering from the bill at the behest of the White House and GOP whip Tom DeLay, under pressure from Big Tobacco. More loopholes that allow qualifying Institutions to still serve as conduits for Tax Evasion that report nothing to the IRS for collection. Is this fair taxing to the poor and middleclass ?. Before we vote, at the polls, ask yourself, do we want to know if politicians are lying?.

My truthful views here Utah.

When Florida Republicans go to the polls on Jan. 31 for their presidential primary in Tampa Florida, they'll award the winner a major coup, 50 convention delegates. By comparison, the first three primary and caucus states Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina total 65, so Florida is by far the biggest early state prize Now for the question Jay Evensen asked "do we really want political lie detectors?." (YES we do) when it comes down to "Lying, Crooked RINO's in todays world." It's about GOP dictators on K Street and their Koch Brother's wealth. Before we vote, at the polls, ask yourself, do we want to know if politicians are lying?. If some Republicans have their way, the Florida winner could spend millions to campaign here, and then walk away with a much smaller haul, maybe only a dozen or 15 delegates, diminishing the importance of the state to the winner. Florida has long been a "winner-take-all" state in Republican primaries, and the state party has adopted a winner-take-all system for awarding its 2012 delegates. But its primary date, Jan. 31, falls into a period when national party rules say proportional-allocation systems are-allowed.

How about a political lie detector from Heaven? Like a bolt of lightning maybe?

Wouldn't be very many politicians left standing after only a week or so, would there?

I would be happy if there was just a way to get money out of politics. Then maybe politicians would have less incentive to lie. But, as usual I am dreaming. Almost half of the congress consists of millionaires. 94% of political victories go to whomever has spent the most money, not who has told the most lies. Romney has the money, and recently he has been willing to tell lies. Double whammy for me.

I have an 83 year old neighbor. Korean War vet. A surgical technician all his life since then. A volunteer for many years helping disabled people.

Now he is trying to stay alive on a total income of $734 a month. We're trying to convince him to seek assistance from VA or some other organization. But help is very, very scarce.

And he's worried that he might be "begging."

I get sick watching this play out while thinking of Orrin Hatch and his cronies in Congress with their free taxpayer paid healthcare and life time pensions. Or the billionaires crying for even more tax breaks. Or the $110,00 cap on Social Security taxes. Then I hear Grover Norquist on TV this morning. Or Karl Malone bragging that he "doesn't pay taxes because I got a good accountant."

Who are the parasites here?

How can you tell when a politician is lying? His lips are moving. Simple enough.

No! But what I do want is one those thought detecting computers that read minds, so I can attach one to every member of the Ward Moral Police and the sooner the better.

I do not think it is so much lying although some is overt and open I think its most knowledge at the time and knowledge after the time.

You can say less taxes and more cuts, but you can't reveal a Cut before the elections over. Then who gets cut. You say Managers and Wasteful Programs, one mans waste is another mans way out.

When I lived in Vegas the Schools had sub contracts with Pizza Hut and the kids ate just fine. The wholesome food goes in the can. Some people will not eat fruit with evan a tiny spot. Then eat one bit and throw the rest away.

Plus the Fat Kid is stoping at 7-11 as in Hawaii to get Pork Hash and a Slurpee.

You can't force Diet you can force movement its called walking around the track and you do not have to dress out. Your pace No Pressure in the circle. Do it A. Don't do it F.

*'First Romney TV ad blasts Obama' - By Mercedes White, Deseret News - 11/22/11

'Critics say the ad uses some of the Obama clips out of context, especially when the president says "If we keep talking about the economy, we are going to lose."

It appears that in that instance, Obama was quoting an aide to then-2008 opponent Sen. John McCain (sic) That might be beside the point though because...'

You may have found a new growth industry, imagine the number of jobs it would create if we actually made them take a polygraph test. You would also create about 500 new openings in Congress when you replace those who fail the test, which would pretty much be all of them.

Democrats would support a political lie detector because we deal in facts. But republicans would never support it. Even when you present them with facts, they will say they don't trust the data no matter where it came from they conclude the guy on that trashy excuse for a news show is telling them the truth even though they don't provide back-up to their claims. They're a joke.
