Inefficient and expensive maybe. But I see the border fence in small measure as representative of the rule of law. We welcome immigration but wish it to be done legally. We must enforce the law or change it, we can't afford to selectively ignore some laws. If the fence is built with donations there can be no harm done to law abiding citizens. I would rather pay for a fence and other measures designed to protect this country, than pay for tens of thousands of violent criminals here illegally. Here in California a very large percentage of our prison population are illegal aliens. We must take steps to encourage legal law abiding immigrants, and discourage those who ignore and flaunt our rules.
