We lost to the three teams with a winning record. This is one of the reasons it is really difficult to know just how good this team is. Good news is that if we beat Hawaii and win our bowl game we will likely end up in the top 20-25 range which will be something to build on next season.

Pish Posh. The Y's season was disastrous! Holmoe should be fired for the direction he took the Cougs from his knee jerk reaction of jealousy towards the Utes PAC-12.

The Y would have been better off staying in the MTW and negotiating from that position with a better bowl results at the seasons end, and possibly not loosing stellar recruits.

Forget this ESPN contract stuff, patience would have afforded the Y a greater outcome that than the results of this year.

Bronco, should have bolted when he could have and not take the year extension contract they threw out at him to stick around to see this mess through. He could possibly be coaching his alma mater with a 800K 900K salary.

Disastrous to say the least. Clean up Holmoes mess and fix it soon before damage gets even worse.

@BleedRed: Why do you say the season was disastrous? 'Cause we got beat by Utah? Well I've got news for you, if BYU had stayed in the MWC they still would've played Utah and TCU this year. This year was better than last and I at least got to watch every game here in SC, can't say the same for last year and the MWC tv schedule, or even what the Utes have now in the PAC. Not able to watch their games. Don't think we lost too many stellar recruits from the Indy move either. Just sounds like you woke up and ate a big bunch of sour grapes.

I would consider losing to your biggest rival 54-10 a disaster but some people think it is a great season. BYU getting beat 54-10 was like the Black Night in Monty Python having his legs and arms cut off and proclaiming "it's just a flesh wound". I'm sure this has something to do with the USA celebrating mediocrity by holding graduation ceremonies for moving from elementary school to jr. high school. Oh look at the, the cute little band of little brothers just fumbled again.

As a Utah State fan, I can't believe I am actually saying this... I want BYU to beat Hawaii. (It gives us a chance for a bowl game)

Go get 'em, zoobs!

Yep and somehow being blown out 2 weeks in a row and beating Wazoooo in OT is somehow a stellar year. You Utesies are just as deluded as ever. Oh I forgot you have that monster matchup against the Buffs that have national implications coming up, stay tuned....

Jealousy lol. Utes fan are so full of themselves. Name any decent team(besides BYu) that the UTes have beaten this year. the only other team they have beaten with a winning record is M State high school. You act like the Utes are on the verge of the NC and are talked about around the nation like LSU and Alabama. The remaining Ute schedule and past few weeks have been nothing but patsies. That's the only reason the Utes have a winning record.

This article is just a look at the season - no big deal. Over a number of seasons now, not just in comments to articles about BYU but at games it is interesting to see the atmosphere of hatred for BYU here in Utah, it seems to be more than just good ole rivalries.

In comparison I also read the article about the U still having the possibility of going to the PAC12 Championship game - good luck to the U it'll be good for the whole state. While some BYU fans have commented on that article and there was a little negativity, most wished the Utes well. (admitteldly I read very few articles about the U)

Why is there such hatred toward BYU that goes beyond rivalry in this state? I have to figure many are from LDS persons so is it something beyond the religion issue? It would be interesting to understand this better.

As a Cougar fan, it was a very disappointing season. The loss to the little team up north ended the season. A blow out at home of such epic proportions is hard to recover from. Then to lose the only other meaningful game at TCU was a total season ender. To beat up on lesser opponents like Idaho, Idaho State and New Mexico State is just embarrassing. I will know next year not to emotionally buy into all the pre-season hype. This team has proven nothing to me this year.

Looks like this thread (and the typical BYU fans assessment of the season is---"Yes, Utah humiliated us and we ran from the LES in tears and holding our ears during the middle of the third quarter. Yes our players quit during that game and slammed their helmets to the ground like petulant adolescents and no, we haven't really played any kind of schedule at all and we did play 7 home games and only 5 road games--but on the other hand, Utah really hasn't played that tough of a schedule either....so..."

Pipes--you gave an honest, grown mans take. You should be proud of yourself (if not your team so much).
