How does JW IV number of carries compare with Hunter and Monroe? Is he getting it on more carries or more yards per carry?

Kam, I think your defensive stats are incorrect, also. Pretty sure our defense is allowing 97.3 yards per game rushing. However, we're only giving up 2.9 yards per carry on defense, which is best in the conference, along with a conference best 5 rushing TDs allowed (second place is Oregon with 11). Not sure where that ranks nationally, but it's pretty impressive considering the backs we've faced, i.e. USC's Curtis McNeal (0 TD) and Marc Tyler (1 TD), Chris Polk (0 TD), Isi Sofele (1 TD), Ray Graham (O TD).

Also - White is in TOP 5 in rushing in NCAA now - only 91 yards out of being #1. It was also good to see another great running back Turbin from Utah State at # 11 in the nation.

We will be in our regular Season Ticket section with friends and family watching White get the rushing record against Colorado - I think the entire line and offense will take it upon themselves to blast White into the record books before the Bowl game (and possible PAC 12 championship game - at least a chance to get there). White - you are awesome - and thanks for being so gracious to my son after the last home game and giving him high fives and for Terrell Reese for giving him his gloves - as a 12 year old that was something he was beaming about all week. Great class act by the players - always a great time being a UTE!

    @motorbike

    You are correct, here's Utah's PAC-12 2012 opponents:

Pac-12 home games: Arizona, California, USC, Washington State

Pac-12 road games: Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington

    Mark it down...

White gets 200+ yards against Colorado which has the #97 rushing defense allowing 192 yards per game.

This is a massacre waiting to happen, just like our other rivalry game.

    Go UTES!!

    KamUte -

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the Utes don't play Stanford or Oregon again next year. I believe they play the very same teams but just flip home field. Then they switch North opponents the following season.
    Again, not positive.
But your point still remains, how exciting is it to be a Ute fan? ...now AND looking ahead to next years team.

5th in the nation in rushing. Averaging 4.9 per carry with 14 touchdowns.

Utah is 6th in rushing defense at only allowing 64 yards per game.

Also only allowing 254 in passing yards. Not bad for a passing conference.

Where would we be without White and where would we be with a mediocre qb?

Excited for this year but even more excited for next season with Travis Wilson coming in with Wynn (hopefully) healthy and Hayes as an experienced backup with all the studly, tall receivers coming in, we will rock.

Next year having BYU, USC, Arizona, Oregon, Utah State and Stanford (not certain about Stanford) coming to SLC, we will have the toughest games at home. Also, most our defense and offense back. White will continue to roll.

If The U even had a halfway decent Quarterback, White wouldnt be getting those numbers. just sayin

White is number one in the country in 4th quarter rushing!

Don't get ahead of yourself Chris B.
I'm all for hoping but the U still has to win a game, have two other teams lose and then they'd need a pretty miraculous effort in Eugene in order to get to the Rose Bowl.
I'm just happy the guys have never given up...that definitely includes the coaches.
Anything's possible but lets just cheer the guys on to a win over the Buffs and see what happens after that.
    Go Utes!

If there was one penalty I was okay with on Saturday it was the one thrown on him on that late hit. He had every right to be upset with that and if he hadn't reacted that way, I doubt they would have called the penalty on the other guy.

    Clap for the Wolfman!
John White is the best single season running back ever at the UofU. I loved Popcorn, Eddie Lewis and Eddie Johnson, Carl Monroe and Chris fm, but nobody has come close to saving Utahs bacon as much as this guy and in a big time conference to boot. He should be All Conference and an All American candidate next year.

Will Chow keep giving it to him until he gets the 130 yard mark? I hope so, I want him to break it in the regular season, he deserves it. The guys got fire and plays with passion. He seriously is the reason we are at 7-4 and have a possibility of going 9-4. What a great season this has been. I kinda like being in the Pac-12.

John White IV - what an amazing RB. 5'-8", 185 LBS - and the majority of his carries between the tackles. There's not a tougher RB in the country, what a heart this kid has! Where would Utah be without him? And kudo's to the O-line for making it happen.

I don't see any way Colorado is going to stop him or even slow him down enough to deny him the record. Especially with the game being at home. It is going to be awesome to be there watching his performance. We're going to be howling in the stands a lot on Saturday!

John White does it again! This season is one White miracle after another. What this guy is doing, if you understand football, really is miraculous.

I believe this is the fifth game with more than 30 carries for White. What a workhorse. Whittingham said this guy is the toughest football player he has ever coached.

White will do whatever he is asked to do and values his team. Take notice and learn what a professional does at the collegiate level.

    U 90
Utah's running game with White is better than anyone expected. Interesting comparison, except that White is virtually the Utes only rusher. White has 1377, but the next closest rusher is Dunn with 136. Yes, DiLuigi only has 543, but Alisa has 404, Nelson has 379, Quezada had 268, and Kariya has 247.

BYU is using more than one rusher, as the U did last year with Wide and Asiata. Neither reached 1000, but between them they did.

Yes it is taking 3 rushers at the Y to equal White's totals. And the fact that everyone knows who will be carrying the ball for Utah, makes his totals very impressive.

U 90, nice! White will be 1000+ yards ahead of him at season's end.

All the geniuses (Duckhunter. sammyg) said Utah had no running game in August. Luigi is BYU's leading rusher with 457 yards on the year.
