congrats to RSL on a great season. They played tough and never gave up through adversity. I am growing tired of MLS turning into the MLB. You can't allow one team to continue to get international star after international star. If we want to see LA in the finals every year, then keep it up MLS.

Another L.A. team knocks another Utah team out of the playoffs.

Starting to sound like a broken record.

Fun game to watch. RSL created many chances. Can't fault RSL for their play. It was a game Russell will want to forget- pretty much responsible for the last two Galaxy goals. I thought Beckham and Keene played very well. Tough to stop them.

RSL just needed more time to work as a team to get their speed up in their passing game, have a full defensive back line, and maybe one player to step up. Morales did some fantastic things. We overcame a lot of adversity, injuries, etc. this year.

Enjoyable game to watch. However, the PK was poorly called. I hate when officials let players get away with Drama.

Keep it up RSL. Next year champions league again.

Satch could not be more wrong. It is the Jazz and Angels fans mentality "how everything will be all right" Or "just wait for a healthy squad". The fact is simple. The regular season has become meaningless. Houston making the Finals? Someone will have to prove to me they would have predicted that in March. I complained when Robbie Keane was signed by LA, how RSL did nothing to improve this squad and get another Goal Scorer. Yes they had allocation issues. Certainly a MLS vet or even a top notch USSL or Division 1 Goal scorer could have been signed.

This Defense was not air tight as in the past. It was not only Nat being out. Robbie Russell lack of pace and agility can no longer be covered up.

This Management and Jason was not proactive. The Better squad won. I am proud of the effort of the guys to get back into the Semi Finals after a trying year and Jason did a good job keeping the ship together.

However, do not be fooled. Some changes are needed next Season.

Let's face it, when it came to near misses they equalled out for both sides since Keane also hit the woodwork and he and Barret had a couple of shots not go in.

Two consecutive road wins in 4 days are too much to ask for a team that was down a man and had another practically limping around, against the Galaxy that was too much to ask. It wouldn't have mattered though since L.A. played such inspired soccer it wasn't even close.

Anyways, if this was payback for their MLS Cup loss to RSL in '09, things are even now and it should be an interesting matchup at this point going forward.

good season!

I was upset by the penalty in the box that resulted in a penalty kick and goal. However, Johnson's take down in the box should have been called so I can't complain too much about that.

RSL had spurts of good play but their effort lacked intensity. I'd love for Espindola to work on his right foot and on finishing in the off-season. He's incredibly quick and creates a lot of 1-on-1's with the goalie, but lacks the skill to finish.

As for RSL bringing in some big stars, I think you're forgetting the market they play in. LA can afford those contracts. RSL (and every team outside CA and NY) cannot.

Tough end to the season. RSL bounced back well after the first and seemingly awful PK (from the limited angles shown on ESPN it looked like there was no contact and Gonzalez should be suspended and fined).

RSL nearly took the lead or evened it up, but found the post.

Here's to a strong season.

Deserved win for LA...Good fight by RSL...

Cheering for L.A. in two weeks because if they do not win it all, MLS will again loosen its rules on DP's and allow L.A. to throw more money at buying the title next season.

Proud of the guys for having a good season, but Kries and company need to make some improvemnet this off-season.

The first half was good, LA conceded the middle to us and we gave them a hard time. At half LA decided to take the middle away and we didn't adjust very well. Midfielders were usually double teamed instantly and when Morales or Johnson would try and dribble to a better location they would be quickly dispossesed and the quick give away would leave the back line exposed. Late in the game Morales started looking for the ball out wide and we started to break them down a bit and get better chances, but by then it was too late.
Excited to see us in the CCL next year and I think you will see a couple of new faces next year. I don't think this team needs to be overhauled by any means we are still a young team really, but I think we could use a little more depth on the back line and our back-up forwards to step their game up.

L.A. won everything, kudos to them, this was their year.
I hope we get new players and improve our way to treat the ball, our passing game is too slow and predictable. Our defense had many holes this year, we cannot depend on individualities, we need to go back to the team mentality,.
One word about our coaching staff, why Wingert was assigned to the mid field?
He provided a big free land for de Galaxy attackers in the third goal.

great season, guys, considering all the drama and trauma. Happy holidays and we'll see you next year!

@hoghead what are you talking about? The big spenders (Seattle, NY, and LA) are yet to win a title in the designated player era. The big spenders have lost in the play-offs every year.

@toddfromsantaana a lot of the MLS journalists were calling KC and Houston dangerous teams early on in the season

As a Galaxy fan subjected to the thrashing loss RSL gave the Galaxy early in the season while freezing in the pouring cold rain, this game makes up for it and some!

I find it funny some of the cry babyness here from RSL fans suddenly. Look, your team is good, in fact I'd argue it's one of the best in the league despite the fact that LA pays more for it's payroll. Please, show a bit more dignity then that for the sake of your team. Your team the last few years is normally the best, just not this time. I have no doubts they'll be back next year with a fire in their bellies. Until then...GO GALAXY!!!

A couple of shots either way that game could've been different, but my hat is off to LA for they pulled it out when it mattered, here's to next year, maybe next time RSL wins 3-1

I know Milojthatch you guys have a better team. I have always been fans of Bruce, Landon, David and Robbie. It will be easy for me to hope you guys win the title for the 3rd time. Home Depot is a great stadium I have been there. It is not sour grapes, I did not whine on the penalty from Andy. I am concerned more with improving our Defense and another scorer up front so we can be back with a chance at you in the Conference Finals next year.

Sad to see people whining about losing because the other team "buys" championships.

What, and the players on your team play for free? It's professional sports. If you want to compete year in and year out, you have to pay for the best players. Deal with it.

Kudos to Jason Kreis and Garth Lagerway who again assembled a collection of less-than heavily known collection of players and molded them into a fine team.

Thank you for the great season!

Great Season RSL, I had no clue it started, or even ended for that matter. Soccer is such a great sport! I can get into it when kids play it, but it just doesn't do it for me, sorry. I know it is probably my loss, but it is boring in my mind unless you are talking WORLD CUP Semi Final & Final. Kind of like what MLB has become.

Then again Major League Baseball did itself in with me by greed, steroids, and being so lustful over money they skipped a World series back in what, 94? That is when I decided, I've Had Enough! Same with the NFL, they let these losers who fight dogs, and do drugs, and get away with murder, shoot themselves, sell drugs, traffic drugs, prostitution, and all that continue to play and return, who needs it, I DON'T! Hats off to the exceptional players who respect and love the game and the fans & History of the game.

I guess I should Try and like Soccer, you don't hear about them getting arrested for stuff like the above. I'll give it a better effort next Year! Way to go RSL!!!
