Strong work, Girls. Wow nice to see these girls not only grab the title but to win out through the toughest bracket.

Sweeping PG, taking Lone Peak ( reining State champ ) in four and sweeping Lehi in the finals, in essence you beat up three #1's because these three tied for first in there region.

The coin toss put PG & Lone Peak in your bracket and then facing Lehi as the final hurdle. That has to be some kinda of tourney record.

All Hail Davis !

So much fun to watch these girls this 2011 season. My daughter played volley ball for the Davis Darts and we were huddled around the computer watching, but mostly listening to the live internet feed all afternoon.

Excited by what was happening so much my wife and I headed down to UVU to watch the finals.

Who to beat 3 #1 teams in one day all from the same region, yep PG, Lone Peak & Lehi all had tied for 1st in there region and Davis had PG & Lone peak in there pool and then faced Lehi for the finals.

The Darts knocked out PG in straight sets first, then Lone Peak in four sets and swept Lehi in three set's for the State Title.

The cool part about all of it is they are largely all juniors with there best setter as a sophomore.

Lookout 2012. just sayin.

Come on Davis faithful, Salvo comes out of retirement, coach's some very talented and scrappy girls to a Title that has not been in a Davis trophy case for 36 years and crickets from a huge sport minded community is all that is in these blogs.

The real champions are those who do not need or seek praise, they have all the accolades they need.

Clear eye's full hearts that is perfect ( Stolen FNL phrase )and that is all Salvo asked of these girls.

Imua Wahine Davis Darts.

Great job Davis! Beating the top three region 4 teams back to back to back and only losing one set is a dominating performance.

Congrats to Davis as they are a great team. I think Lone Peak returns most of its team as the Knights were very young this year, PG has some top players returning including the Daniels girl. Lehi might get hit the hardest by graduation, but still return Bree Bailey. So if Davis returns a lot of its team, next year's tournament should be at an extremely high level again. You have to give the Darts credit, they ran through the Region 4 gauntlet. Also impressed with T-Ville which took third and Fremont which took Lehi to the brink in the quarterfinals. Region 1 truly earned its stripes this year.

Major props to Coach Salvo for earning her third title, Coach Ingersoll for getting the Pioneers over the hump to the championship game, Coach Meyer, whose Lone Peak teams made eight straight trips to the finals to have that streak broken by Davis in the semifinals (but nine consecutive Final Four appearances at the large school level is incredibly impressive) and Coach Kaelin for leading Taylorsville to another solid finish. Great competition with great coaches at the 5A tournament!

Good job Lady Darts. Good job Coach. I always hated watching your car drive into the neighborhood with all that Viking stuff on it.

Congrats to Coach Salvo and the Darts!

It was amazing to watch Lori (Parrish) Salvo dominate (with a capital D) in the mid-70's...and it was sweet to see her replace one of her own state titles 36 years later.

Keep up the great work, Darts!!!

Technically, if volleyball was played in the fall back in the day, it would be 37 years since Davis last won if their coach graduated in '75 because her senior season would have been in '74.

I know it makes no difference at all to the outcome, just makes it 1 year sweeter.

Congrats, Darts!
