Good job Tigers!
The score was a blowout but it never felt that way to me. Grantsville played
hard, hit hard and moved the ball at times. Hurricane played great. Im glad
they had a hard fought game like this heading into rice eccles. Now, should I
be happy or sad that JD lost? I was really looking forward to that game, but
quite nervous at the same time. Good job region 9, great job tigers!
Congratulations Tigers. Way to represent region 9. Good luck against Spanish
Fork. I believe I see a Cedar vs Hurricane rematch in the future. Should be a
Im from logan, wife is from hurricane. Were having a pretty good year.
Careful with spanish. They gave Logan a tougher fight than we wanted. The
score didn't show it but that was a tough game. The Spanish qb. is jeckell and
hyde. He'll make some amazing passes and then whyff on a pass here or there.
Anyways, it won't be a gimme. I think Hurricane will get it done tho
I'd have to agree with HurricaneFan;Grantsville moved the ball better than
most of the competition this year and they had some great defensive players a
well with some good hitting on their defensive side. Also to a large extent
Grantsville continued to play hard, even when the game was pretty much out of
reach making it a fun game to watch. Congratulations to Hurricane though for
really outplaying them in every facet of the game. Offense did a very good job
of taking what Grantsville's defense was giving, and Hurricane's defense did a
great job of taking away their running and passing game. I suppose all the hype
about region 9 being the toughest region in 3a has proved prophetic. Congrats
too, to Cedar & Desert Hills winning their quarterfinals game. Tha't is
really cool to have 3 region 9 teams in the semi's.
I heard that no team has returned a kickoff or punt against hurricane this year.
Is that true? That would be a huge reason for their success. No substitute for
good special teams coaching.
@Jo Momma Yes many punt and kickoff returns but none for touchdowns. There
has been 65 kickoff returns against Hurricane for 808 yards (an average of 12.4
per return) and 20 punt returns for 131 yards (6.6 yards per return). Probably
more information than you wanted but there you have your answer.
I noticed last week we only got one (maybe two) chances at kickoff returns,
their kicker usually booted it into the endzone, he has a good leg! Nothing like
field position! No returns all year? That's truly amazing!
@jomammaSounds like you're trying to jinx the Hurricane Tigers so
your Redmen can benefit? Not cool...
Notice Granstville (northern team) vs Hurricane has an article, JD and SF both
northern teams have an article, and DH vs Stansbury (northern team) has an
article. However no article for cedar vs Delta (both south of Utah county).
And it can't be because of distance. They made it all the way down to
Hurrincane to cover grantsville. Maybe you can see why region 9 is sick of
being thought of as unimportant hill billies. Some people from region 9 are
pounding their chest, but deservadly so. IMO
It was a great game. Big plays by many playmakers. As a fan, I loved the
Jumbotron! Thank you to "The Studio" for making that the best replay
I have to agree with whiteshoes. The jumbotron was amazing...can we put it
permanently on back of the Ace Hardware building? jk Thanks to those
responsible. The boys played great...keep it up! We love our Hurricane Tigers!
Congratulations to Hurricane, I guess there was no need for an article on Cedar
and Delta. Wow really
It is very disappointing not to have an article for the Cedar Game. Really a
lapse in journalism. That said I would like to thank the DN for the games they
do cover and being able to check scores on my phone while I am at the game.
Next time just contact the Cedar High English Teacher. I am sure he/she will
email you a pretty good article.
You would think after these comments they would put in an article. Maybe they
got lost on their way to Delta.
