Good job to both teams. They both put up a great fight and it was exciting to watch. I would just like to recognize McKale Simpson. She has been an asset to the San Juan program by playing consistently and with a smile on her face no matter the situation. She has lead the team all year by putting the ball down and helping her team stay positive. You can tell she is a leader and that her teammates look up to her. She deserves first team in my opinion!!
Shout out to the San Juan girls for an incredible showing in the state Tournament. That is a fantastic program that knows how to win. Great job Coach Moon and team.
"The Richfield team was well deserving of the final victory, as the Wildcats were the only team to go undefeated through region play (8-0). Talent is abundant on the Richfield squad and the championship was the result of a full team effort."
Really D-news? Shouldn't statements like those above be attributed to someone? Someone other than the writer?
Worth the trip to Orem to watch Richfield. Once the Wildcats beat Enterprise for the first time in three tries in the semifinals it was a done deal. No offense to San Juan, they played a great match and have a great program with lots of big stage experience, but the better team won this round.

TEAM not PLAYERS. Players make a team. A team does not make players. Congrats to the Richfield Team!
