PV will beat SC. Too bad neither team is going to the playoffs they both would be going in any other region but Region 9.
It's playoff time in 2A. Thanks to all the teams for a fun year. Now let's have a great playoffs.
Enterprise/Emery- Probably the most intriguing matchup of the week. The Wolves have been playing really good the past 3 weeks (scoring 40+ points the last 2), while the Spartans have struggled the past 2 games (allowing 40+ points/game). I humbly recend my statement in an earlier post that Emery could beat Enterprise & give this game to my good friend carver & his little Wolf Pups at home. Enterprise 35 Emery 24
S.Summit/Grand- The Wildcats will be way too much for the Red Devils. The SS JV will get a little playoff action in the second half. SS 42 Grand 7
Richfield/ALA- Richfield has been playing pretty good as of late, while ALA has struggled all season. The Wildcats win this one without much trouble. Richfield 28 ALA 7
N. Summit/Kanab- The Braves build off of big win last week at the expense of the Cowboys, who have struggled the past couple weeks. The Cowboys do get the prize for longest road trip though (373 miles). NS 35 Kanab 14
Good luck to all the teams.
i think that beaver is going to win the whole thing!
Playoff time!!
Enterprise/Emery - Enterprise has been playing great since losing the close game to Richfield. On the flip side Emery peaked a little early and has struggled the last few weeks after playing fairly well against Millard. Enterprise 34 Emery 13
South Summit/Grand - SS has really picked it up a notch the last few weeks. Even if they didn't play much these boys know the playoff feeling after reaching the finals two years in a row. SS 27 Grand 6
Richfield/ALA - Richfield has been showing improvement over the last half of the season. They get one more win before running into Millard. Richfield 27 ALA 7
NS/Kanab - Call me crazy but I see an upset brewing. Bucky's boys ride into Coalville and round up a victory. Kanab 26 NS 14
Region 9 is the exact same thing as Region one,
With a solid Top team, Hurricane, even more dominant in there region and classification then Fremont is.
But all them good solid teams that are not making the playoffs is not because of the amazing region, its who got hot at the right time, and who won because luck of the draw, if Hurricane wins it all, then that can be the best regoin, but you dont have solid teams up and down the region, your just mediocore so all games are super close, like region 1.
Northridge comes back against Davis and plays awesome, and everyone thinks there a team to recon with?
Example of this, Jordan is top 5 team all year right, boom they get whooped by Brighton, and all sudden, if they lose, they would have to play WJ again, and if they win they will be the #4 SEED playing Fremont!

Beaver has the toughest road to a title of any contender. Most likely they get South Summit next week and if they get past them then most likely Manti. Two very tough games to just get into the finals to play probably SJ or Millard.
Bear, if you don't want a tough road to the title game, they'll have to win more games in the season.
Just remember when the Giants won the superbowl a few years ago... All the games were won on road.
I never said they couldn't do it but that it will be a real challenge to beat those teams. But they do have an advantage over the Giants they get South Summit in Beaver.
I think it would be crazy if Alta didnt win by at least 21 points thursday... Last I heard CW had 7 freshman and 5 sophmore starters. Doesnt Alta have 18 senior starters? That experience alone should be worth 3 touchdowns. I also think Jordan needs to throw more, any team can put 8 in the box and stop that 9th grade running threat but I havent seen him throw very well all year.
First off, Enterprise and Emery have the toughest road to the finals. Not saying either team will get there. I don't think either team want's to play the other. This game is by far the hard road game of the first round. Yes it's at Enterprise but Enterprise is with out their starting qb.
Enterprise 24 Emery 14. Dustin Tullis will fill in fine for Jake Jones but the rest of the wolf pups are good. I don't think Emery can run the ball against Enterprise.
Richfield 38 ALA 6. Richfield flipped into a gimme game here.
South Summit 48 Grand 10. Bottom four team against a top four team.
North Summit 35 Kanab 7. Kanab gave up five games ago. What's going on at Kanab? They are a lot better than they have been playing.
my 2A picks
Emery
South Summit
North Summit
Richfield
Fremont has only given up 24 points in region play to Bingham's 66, Lone Peaks 58 and Alta's 43. Anyway that is the way it is now Bingham still has to play Pleasant Grove and that PA number might be 76 by the end of the night. Good Luck Bingham. See you in the playoffs -maybe? Oh and if you do come north be sure to bring your best. We don't want to hear any excuses.
Go Fremont!
And fremont gave up 23 to east:)
Region 9 Final week
Hurricane 34 Canyon View 0 Could be ugly to watch Hurricane JV will get a lot of reps in this game.
Pine View 26 Snow Canyon 24 Pride is on the line PV will make the best of a very poor season.
Cedar 26 Desert Hills 21 Cedar will make a statement that it is better than their record shows. DH will struggle to put points on the board. Thus creating the dreaded coin flip.
I think the real challenge of the week will be to predict the coin toss.
Time for the 2A Playoffs to begin and the win-or-go-home attitudes to take hold. I love this time of year and hope that the teams all play their best and have no let downs. On to the games:
Richfield/ALA: Richfield is coming on strong towards the end of the season so I don't see any problem with them winning this big. Richfield by 4 TDs.
North Summit/Kanab: Kanab was a scary thought at the beginning of the year, but lately seems more like an after thought. No trouble for NS in this one. NSHS by 3 TDs.
South Summit/Grand: Grand has had a couple rough games to end the season, and this only adds to the sorrow. SS has a lot to play for and the thoughts of Porter will be with everyone (get will soon friend)! SSHS by 4 TDs
Enterprise/Emery: By far the most interesting match up of the 4 games. First time meeting. Emery must travel and Enterprise is a wall against the run. The Wolves' 2 inside LBs seem to read better than a college English Professor. EHS by 2 TDs.
East will take 4A. Take that to the bank!
