Bachmann is a little late. Cain surged ahead when he spoke out against Perry on the issue of illegal aliens, so it smacks of a Hail Mary pass.
But she gets points for talking a bit about the lack of control regarding sponsorship and guarding against immigrants becoming public charges. That has been part of her message all along. She failed to say it loudly, but it is an important part of the social dialog. Far too many immigrants are tapping into social services. (And I'm not talking about illegal aliens here.)
The more the candidates give themselves permission to talk about these issues, the better off we are.
By far Cain has been the most outspoken on the immigration issue. His candor is one reason people like him.
