Though they are 2A, I think people ought to really look at San Juan and Manti in the rankings and Delta in the rankings from 3A.
I have to agree with San Juan
How is it that Highland is higher then Bountiful? Didn't Bountiful beat Highland?
What has Bountiful done since they beat Highland? What has Highland Done? This is the same reason that alta is ranked above Bingham. Since Bingham beat alta they have lost 2 games. Strength of schedule doesnt really matter, just wins and losses.
Because bountiful beat highland without their two main offensive threats.
So if Highland beats East (hopefully), there will be a 3 way tie between East, Rams and Braves(if they beat WX) for region champs. Who gets the NO.1 seed? I am so confused.
Go rams
I honestly believe WX, East, Rams and Bountiful will make it past the First Round. The SEC of 4A prepares those boys well. Expect them to play smash-mouth football and put up a fight.
Go Highland get the Leopards. May the best team win, goodluck East.
I'd like to see that Bountiful Highland game gain. With Sione Houma.
Ram Pride.
@SLCBoy
No need for confusion, highland won't beat east.
@eagle
The problem is they have no wins against top 25 teams. If they want to be in the top 25 they need to schedule some upper level teams in the preseason.
@eagle
Although San Juan has dominated 2A and Manti and Delta have played well you have to consider the teams they have played when ranking on a state level not just their record. Rather than speculate on where they should be ranked in the State it is much more important where they finish in their region so that they can claim the State title.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............
@AltaDad
Wake up............
highland ram
the "SEC" of 4a huh? when i think about the name SEC, i think about championships, since the real SEC of college football has won the last 5 championships. So lets compare that to the mighty "SEC" of 4a football in the state of Utah. last year highland won yea ill give u that but thats the ONLY championship your SEC has had for the past SEVEN years.....so in conclusion do they have really good teams? absolutely. are they the SEC of 4a? absolutely......NOT
Well Miner Pride, tell me the toughest region in the state, and don't say Region 4.
Well region 4 does house 2 of the top 3 teams in the state...
And Region 3 has 2 of the top 4 teams.
Exactly altadad, so I don't know how anyone can say they have the toughest region in 4A
@eagle I agree Delta is a tough team, but WHY did they drop Hurricane from Pre-season play ???? If your going to compete in the road to the championship in 3A your going to play tough teams, SO WHY drop them? Ya the lost last year pretty bad, so re-group and come back. when Hurricane scheduled Skyline the first year people thought they were crazy! they knew that would most likely be a loss but better to go up against a tough team. I guess that one just stumps me......
Playing Top 25 isn't enough, should you not win? Just because West scheduled and played Highland and Lone Peak and lost by large margins doesn't mean they deserve a ranking. It can be argued that Delta could have done just as well. Delta beat both Stansbury and Spanish Fork handily, two good teams who could honestly be ranked higher than West in these standings. It seems that the D-News falls in love with Salt Lake teams as soon as they win a few games only to find out they're not too good say like Granger, Hunter, Kearns, West Jordan (who have they actually beat that it's in the Top 25?)...
