Mr. Peterson should be honest in his assessment about Harry Reid's actions. It was not "to prevent Republicans from forcing votes on the president's jobs bill." It was to allow debate on the bill before the vote, which is exactly what Mitch McConnell wanted to avoid. And when Mr. Peterson says "...Obama's presidential campaign ... has no record to run on" he is wrong again. Since his first day on office he has been focused on reviving the economy and creating jobs for working Americans. Along the way, he's had a few distractions - like eliminating bin Laden - but he has been focused. His efforts have been thwarted every step of the way by those on the other side of the aisle. In fact it was Mitch McConnell who said publicly that his No 1 goal was to defeat the president - not put Americans back to work, not grow the economy, not help small businesses expand - just remove this president from office. McConnell's actions, and those of his associates in the House and Senate have been completely in line with that goal. They have done nothing else.
Has the campaign started? This letter leads us to that conclusion. The jobs bill actions in the Senate are high level political posturing, and I am betting the writer of this letter really has no clue as top what is going on. Instead, he uses legislative tactics to bootstrap to an attack on the President. Keep it honest, please.
