Will BYU have better success against a PAC-12 team than Utah?

Great news. I didn't want to sit around the radio like it was 1950 to listen to the game. Go Independence. Go Cougars!

This is a great achievement and demonstrates the forward thinking of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and BYU. It also demonstrates the relevance and respect BYU's brand and BYUtv have in the world.

I'm looking forward to watching the game!

Interesting.

It looks like the Pac 12 has move love for BYU than Utah, and BYU isn't even a member. This just proves that BYU has a national following and that people want to watch them. Also, this shows the Pac 12 will go out of their way for BYU, but not Utah.... haha.

Looks like BYU will get a win over a Pac 12 team before Utah this season hahaha.

Pac 10 AD's love BYU. They help fill their stadiums.

However, the Presidents of a couple of the California schools to remain nameless hate BYU. Not sure if anyone noticed but, the Pac 12 now requires 75% approval (as opposed to unanimous when it was the Pac 10) to admit a new member. I don't see it coming anytime soon but, if superconferences I wouldn't be surprised to see BYU back in a conference with Utah despite the vehement objections from the tree huggers.

What does the broadcast have to do with UTAH?

Why was it so hard to get this done and take such a huge effort from "all sides".

Who are the sides?

What were the issues that had to be resolve?

Please answer these questions Mr. Call. (They should have been answered in your article. My opinion, but I do not know all the challenges you faced.)

Oh please - both BYU and Utah fans are like a dysfunctional set of Twins. We can't do anything without somehow it having something to do with the other.

I just know I look forward to the day when Utah is playing in Pullman and the rowdy fans there start making fun of their connection to their LDS past - just use your imagination. Won't that be ironic - the very thing they mock their Blue Brothers for, they will soon be mocked with...

So let us continue to think every move we make effects the other and just be glad that we "hate" each other enough to still care

After all the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference and clearly we are not indifferent to each other.

And to that I say thank goodness - after all my day was not just complete because BYU won - it was complete because Utah lost.

So to my brothers up north I say ha ha and secretly thanks for still "hating" us enough to let me know you care...

And yes we "hate" you to.

To BYU Joe - many BYU fans don't appreciate being lumped in with your "we" who hate the Utes so much. Love their coach, love their players, wish them well except when they play BYU. As with all sports teams (including BYU), their fans are a mixed bag.

Reveling in the misfortune of others, enough to give you a "complete" day is really more of a psychological disorder than a healthy athletic loyalty.

The real question is if it is going to be broadcast in HD. After watching my Sun Devils trounce the Utes and the Cougs defeat the Spartans in the old definition, I don't think I can do it again. Am I just spoiled? It's like playing on an Xbox 360 for years and then trying to play a game on an Atari 2600. Sure, it was great back in the day, but it just doesn't cut it anymore and it's not even worth playing. It could be that the new HD TVs don't create great SD pictures, but I could hardly see who had the ball and you certainly can't see the ball in the air during a pass. Although, I'm sure I will be complaining in a few years that the games are only in HD and not 3D.

Perhaps high def hasn't been discovered in Arizona yet. The Utes-Forks game was available in Salt Lake on Roots HD.

The biggest joke of all is that you actually believe that.

It's fairly amusing to watch Y fans praise and compliment the Pac 12, while completely ignorant of the fact that just a year ago they disrespected BYU in the worst way possible... by leaving them out to twist in the cold, and bringing in their hated rival for membership.

So, go ahead and praise OUR conference. Makes you look ridiculous.

Allen... The Utes have played some of the best players in the PAC. Oregon State is the worst. There's a huge difference.

teams that is....

If I remember correctly, BYU played a Pac team on September 17th. How did that work out for them?

Now that Wynn is out and there's nothing else to 'live' for in Ute Nation BYU articles will notice a spike in interest.

Ha ha!

I think the biggest joke is that Tomahawk is so obsessed with BYU.

How was BYU "disrespected"? It is well known that the Pac 10 required unanimous approval to admit new members and the Presidents of Cal and Stanford were on record as saying they would never vote to admit BYU. When asked about this very topic Larry Scott also said BYU was never in consideration.

But, overall I'd say BYU does have a cordial relationship with the majority of the Pac schools. I remember reading recently that the Pac lacrosse (?) tournament was Pac + BYU. I don't think BYU joining the conference is imminent or even likely but, now that unanimous approval is no longer required it wouldn't surprise me if super conferences came to be.
