I dont like skylin, never have. But congrats coach, that is an amazing stat that will probably never be broken.
@Football1881: Two aspects of your comment is off base. One, your commenting on the wrong article, and two, Coach Brandon Matich will break that record in 2027.
probably not - he'll try to jump ship to college
Go Leopards! Don't look past Highland. Clear room in the trophy case for the hardware for both region and state!
Kipp maybe clear room in the tropy case for Region, but I wouldn't be too sure about state yet. Logan is looking really good.
@Utahstaggie East is looking really good to our strength of schedule tops logans and we will see in the playoffs. one player cant beat a team like east
Keep overlooking a hungry Highland team East, remember what happened last year??
That's why Kipp said "Don't look past Highland" right?
Fellow region Sixers..we get 4 playoff spots, correct?
@SLCBOY
East isnt overlooking highland at all this game has been circled on there schedule since day 1 time for some payback
@SLCBOY
No need to overlook highland, they're down.
Highland will be East's first loss of the season. The one thing East has not faced at all this year is a power runningback. I am not a Highland fan nor an East, but after watching East play 90% passing teams, and struggled against teams that try to run, it's safe to say Highland's Houma and that running QB will make East pay. With that said, Highland will not get past Logan who will meet East in the finals.
Highland will be a fun battle in the trenches... But with only one offensive weapon, Highland will be lucky to move the ball 50 yards the whole game. They're not looking past them at all. They're going to savor every hit. It's going to be sweet payback.
Logan will be a good game... Just by the numbers Logan let Bountiful score way too much while East shut them down and Logan's schedule is a bit softer than East's.
@MansGame: What you don't realize by simply looking at the score is this: Logan pulled their starters after the half. Bountiful only scored 3 on Logan's starting defense. At least 14 of those points for Bountiful were scored by Logan's 3rd string offense making mistakes.
@Loganfan - this may sting, but with the exception of highland, the level of competition along the Wasatch front is greater than the level in Cache Valley. Seriously, who do you have, Mt Crest? Sky View? I just LOLed! Congrats on beating Cottonwood, but they are down as well. I'll say it again, make room in the trophy case!
Kipp,
before you start dogging CV teams remember what MC did to East last year and they were one play away from winning the state championship. At least one team from CV goes deep into the playoffs every year and its either MC or Logan. this year it looks to be Logan. I hope your leopards do not overlook them, their offense is good, but their D is even better IMO. Although I will admit that East is one of the few teams I think can get a win against Logan, it will not be easy.
Kipp,
Didn't Mountain Crest blow you guys out last year? I'm not sure if you noticed but this year's Logan team is a better team than last year's Mountain Crest and Nelson is just as good (I think better) than Kuresa last year (and Logan has a much better defense).
As good as East is this year, I'm not sure they were better than last year as both Bountiful and Highland are no where as good as they both were last year. I have a feeling Logan will blow you guys out in the last game of the season.
We wont know if east or logan will actually play? its a non region game, id probably say they wouldnt. But if they do, it will be a good one. east has had success against running teams, no doubt. Vigil from fremont, takenaka from west, and recently satuala against bountiful. east has improved from last year. it'll be interesting how east n logan will play out. they way i see it, east plays with alot of heart it will be fun to watch that game!
@Badger55
One play away, that's gotta sting! Fact, East would roll MC this year. Fact, East's defense will stuff Logan's run game, that is if Logan will even play us. If Sky View loses to Bonneville, they're out. Wasatch front football is superior to CV.
@Badcoach2011
Nelson is not better than Kuresa. This year's East team has another year of quality coaching. We won't get blown out by Logan. I don't see us losing a game, let alone getting blown out.
Look out highland.
