I think RSL have been aiming at the goal too much. They need to start aiming at
their opponents' arms.
Good point on MLS not being a top flight league due to the officiating. I've
never seen a top flight official blow a call.
I want this team heading into the playoffs with a chip on their shoulder, with
something to prove. Just like when they won the title 2 years ago. When they get
cocky, and feel invincible, they seem to lay an egg. What's happening will make
them stronger, and I believe will lead to another championship.
@UnluckyI'm not sure how you can conclude that RSL is "mentally
weak" and "not a contender" based on last night's game where 7
starters were out. That's like saying the Green Bay Packers are not a good team
based on watching their water boys play football.
RSL has mentally weak players. They are not a contender. First round exit. Sorry
I think RSL can shrug this loss off...As noted above the calls were garbage...I
can see the difficulty on the first, but the ref didn't consult with the
linesman...Take some rest and leave it all on the field next week...
This team is down in the mouth right now. Here we were riding a 5 game winning
streak, Morales was coming back and it looked like we were even going to make a
run at the supporters shield. Now a couple of weeks later, this. Before the CCL
final this team had mojo, they had the fortress and they were bragging about how
they were the deapest team in MLS and that it didn't matter who they put on the
field they would find a way to beat you. Well? Where did it go? The CCL seamed
to really deflate them losing on their home field with everything on the line.
Losing Morales was the next big blow, and as other regulars went off with
injuries we lost just that much more confidence. Now here we are, 3-0 against
the MLS bottom feeders. These guys have made some excuses, but they just need to
put that chip on their shoulder again. I still believe these guys could take it
all, they just need that confidence back.
Before reporting on a story a reporter should watch the game and have the facts
straight. Collen Warner's hand ball was not a hand ball at all. The ball clearly
hit him on the front of the shoulder. He did not raise his hand to hit the ball
away. Chris Schuler's hand ball was also the wrong call. Two more examples of
why the MLS will never be considered a top flight league with poor quality of
officiating that we witness across the league.
Read the rules to soccer. It must be intentional to be a handball. I dont know
how you could call either of those intentional. Neither of those should be
called a penalty let alone a red card. As a soccer official this frustrates me.
Let the players decide the outcome of the game. The official is not there to
play the game, just to officiate.
