Emery @ South Summit: Edge to SS because home. Should be the Game of Week for 2A. SS by 6

Gunnison @ North Summit: Both got beaten down last week, but NS will be the one to battle back. NS wins by a last minute FG

Manti @ ALA: Temps are WAY too much for ALA. Look for a 4 TD win.

North Sevier @ Millard: Eagles are flying high as usual. Slim chance they are looking past this game to next weeks show down, but really doubt it. Millard by 30+

Beaver @ San Jaun: Beaver has some promise until they meet Enterprise last week. San Juan should have no problem if they play their game. SJ easy by 20+

Enterprise @ Grand: Grand almost came back and beat Kanab last week, but Enterprise has too much on Defense to allow a comeback. Enterprise by 17+

Parowan @ South Sevier: The battle of the winless takes place in Monroe. SS has the advantage at home, and has scored more points. SS by a TD

Richfield @ Kanab: This game has so many situations depending on it. Richfield win gives them opening to 2nd place. Kanab win gives Enterprise 2nd place (if they win out

Im glad that he talks about the San Juan Broncos alot but the boys just north of us (Monticello) are scoring about 45 points per game. I would say they may be leading the state in ppg...but I may be wrong.

I am sure that Monticello has a good team. Looking at their scores they average 42.5 points per game. That's pretty good but at the same time they are playing Whitehorse and Monument Valley. JV teams could score 30 or more on them.

Mr. Felt
On your stats about Davis recovering 5 fumbles & that being the most since Duchesne recovered 7 in the 2009 1A Championship- How many fumble recoveries did SJ have in last years 2A Championship? I was thinking that S. Summit set a playoff record by fumbling like 9 times and losing 5-6 of them.

@Mark T.
Monticello can't help who's in their region. They have also played other teams like Carbon, Grand, & Rich. It's just like SJ, they have Parowan & your S. Sevier Rams in their region and, not to put them down, neither team has even won a game (that will change this Friday though). Both teams defenses have allowed about as many points (SS 204, Parowan 220) as Whitehorse (217), while Monument Valley has allowed considerably less (133), even if they have played 1 less game.

@ boys of fall
obviously you have never seen a game played by either Monument Valley or Whitehorse. Both Parowan and South Sevier would score 30 or more on them. The scores in the games that Monticello has played against other opponents has not been that much. I don't think Mark T. was trying to take away anything from Monticello. Just pointing out that scoring over 50 and 70 points in 2 games really helps your teams average points scored.

You're right on almost all accounts. I've never seen either team play, both Ram teams would probably score 30+ on them, and putting up big #'s on a couple teams will help pad your stats. But the one point I would disagree is that the scores against other opponents have not been much. Take out those 2 games and they are still averaging 33.6 pts/game. That's a lot less than 42.5, but still not too bad.
And Mark T. did have a point saying that JV teams would score 30 on MV or Whitehorse, seeing how SJ's JV just beat Whitehorse 32-0 last week.
But, like I said, you can't help who's in your region.
Sorry if I misunderstood what Mark T. was saying and that he wasn't trying to take away something from Monticello.
Good luck to your Rams tomorrow.

Your right that the two teams are weak but they are 1A and as good in the 1A division as South Sevier is in the 2A division. Besides I think Logan is the team averaging the most ppg (according to our local paper). I like the fact that San Juan County has the top ranked 2A team and the 2nd ranked 1A team. Both teams have some huge challenges ahead of them and the play-offs should be interesting.

To William: You are correct that Monticello leads 1A in scoring average, 42.6, second overall to Logans 48.7. The Bucks are third in winning margin, 28.7. Only lost to 3A Carbon, won easily at 2A Grand and at traditionally strong Rich.

To Boys of Fall: South Summit did set a championship game record last year, fumbling nine times, but its not a playoff game record.

Jordan holds that one, fumbling 12 times and losing 10 in a 3A quarterfinal in 1981, yet still managed to beat Bear River, 25-21.

Rich lost the most fumbles in a championship, seven, in 2009, or you could say Duchesne recovered the most.

Most fumbles lost all-time? 10 by that 1981 Jordan team and by Parowan in 1978, to Beaver.
