Interesting, if a bit rambling, article. My people are from this area, as the first Mormon Sterrett, William Wilson, after numerous expeditions made for Brigham Young throughout the Deseret area, decided to relocate to the Bear River valley. They (Sterretts and Wilhelmsens) settled in Paris and Soda Springs, then headed west to Oregon. Nice to hear about my heritage - since we have never been "Utah Mormons."
