So let me get this straight... there was only school interested in Jon Hays
after his Div II school, Nebraska-Omaha, dropped their football program? You
guessed it! THE Pac12 frontrunner...(drum roll, please) the Runnin' Ute football
program! Great get, you guys. Great get. (better get Shreve ready,
Vontaze is looking to hurt someone)This game on Saturday should be
really fun to watch.
I disagree, Duckhunter Hunter. I think we are going to witness a no quit spirit
on the Utah football team and they will find success in a strengthened character
and playing as a team. Hays has the tools to be successful but needs protection
from the line. His receivers are outstanding and will make plays. Defense has
to continue to play as though everything depends on them.I think we
are going to be pleasantly surprised. GO UTES!!
Hays will not be a star. He has no star qualities - no big arm, no accuracy, no
speed, no quickness. He probably has average mental fortitude. His one
strength is porbably his heart. He will give it his all, unlike Hypes. This is a MAJOR mess and Ute fans, myself included, should be concerned. Very
concerned. To think that things will go on without a noticeable difference is
naive. It is also a MAJOR recruiting error and will be a painful process to
witness. It's disappointing that it has happened during a year when so much
ground could have been made. Instead, Utah will likely be forgotten just like
BYU already is.
At least now I feel like I have something to look forward to. Not that I didn't
like Wynn, but I don't think he is ever going to become a huge star. Who knows
right now with Hays. He may be bad, but he may turn out great. I'm excited to
see (and of course I'm hoping for the latter).
Good luck to Hays, and all the Utes in this game. It's fun to talk
smack, but playing with the chips stacked against ya, everyone should pull for
Ominous news...Too bad we can't tank the season for the Luck
