Bitter in victory. Bitter in defeat. The mark of a true BYU hater.

ASU will destroy the Utes52-3
I have a great idea. If the Utes can get bowl eligible, they can join BYU in a
rematch on a neutral site in the Armed Forces Bowl, and we can all watch the Utes
melt like they did last year against Boise. That is assuming U can be bowl
eligible. Otherwise BYU just goes to RES and gets some payback next

again? Looks like I'm right here... unlike you, who takes a week hiatus after we
plastered you on your own field.Yesterday? We got worked in the
second half. But the fact is, there's a ton of difference between Utah and BYU
right now.BYU still hasn't shown, not one time this year, that they
are a formidable team. They should be 0-5 right now... and Utah State, a WAC
team, dominated BYU on their home field just like Utah did. It can be argued,
with some legitimacy, that BYU is the 3rd best team in the state right now. Your
starting, Heisman-grade QB has been so flat this year that he has now been
benched. We lost to a middle-tier Pac 12 team, largely because our
starting QB did not play in the second half. What happens to Stanford if Luck
gets hurt?BYU has a lot more to worry about than we do.
@better deadWhy are you buying the ute "fan" line that I

27 - 0 loss at UNLV huh? (Tell Whittingham that.) Wow, that ought to work for
BYU fans too, huh? But they were the same coaches and same program at Utah,
were they not?I'm just amazed at Utah for this one fact: EVERY YEAR
they think they are GREAT and then we learn that their embarassing losses are to
be chalked up to it being "different teams, different years." We find
ought, with a few exceptions like 2004 and 2008, that the Utes just prove that
they only thought they were good. Look at last year when they met Notre Dame
(plus two others) and see what happened to their lofty, undersevred national
ranking as an example. This year they played USC in LA and UW in SLC and we see
how "great" they really are (aren't).Enjoy the Vegas bowl
if you happen to get there. ASU is coming to town and you have no QB to speak
of. That might take a miracle for you to win but you guys don't believe in
miracles so enjoy the fact you beat BYU. That's the sum of the 2011 campaign.
PAC-12 vs WCC? Which is the more highly respected conference? Utah
State and BYU both need to join the Big Sky where each would be more
competitive. Unless the MWC and WAC merge, neither will last very long.
Ute fans are the ultimate bandwagon bunch. Another couple of losses and you
will see Rice Eccles empty out faster than rats off the Titanic. Fold up your
nice little red PAC 12 shirts and "PAC" them away for next season.

the strongest conference THIS year, but we certainly are a good and storied one.
Funny how so many people think of the PAC 12 as a weak division, and Funnier how
they forget the national tiles won by our schools. I remember when Wisconsin was
the bottom dweller and UDUB was beating Nebraska. The Utes will win games and
they will lose some. You will find a weird parity in the Pac 12 where any team
can provide a whipping to another member regardless of record on any given
day.Utah lost to a young, but talented group, one that continues to
get better each week. The Huskies have been scored on because teams see the lack
of maturity and take advantage where there is that opportunity. The D will
continue to get better, which Utah found out. Make no mistake, they do perform
well in the red zone.Welcome to your first conference spanking and

Utah fans say have fun playing Idaho State. The last time I checked they are in
the same Big Sky conference as Montana State. Utah's 2 wins are against a team
from the Big Sky conference and lowly BYU. There is a reason why Norm Chow was
shown the door at UCLA. BYU was humbled 2 weeks ago. Welcome to the club Utah. I
still believe that Utah will turn things around in the next game or two, become
bowl eligible and make it to a better bowl game than the armed forces bowl. This
will be due to their conference affiliation more than them deserving it.
Isn't it strange how turnovers can have such a significant effect on the outcome
on a football game?? It destroys a game when you have two teams who are evenly
matched. I know not most Ute fans are not cocky jerks, but to the ones who are,
in thought of you, it was an enjoyment to watch Utah implode. Karma hurts eh??
The revenge of Steve Sarkesian after the BYU debacle. I don't wish Utah any
anymous, but after all the crowing they do when they defeat BYU, they had it
coming. Their defenive secondary is suspect, and their quarterback is soft.
I grew up in Arizona rooting for Asu, BYU, and Utah. Until I moved to Utah. It
became ASU and BYU. Because as I found you can't root for both. The rivalry is
big but losses that get out of hand aren't always indicative of who's vastly
better. ASU vs. USC showed that. Turnovers are killer and deflating. UTAH and
BYU have a long way to go especially this year to compete with the big boys. I
watched Nebraska play Wisconsin, I still believe Nebraska is good, I hope
Wisconsin doesn't get a big head and pull a Utah. Opportunistic bounces don't
tell how good a team is. How they respond to a win or loss does. ASU should have
demolished OREGON State but they pulled it together. GO BYU and

First off, nice game Utes. I think it would have been a different game without
the turnovers however I think the Huskies would have still ran wild in the
second half. You will get there, your season is not defined by one game
and you don't face Stanford. All the rest of your games are possible wins. BYU fans are full of it too. BYWho wouldnt even get in a BCS conference
because they would choke. Heck their only National championship came against a

I think Utah fans should get used to a lot of 7-5, 6-6, 5-7 seasons
unfortunately. This is the PAC-12 not the MWC or WAC.
Utah fans really shouldn't have high expectations for our first year. Utah lacks
depth and the offensive line is weak compared to other Pac-12 schools. It is
going to take a few years to recruit and get that depth. This is a year where we
know where we'll stand at the end of the season and we can improve on that. Utah
will be a great Pac-12 member in years to come. I have no doubt we have the best
coaches in the league. We just need to get that Pac-12 talent. Go
Neither BYU nor Utah has found their identity yet. I will miss the BYU/Utah game
at the end of the season, because both teams were always at their peaks.

Utah every time they don't play another Utah based team and then I try to watch
a football game neutrally (not always successful)!! The thing I'm not sure you
get is BYU doesn't care that they were not invited to the PAC-12. BYU received
inquiries from the PAC-whatever before and told them NO to playing on Sunday,
and don't bother asking again if that doesn't change. The PAC-whatever finally
listened. I think today's posts are in retaliation for the BYU
"hater" posts of 2 weeks ago. MidMajor4Ever, FOCUS!!
Chris BWhat's your prediction for the ASU game? where are ya?
To Ute fans:It's not that BYU fans hate the Utes. We hate all the
trash-talking when you win and excuse-making when you lose. Why not admit it -
your team isn't very good this year, being 0-2 in conference play against BCS
conference teams? But go ahead, keep making "54-10" your
rallying cry each week as your losses mount. If that's what it takes to make
you feel better about your middle to bottom PAC 10.2 team ...
Re: JaredWhy are you comparing BYU's wins/losses to Utah's? The
only thing that you are missing is that Utah is clearly better this year as was
shown on the field between the two teams a couple of weeks ago. Case closed.
Better luck next year.
Put the loss in perspective. The Huskies, who struggled to beat Eastern
Washington by 3 points, aren't very good. Losing to a good team isn't all that
bad but losing to a bad team isn't all that good.
Just checked the attendance and saw that it was 45,412. The Utah Rice-Eccles
web site says capacity 46,178. I wonder if 766 missing included the U of U
football team or not?? Can't wait for a Sunday home Pac-12 basketball game at
the Huntsman Center!! Stay true to your roots Utes!!
thats the worst ive seen the utes play since...i dont know...boise st.? oh and
they had a back up qb in that game too. we were in it the first half (until we
lost our starter). you know the utes are great at recruiting a lot of positions
(LB, DL, RB, Receiver, etc.) but our QB position has been shallow for EVER. Utah
isn't really a destination spot for QB's, i'll be the first to say it. but even
with a few turnovers in the first half we were still in it...until we laid a
huge egg in the 3rd.
Welcome to the big leagues children.
Wynn weighed 155 pounds in high school and we are surprised that he is
injuredall the time. Whit's worst recruiting mistake so far. Our safeties
weigh inat 185 pounds with no experience in D1 ball and we wonder why they
cannot tackle and miss so many reads on defense. They were being pushed aside
like bowling pins tonight and for most of the season so far. From Whit's
perspective the last thing we need is loyalty and experience. I beg to differ.
What happened to BYU two weeks ago has now happened to Utah. What comes around
goes around. Go Utes!
Re: niners "Tonight's game proved 2 things...#1-Utah is bad #2-BYU is
horrible"BYU almost beats Texas. Texas is still undefeated.
Utah beats Montana State. BYU beats UCF [total offense ranked 4th in NCAA, total
defense ranked 6th in NCAA, points allowed ranked 1st in NCAA], Utah beats BYU.
Washington beats Utah. USU almost beats Auburn [almost isn't a win but USU
should have won just like BYU should have beat Utah last year]. BYU beats USU.
Auburn beats South Carolina. Conclusion: Every team is horrible? As
bad as BYU's offense has been, it is ranked 56th in the NCAA to Utah's 86th.
Neither team is particularly good this year but neither team is horrible. BYU at
least has wins over an SEC team (granted, Ole Miss isn't good relative to other
SEC teams but they ) and a very good UCF team. Utah has big wins over Montana
State and BYU (with no wins over any BCS teams). My point is that it
would be wise for fans to not point fingers or thump chests.
Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention:We beat the Huskies when
they had their All-American Quarterback. Hey Tomahawk Redhead - how does it feel
the day after???
@54-10...Like your display name, this will be your binky that will
be used all year long. Get over it, the Ute Football team has. They know they
have a challenge this year and they could sure use the energy directed towards
them rather than over someonte else.
Utah fans trying to make themselves feel better: "We may be 0-2 in the
pac12, and not even close to a conference title, but at least we are in an AQ
conference! We won a game against BYU 2 weeks ago. We are still high and
mighty."Utah fans, reality is calling and wants you to know
that you don't have a winning record. Please answer the phone.
Utah is now 0-2 in pac12. Will play the best team left on their schedule this
weekend without starting QB. Question: When does Utah sound the
"Toilet Bowl" alarm? Question 2: What would have happened
to Utah had BYU started Riley Nelson for the whole game? Go Sun
How funny, the Ute Nation keeps on pointing to Utah vs BYU scoreboard. While Cougar Nation keeps on pointing to Utah vs Washington/TCU/Boise/anything
but BYU scoreboard.Nice to see Utah opponents give BYU fans
something to cheer about each year, after all your team can't compete on the
field. Final note: Utah was hammered by a better team yesterday.
The running game was MIA and in the 2nd half the Ute defense well played like
BYUs defense in the 54-10 romp.
Hated seeing Wynn get hurt...but somehow have felt that it was going to
eventually happen. It was a tough game to watch... being just as big of a
Sarkesian fan... but still wanting to see Whittingham's Ute's do well in it's
initial PAC ventures.Still feeling the pain from last weeks BYU
loss... but...enjoying seeing Sarkesian develop as a Head Coach and re-kindling
the Huskies program.
No, balljunkie. The Brigham Young game was on ESPN. But it wouldn't have
mattered if it was ESPN2. Watched it here in Vegas and also lucky enough to get
the Utah game, as it were.
Utah, BYU, Utah State: All 3 teams remind me of the TV show "Biggest
Loser".But as a graduate of Utah State, I think Utah State has
earned the title "Biggest Loser".
ASU is now a must-win for the Utes. If ASU wins, they are 3-0 in the conference;
Utah is 0-3 with no chance of the Pac-12 title game. The Pac-12 experiment would
be off to a dismal start, and Utah's best chance at the title game for the next
few years will have evaporated. Unfortunately, it's also a can't-win
for the Utes. Do you think they'll be able to handle Osweiler, Marshall, or
Pflugrad--they're definitely a step up from Heaps, DiLuigi and Hoffman. Plus,
you can't expect a total meltdown from the Sun Devils. Defensively, ASU is
strong and speedy. Vontaze Burfict may be the nation's best linebacker.
The final score makes the game appear less of a beatdown. That's exactly what it
was though. How about Norm Chow's brilliant fourth-and-garbage-time
play calling? The only people left to sing Utah Man were the drunks who made
the only good choice tonight by deciding to "punt the keys."Go flUkes!
Hey mykaljordan...that's cute. What if we were Stanford and our QB was named
Luck. What could we not do with him?
A few questions for the Ute haters:1 - Learn anything at conference
today?2 - Remember 14 days ago? 54-10?3 - Is your team
in the PAC 12? Why does this game matter to you?4 - Is Envy one of
the seven deadliest sins? How about Pride?5 - When will you begin
to focus on your new rival, USU?6 - After a mid-major independent
loses a game what do they play for?I truly hope the Utah haters can
put their jealousy and envy behind them and cheer for all five teams in the
state of Utah. None of our teams compete against each other so we should hope
for the best for all five teams. FYI, it wasn't the U. of Utah's fault that BYU
wasn't invited to the PAC 12. Most Utah fans would have loved to have BYU
invited to keep the rivalry going.
Nunya...I know what you mean. I tried to watch the BYU game on ESPN on Friday
and could not find it either. Wait...was it on the "Sister" network
ESPN 2. Did not even think to look there. Last time I watched that was when I
wanted to see the WNBA Finals.
"U" cant WIN with Wynn....Better hope Chase Hansen doesn't
DECOMMIT...!! Mr.Hansen cant wait to watch you as a UTE...!!!
@A1994No real BYU fan is really being boastful, just enjoying a Utah
loss after all the crap we were given after BOTH our loss to Utah (we deserved
it) and our win against USU (don't know why they thought we deserved it). They
needed some humble pie. Also, I wouldn't go around telling people not
to assume, and then go on and make a bunch of assumptions. Just sayin'...
I gotta hand it to you, Uteology, you see everything through those
crimson-colored glasses. How much did they cost and where did you buy them?
(Not that I ever want a pair of them.) Remind me again how Utah had a "bad
game" and BYU is totally crummy; that while BYU almost defeated Texas in
Austin, but they still lost, that Utah defeating Montana State in SLC was a real
accomplishment. (How thick did you say those lenses are?) The Utes have
achieved their ALWAYS main goal and that is to beat BYU. This year, unless
miracles happen, that's all they're likely to do. (But then the Utes don't
believe in miracles, do they?) Well, maybe I spoke a bit too soon; they may go
to the Vegas Bowl as the 5th best PAC 12 Team, but I don't see that happening
right now.....maybe though. We'll have to see if they can defeat Colorado,
their "real" rival.
Hey COUGS - 54-10 and you quit.
crazy thing ever....I mean i have 200 something channels on this here directv
and still couldn't find the game...can someone tell me please...did you guys
win? hahahahahaha getting whooped by a bottom feeder pac 10.2 team is worse
then beating a 1-2 usu team. well, be back on here when you lose next week too.
Carnak....hate to break it to you but PAC 10/12 football is 4-5th best college
football in the nation. SEC is big boy football (OK you win...it's man
football). Big 12 is small man football...Big 10 is giant boy football...then
ACC, PAC, or Big East are the big boy conferences. How would you like to be
Florida and play Alabama this week, LSU next week, followed by Tennessee,
Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn.
This far into the season, we all thought it would be readily apparent who was by
far the best quarterback in the state between Heaps and Wynn and that has sure
come true, NEITHER! From what we have seen this year, I don't think either QB
can lead their teams to a good season, but perhaps BYU has a decent second
option in Riley Nelson, we shall see.
@warduYou know what they say when you assume. I generally cheer for
BYU (Unless they play USU). I have been watching each game BYU has played in
this year. They were LUCKY to beat Ole Miss. The barely got by UCF. Now try
looking at their performance and their future schedule. They haven't beat TCU
for several years and they have to play them in Texas. They have to play Hawaii
in Hawaii...a team they haven't beat in Hawaii since the 1980s. BYU really
isn't that good this year. I'm just calling it like I see it. I don't give a
whit about Utah. They are going to have a bad year too against much tougher
competition. No BYU fan has anything to be boastful about. BYU wouldn't have
lasted 2 quarters against Washington this year. Everyone knows it.
Come on striker....Are you really calling a 2-3 Ole Miss (beat Fresno
today), a 1-4 USU, 2-2 UCF, and a 2-2 Utah Team tough opponents? Sure glad I'm
an Alabama fan and don't have to spin the truth.College football in
Utah is 2nd rate at best. BYU was good the year they beat KSU in a bowl game,
other than that...not every very good (the NC year is a joke). Utah was very
good in 2004 and beat the heck out of my tide in 2008 but not much other than
that, and USU has never been anything.Enjoy your internal argument
of who is the best team in a state of losers.Roll Tide Roll
Tough loss for Utah. Can't wait for Basketball season in the PAC 12.
The BYU win was the best/worst thing that could have happened to Utah and this
game proves it. Certain that the problems were caused by the "great
defense" that UW had and are a reflection of how good UW really is and the
losing team is as bad as the score shows - just like 2 weeks ago. Note the
PAC 12 football is big boy football. Can't fumble the kick off for a Washington
touchdown and then drive inside the Washington 10 3 times and come away with no
points. Maybe you can do that in the MWC but not in the PAC 12.
This will be the last comment I make on a Utah board this year.As
I've been saying all year, Utah will be lucky to bowl eligible this year. But
with Wynn's injury, it will be even tougher. Enjoy your win over BYU. It could
be the last U'll get this year, especially with Wynn out.Nah. U'll
beat Colorado.I'm hoping the win shows that my Huskies will be
fairly good this year. I like what Sark is doing.Go Huskies! Go BYU!
So long, Utah.
I love Sark. He always was one of my favorites! He did enjoy smacking the Utes
around! He did it as a QB, QB coach(USC), and now as Head Coach. Good on ya
Osgrath that may well be the most intelligent thing written on this board!
Great job Huskies! Weird to see a former BYU player (coach Sarkisian) beat up on
a former BYU player (coach Whittingham). Welcome to the Pac 12 Utes.
"Utah may have to lower its expectations. The Utes had hoped to contend for
the South Division title, but find themselves winless in conference play, with
the meat of their schedule still to come."I thought the Utes
said they were the anointed and chosen team to be in the PAC-12 because they
were the superior team in the state and ready to play with the BCS conference
teams each week.0-2 so far!
Tonight's game proved 2 things...#1-Utah is bad#2-BYU is
BYU: 3-2 after facing 5 tough opponentsUtah: 2-2 after facing 3 tough
opponentsUSU: 1-3 after facing 2 tough opponentsPretty clear
to see who the best team in the state is just by looking at W/L. The same team
will likely be the only team with a winning record. Washington, WSU, and
Colorado will all be tough. Add that to the other good PAC teams and a winning
season looks doubtful with a backup QB from a rink-a-dink school in Nebraska.
Thanks Steve! We owe you!
Big R When Dick Harmon said the MWC was better than the Pac, it was because that
year they were. The conference was something like 7-1 against the Pac that year.

Is Lark available for our Utes? Can't believe the U got into a
position where the best we could do for a second string quarterback, when our
first string qb was coming off surgery, is someone that was headed to
Nebraska-Omaha until their program folded. Couldn't we have found
someone from the JC ranks last year? Too bad one of our best linebackers
(formerly our best safety) is probably our best qb, too. Too bad we were all in
on Wynn. Can't wait for Wilson to get on campus next year!
I had my concerns going into this game. I thought destroying BYU, while amusing,
wasn't a sign of greatness. Washington proved me right. But I
actually took some encouragement from tonight's game. While the D was suspect I
didn't think they were THAT bad. Washington called some great plays and the
players executed them very well.I didn't think Utah's quarterback
play was completely atrocious either. Yes Hays made a couple huge mistakes but
he made some good throws and runs as well. Coming off the bench I thought he
played reasonably well.I'm still really happy about Utah being in
the PAC-12. The only way to get better is to up the level of your competition
and then work hard to rise to the challenge. Winning a bunch of meaningless
games in the WAC-Lite conference wouldn't really do it for me. Go
This is almost as fun as watching the BYU-UT.ST. game last night. Keep spinning
it Utes, tell me how that loss was really not a loss since U beat the Cougs.

U have an angry ASU team coming into town next week, then on the road to Pitt
and Cal. Can U say 0-4? Hmmm seems like I heard a lot about that last year. The
Y managed a winning season after their bad stretch, maybe U can break even too.
What difference does 54-10 make to Rose Bowl officials? What they care most
about is 31-14, 23-14 and overall 0-2 Pac-12
@cougz4lifeAnd what will BYU's highlights be for the season...we
beat USU and UCF? I highly doubt you beat TCU, which is the only respectable
team left on your schedule. The utah highlights you pointed out seem much
better than the highlights (or lack thereof) have coming...
It might be wise for every fan of a Utah college football team to swear off the
smack talk for the rest of the season. The only reason any of the locals won
this week is because two of them played each other, so one of them had to win -
and it was an ugly game. What we have here is a junior high school
rumble of the geeks. Five different skinny and/or fat kids with glasses and
pocket protectors are calling each other nerds, while the really popular kids
and the jocks are just laughing at the whole little clique. This
week, any name calling among BYU, Utah and USU fans will only make the poster
Glad we could be your bowl game.Karma meet Utah.
With more than 9 minutes left in the game, I was surprised how many people
headed towards the exits. I was shocked, and confused. Homecoming, Second home
game, first home PAC game... I just cant believe how many people packed it up.
@jake2010Funny you say you can regularly compete with the big boys
but then you bring up the Miami game from 1990 to prove a point...classic. BTW
Miami and Oklahoma were very average teams both of those years.
Buck up Utes, You can't lose faith because of one bad game. BYU didn't, so you
can't either, and hopefully USU will start kicking some WAC teams around so all
three teams can finish the season well.
Navel Vet, SoCalUteFan, UtahcountyUte, what say U. Try to comment without
interjecting something about BYU which has nothing to do with this game. Man up
and tell the world how your team is not really as good as U thought. Tell us how
U think U will do next week. U have to know in the back of your minds that all
the other teams in the PAC want to welcome U to the Conf. of champs. without a
single win. Enjoy those home games boys. Sellouts huh? Lets counts heads with
2:00 let in the 4th quarter to see how the game really went.
BYU moved the ball easier against Utah than any team they have played so far.
Early in the second quarter, BYU had 210 yards to Utah's 80 and they already had
3 turnovers. Utah took advantage of what they were given so props to them, but
if you watched the game BYU was doing anything they wanted and Utah was getting
stuffed in the first half. When the offense came out in the second half and
turned it over again the defense lost it's heart. Yes, that should not happen,
but it did. The blowout was because of that, not because of a great Utah
offense. Both teams have a lot to work on.
@pac 12 luvs u-You would rather beat your rival by 44 than loose to
a PAC 10.2 team by 17? That seems silly. If it were reversed, you loose to BYU
by 44 and beat Washington by 17, you would still be in contention for the rose
bowl. Congrats on beating BYU 2 weeks ago, but it means nothing.
I think one thing that Utah and BYU fans can agree on is that both our teams
seem to be going nowhere this year. Sigh!
Beginning to wonder whether Utes will be bowl eligible? Had them pegged for the
Las Vegas bowl, but after today they may not make it. I'm really sad I missed
the game. Can someone tell me what channel it was on?
Our sorry team has won the past 2 against washington...... What a lame attempt
to stop your own bleading.
Cougar fans: I can give you 54 reasons why trash talking the Utes is a bad idea
and makes you look like fools.Ute fans knew that there would be some
bad games along the way. They can and will bounce back.
Loved the comment about the Utes being a 3rd place MWC team, especially since
that is what they were more often than not over the last 10 years. But that's
ok, 'cause now they are playing for the LV bowl...something that was never
available when they really did finish 3rd or worse in the MWC! The poinsettia
still isn't out of the question if you can find 5 wins? U are familiar with
that bowl right, since that is where you played so often as the 3rd place team
in the MWC?I know..."we're still in the Pac12" and
"54-10." Sounds like those might be the highlights of your season...
Dave S You will always have 54-10, that is until next year when BYU comes in to
RES and hands another PAC 10.2 bottom feeder another non-conf loss. You're not
really all that good. BYU was just really bad that night.
Grandpa use to say "Uncontrolled enthusiasm is like a paper fire, it flames
up as fast as it flames out." Utah simply spent too much of its energy on
the BYU rivalry game and they seem to have now flamed out. It may just be an
indicator of how Utah is going to do for the remainder of the season. One thing
is for sure, the Utes will need to prove they belong in the Pac 12 at some
point.USU is a solid team and today's Auburn win over So Carolina
shows it. I am glad Bronco has been reading my Desnews comments over the past
two weeks, about Doman going upstairs to call a game, using Tight Ends more and
giving Riley Nelson a shot in the USU Game. My suggested game plan for next week
is to go ahead and start Heaps, but if he misses his first 8 passes by 8 feet
again, then be quick to put in Nelson for his energy and leadership. I really
love armchair coaching from Socal!
Uteology The science of how U can't win when it matters. U are only as good as
your last win, and U saw your last win two weeks ago. As the losses pile up, you
will keep comparing everything to the Y, and that proves you U are a bitter
little hater. Man up and admit you just lost and stop making references to BYU.
BTW - BYU wins in SLC next year. You heard it here first.
@ A1994 wow U are a bitter little man. Your team just had their lunches handed
to them and all U can say is BYU can't beat TCU or Hawaii? Really? Would you
care to predict your first conference win? Better circle the OR. ST. game, U
might have a shot, then again, their athletes are most likely better than your
boys that like to play football. Pathetic.

Having a great time listening to the local post-game on KJR. The uties have
done what I swore could never happen: I actually rooted for the Huskies for once
in the many years I've lived here. Now there is a team in the PAC that is even
more whiney, delusional and entitled than they are. The post-game commentators
are being very unkind to the poor new little sisters of the league. I need to

After BYU's game, conference, and now the Ute game it kind makes me want to sing

As a BYU fan, part of me wants to laugh at the Utes tonight -- oh who am I

college football fan, I am disappointed by the Utes' loss tonight. You guys were
invited to an AQ conference. You are supposed to be proving that you belong.Hopefully you can turn it around for the rest of the season.
@ FL UTEI have to admit I was more excited to see Washington win
after reading the hordes of Anti-BYU posts after the BYU-USU game. So you're sitting at the big table now, huh? How do the crumbs on the floor
taste? (HINT: You're not one of the big boys yet, just like they used to call
one of the conferences in the mid-west "Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs," Utah is lapping at the crumbs on the carpet, not enjoying the
feast at the table. But that's ok, ASU and Arizona have done that for years,
along with Washington State. Now those three have the Utes and Colorado to take
the bottom-feeders positions and they can move up to the middle.)
Ouch. The Ute fans will feel that when they wake up in the morning.
Looks like the Utes would have a better shot at the Las Vegas Bowl if they were
still in the Mountain West Conference.
The big table that means nothing 9 months a year and isn't really much more than
a huge corporate scandal...... that during the 3 months, the quarter of a year
where it actually means something... So, Being ole miss of the pac-12 is
acceptable just because you are in with the big boys? Well, byu isn't
necessarily sitting with the big boys right now but they with regularity can
play with and beat even the current #1 in any given season. Beating a team in a
bowl game is nice but beating them during the season where it can ruin theirs is
even better! So, fans, which would you rather? crush alabama in the post season
or beat Miami and Oklahoma regular season?
Dorothy, we're not in the Mountain West Conference any more! Remember when Dick
Harmon tried to convince everyone that the MWC was better than the Pac-10?
Utes, You have a better team than the score shows. Just like BYU is a
better team than the last BYU/Utah game score. This game is further
proof that one can't have four turnovers (or seven) and beat a PAC-12 team. Now
that you have been humbled (like BYU), stomp on the rest of the PAC-12.I hope you also find a quarterback. FYI - USU has the best QB and runningbacks
in the State. Probably a good thing that you don't play them.Go

Utah's win against Alabama in a BCS Bowl Game and them also losing on the road

were two different teams, in two different seasons. The 2007 team was mediocre
the 2008 team was the ONLY undefeated team in the nation. BIG difference. The 2010 17-16 Ute win would be a fluke if BYU was 7-3 against Utah and
had bead-down the Utes 3 out of the last 8 years. Since, BYU hasn't managed to
beat Utah by more than 7 points since 1996 I can safely assume that the 3
miracle wins for BYU are more of a fluke than the norm.

will not perhaps even beat the highland rams if such a match up was to happen I
bet Highland could find a way to beat them!
Lotsa Cougs excited tonight, eh? Yes, we stunk it up tonight vs UW, but ya

bases that when you are jealous of what you don't have you are just waiting

other way around. Man how times have changed. I'm glad however that they have a
good cornerback mentality. After you get burned and burned badly, you have to
completely forget about how bad you looked. Now to the game. Utah got beat, and beat bad at every facet of the game. Man handled in the
trenches, poor tackling, terrible angles, untimely penalty's, and the turnovers
killed us. Props to Wash. who made all the plays. Utah lost this game because
Wash. took it from them. NO EXCUSES!!!!

Phranc,So what you are saying then is that Utah is really 0 and 2
since you cannot count wins against BYU or FCS teams.I'll go with
that. Utah is 0 and 2.

Any BYU fan reveling in this loss by Utah is an idiot. We've got nothing to
cheer about when it comes to turning the ball over. Even yesterday, a turnover
almost kept the Cougars from coming back. They're lucky they got another chance
after Di Luigi's fumble.Better luck in your next game Utah.
@ PhrancTypical Ute fan always comparing themselves to BYU. If you
re-read my comment I said nothing about BYU...
@ UteologyIf you want to label "fluke wins" you'd better
include last year's blocked field goal in Utah's 17 - 16 victory over BYU. You
know that was a fluke because when BYU did that in the Vegas Bowl against UCLA
all the Ute partisans said it was a fluke play, so you must agree that it also
was for the Utes to win that way, too.FYI- During the (this really
goes back) 1984 Holiday Bowl against Michigan BYU had 5 turnovers---but they had
a stellar defense and the Cougars still won the game. With parity in college
football it's easy to see that any team can have a bad day---BYU on Sept 17th
and Utah on Oct 1st---and that it isn't always a true refelection of their
season, just on that particular day against that particular opponent. How else
do you account for Utah's win against Alabama in a BCS Bowl Game and them also
losing on the road to UNLV 27 - 0? That's why you play the game and those who
gloated over BYU's bad game now have their own bitter medicine to swallow after
today. Welcome to intercollegiate athletics!
Vai was right. You Utes should have gone to General Conference.

There is a reason he wasn't in all year. They EEEEEEKed out a victory (on a
pure fluke deflected pass) against USU. Great. If they played that game 5
times, USU wins 4 out of 5. BYU will be LUCKY to go 8-4 this year. 7-5 is more

PhrancIt hurts taking one on the chin...doesn't it!
Just like the Cougars two weeks ago, the Utes gave up. Period. End of story.
Washingtond D is not that good and they shut down the Utes. The Utes D is
supposed to be great and got bowled over tonight. Washington was better from
top to bottom. The Ute look like an average middle of the pack team. I guess
that they can look to the year as a success because they beat BYU but not much
more. Luckily USC is on probation so they still have a shot at the Las Vegas
Bowl. This was a lack luster proformance all the way around. So much for the
great record after a bye. This team look out manned, out played, and espically
out coached tonight.
PhrancWhat does it say about Utah that lost so badly tonight? Maybe

playing after bye weeks including this season 6 - 1Utah now knows
what it feels like to be scored upon in the first minute (9 seconds, actually)

QB position, and they are probably realizing that playing a bowl in Vegas might
be a bright spot this season. No, wait, they did beat BYU----that's always
their #1 goal, stated or otherwise. They accomplished that one if nothing
else.......I still hold my prediction that it will take the Utes 3
years to amass 10 PAC 12 Conference wins. After next week, they may easily be 0

Some backup QB's are better than others. It's a crapshoot. The problem that I
have is that the coaching staff should have been more prepared for a Wynn injury

able to compete. That's the silver lining.

So to all you BYU fans talking it up I have a question if the u stinks so bad
what does that say about BYU that got their hats handed to them by the U two
short weeks ago?
Typo on my last comment. Not sure why I added "the" before I said
"Coach Whitt."I would like to see the Utes finish the
season somewhere between 8-4 and 10-2. If they finish at or below .500, it
doesn't make the Cougars look any better. GO UTES AND COUGARS AND
AGGIES!!!! Now that we've won and lost against each other, let's do all we can
to give the big wigs back east and on the west coast something for them to lose
Alert - Utes finish at 5-7 after surprising early bowl (in their brains)victory
that fooled everyone while the Cougars finish at 10-2 and are invited to a bcs
bowl. Go Cougars. Just a shame that Nelson didn't come out in the 2nd half
against Utah and Texas as byu might have finished in the top 5 or maybe even a
second national championship..alas we will never know
The difference between Utah and BYU is Utah loses because their QB gets hurt and
they don't have a good experienced backup. BYU loses because it has a good
experienced backup, but the coaches are not smart enough to recognize this.
I guess Washington's BYU coaches were just better than Utah's BYU coaches. :(
Hansen's graduation cannot come soon enough for Whitt and co. I smell roses,
Oh Ute fan just be prepared you might not win again till Oregon st. at the end
of Oct.Kyle, Norm and company be prepared your heads are going to
roll, ute fan not going to like this at all.. Norm your resume still should have
wet ink. Kyle your going to need to update.ASU 44Utes 10lol
Now now fellow BYU fans, just because Utah had to rub it in to us does't mean we
need to stoop to that level. Remember, most Utah fans are not that bad, I have
many Ute friends and not one of them rubbed it in. BYU never had a chance with 7
turnovers. Same for Utah, it is hard to win a game when you have so many
turnovers. Second, our Quarterback was not that great and it didn't help us at
all. Wynn got hurt and that handicapped Utah, even I will accept that. The only
people I care to laugh at is Chris B and johnjinglewhatever and MSG63 or
whatever his name is and all those others who constantly throw hate BYU's way.
For all the other Utah fans, sorry for the loss. Hope Utah recovers because it
is about to get a lot harder next week. Go Kyle, rally the boys and good luck.
Is it just me, or is there some mediocre football being played in the state of
Utah this year?? Reminds me of 2002..
This is plain and simple problem with not an easy fix. The Utes starting QB
cannot stay healthy and the coaching staff needs to move on and get a clean
slate of QB's for next year because if they believe Wynn can stay healthy, then
I may as well expect Heaps to be a down to earth team player. The
silver lining is that the Utes are competing well in my opinion against the Pac
12 competition but with a backup QB that has only been on the team four months,
you risk it and you pay the consequences for thinking that Wynn could stay
healthy. Once there options next year, things could change but Hays is not the
I was wrong ute fan I said the score would be 34-12 Huskies, my bad. At least I
can admit when I was wrong..Oh has anyone heard from Chris, Hedgie I
really am worried about them..lolNever to early:ASU 44Utes 10Mark it down Chris and Hedgie!
To Jordan Wynn, "5 turnovers, really? That sounds like a video game ha ha
he he"Wow, how can this be? but not to worry you Utes can now
say u gave Washington the win, and at home no less.
Sorry about the loss utes, I know how it feels, yes, 54-10. The good news is
that some of the Ute trolls will be quiet over on the BYU articles for a week or
If Jordan Wynn had played to whole game, and the final score wasn't any
different, I would be more prone to gloat over the Ute lose. But the fact is,
the Utes don't have a Riley Nelson type QB at backup and during the whole
off-season I knew the Coach Whitt and his staff were concerned about this. The fact is, if Wynn isn't playing the Utes are going nowhere. As a
Cougar fan, this doesn't give me any satisfaction. If the Utes lose, I want them
to be at full strength.Get well fast Jordan Wynn. Love, a BYU Cougar
As most fans thought, Wynn is just too fragile to survive a full season in the
PAC 12. Hays had a nice drive in garbage time, but I'm afraid Utah's slim
chances of winning the PAC 12 south are now none existent.
bwaahahahahahaahahChris BNo BCSNo Rose BowlNo Pac
championshiphurts don't it?
Look guys, I didn't watch the game because of priesthood session but it sounds
rough. There are things I want to say because they are building up inside of me
but that wouldn't be wise. Anyway, tough lose, we know how that goes to get a
lot of turnovers and have a bad game, but you guys will get better. You have a
quality team and I am not worried about you guys. Good luck next week against
ASU. Go Cougs!
Ok was cleaning out my sock drawer and watching college scoreboard, when they
started talking about the"beatdown" that Washington put on Utah and
how Utah had 5 turnovers and all can say is .........hahahahahahaha, oh and one
At least our backup quarter back can get the job done.
Well, at least unlike BYU, Utah still has a conference championship to play for.
Errrr, check that! Hey atl 134 dontcha think having only one "real
option" at qb is a mark of either A: Bad recruiting or B: Bad planning?
Nobody to blame but themselves. Oh, and by the way, yes I know 54-10!
Tough game tonight, you guys. But one game does not a season make -- unless you
let it. Good luck next week!
For those ute fans with cougar venom, serves you right! Ute defense is to good
for the Huskies?Maybe Chris B won't post for a year.
We now know that the utes know what the back of the woodshed looks like. Gotta
feeling they will see alot of it...
Maniacal laughter! Thank you Steve Sarkisian!!!
This Utah offense the last 2 years chokes in big games, it's not one player it's
the whole offense. This game should have been 21 to 0 at half time, but they
choked. Again. I hope they get it together somehow because they are killing me.
@Parkite"The Utes fluke victory against the Cougars"I am sure on some planet in the universe that losing by 17 while your only QB
with collegiate experience gets injured is humiliating while losing by 44 is
merely a fluke. The only problem with this rationale is that this planet is
Let's see, how we supposed to react? Oh yeah..."Washington
didn't win. Utah gave it away. If they played again next week, it would be a
Duckhunter:"Maybe if you guys were living right on and off the field,
and attending the preisthood session....."I know, I thought the
same thing. It is so priceless imagining all those Ute fans that chose the
game over conference. Totally priceless!Way to go Sarkisian!
@ DuckhunterHow can you say Utah fans are going to sit here and
pretend we are the better team when BYU fans are notorious for saying they are
the better team after every loss, even after a 54-10 loss! Anyways, that
is beside the point...Utah was outplayed by a team that was much more prepared
and had an offensive line that destroyed our d line. Utah needs to step up
their level of play for 4 quarters! A true BCS team would be deep enough to run
the ball effectively , and a backup qb that could at least keep the game close.
This will take some time and Utah will be fine in the future. We will need to
use this year for experience and make a run for the top of the Pac 12 south (may
be a little optimistic, but I believe kyle can turn it around). GO UTES!!
Uteology: "made us look like a a [sic] 3rd place Mountain West
team"Utah is a 3rd place MW team, Utah's just part of the
Pac-12 now. I'm disappointed the Utes lost; hopefully they can pull out a win
against ASU next week.
Talking point 4Not an anomaly. Utah is better than BYU.One
could make a case that this game reflects how tough it will be for Utah in the
Pac 12... and that means it would be even harder for BYU in the Big 12 (wasn't
that invite supposed to come today?)
@Football fanatic"Wow! What happened to BYU a couple of weeks is now
happening to Utah! "Yep, same thing, except our only real
option at QB got injured, his backup is what resulted in the two second half
turnovers that finished us off, and we still tried in the 4th quarter. Other
than that the exact same thing happened.
Those turnovers really hurt, don't they?
Talking points:1 - Former BYU quarterback leads Huskies to a
"W".2 - Rose Bowl tickets for sale if you get online early.3 - It's great being in the conference of champions with all the big boys.4 - The utah win over BYU last week was an anomaly.5 - After the ASU
game next Saturday utah will be 0-3 (dead last) in conference play. 6 -
Six is the number of wins required for ANY Bowl. Any bets?
Wooohew go Huskies, 0-7 Utes wheras the COugs are 4-4 against Washington! Yes
indeed welcome to the PAC. The Utes fluke victory against the Cougars will be
their bowl hope you enjoyed it Ute fans. Losses will come against asu, pitt,
cal, and ariz too. Yes I love it the Utes will join colorado, ogegon state as
bottom dwellers of the pac for years to come. what a great weekend the cougs
win and the utes get smacked. love'n life
Utah welcome to the PAC 12
Regardless of how bad our offense was ALL props go to Washington. That is one
whopping Washington put on our defense. They destroyed our rush defense, made
us look like a a 3rd place Mountain West team.Again big props to
Washington, they absolutely destroyed us.No time for crying though,
it's time to get ready for ASU.Go UTES!!!
Tonight we are all huskies. Go Washington! Love it!
Here is what happened tonight that is the difference between the Pac 12 and the
MWC. Tonight would have been a night where we play poorly but inch out a win @
new mexico or wyoming in the MWC. In the Pac that does not happen.. we have to
get ready for this level of play every single week!
Wow. Washington 31 - Utah 7, with 5 turnovers!? I don't care who U are, that's
just Karma right there.
Karma, anyone? I don't mean this necessarily for the team, but I
thought many gloating fans would be humbled today.
Utah has no excuses for playing such a bad game --especially after a bye week.
Wow! What happened to BYU a couple of weeks is now happening to Utah!
Hmm, I guess NOW I can get my choice of blueberry or cherry TURNOVERS at that
store to honor our local teams.
Utah is proving they are not yet BCS caliber... they cannot let this ruin their
season and we still have to go out and compete against the Cal, UCLA, Colorado
and Arizona type teams. I hope we can get those wins but we will see. This is
our 1st year in the pac and it may take time to adjust to the higher level of
play. To think we could come in and win the Pac 12 south was unrealistic and I
now realize that. Lets not let this loss ruin our season...
Maybe if you guys were living right on and off the field, and attending the
preisthood session.....Just kidding. This is just what happens when
you turn the ball over and have a qb that can't get it done. Trust us BYU fans,
we saw this a couple of weeks ago. I'll sit back and wait to hear how you
outplayed them and gave the game away despite being better.LOL!
Ute fans don't care their gonna go 0 for 2 in the PAC, they still reference the
Y? Wow, PAC 12 cellar dwellers, but were ok with that, cause were the best team
Put Riley in!
have I missed something what happened to Wynn
Good luck Utah. I wish I could get this game -- it looks like an exciting one.
Hope you have a great 2nd half!
Come on Utes! Show them what you've got!
The Utes should win this game. There D is just too good for Washington to
handle. Just pretend that Polk is Jake Heaps and they will be fine. If not,
they can always look forward to Oregon State.
Come on Utes!! We have been outplaying Wash for most of the game. Break it open
in the 2nd half!
4 min. left in the half. Two fumbles deep in WA territory - that hurts bad.If (big if) utah goes on to defeat the Huskies, all I can say is join
the club - the Cougs already know what it feels like. Go Huskies.
Okay good stop there on 4th down, now maybe the early-game jitters can be worked
out on offense.
