Herriman is a great team and is well coached. Look to them to play on the turf. So happy for the Eagles!!! Still not a big fan of the jerseys, but they are growing on me :)

put out a missing person report for Benzo

he is prob eating a little crow for breakfast right about now.

either way....sounds like a great game (and Beenzo its OK to have passion for your team-one game doesnt not make a season unless its for the 4A Championship in November)....

This made my night, thank you skyline. I went to the bingham riverton game and riverton is a below average football team. I wanted to see how good of a win the riverton win was for herriman. It wasnt to barely beat the team I saw last night isnt impressive at all.

Don't worry Herriman it took skyline a couple of years before they went on and started winning their gazillion state titles. there is some hope that one day you two can rise up and be a true dynasty not just a team that talks about it. Go Eagles

Props to the Skyline Booster Club - the white jerseys look sweet. (a lot better than the blue ones)

Side note - When they started Herriman High School, couldn't they have come up with a better color scheme and mascot?

Love my Eagles. I'm wondering if these parents still want to fire Dupaix?

We would all love a fast start to the season but it doesn't usually happen at Skyline. We're just getting warmed up baby. Congrats Coaches and Players

This is some funny stuff. If the Herriman loss made your day...then you must have some pretty uneventful days! Its one thing to rep your own team and its another to dog out another team.

The game turned out exactly as I had thought...Herriman just ended up on the wrong side of the score. This week I said win or lose, the game would be close and would be decided in the 4th quarter on a defensive stop...well that's exactly what happened.

I'm not eating crow, because crow wasn't served up. Everyone on here talked about Herriman getting blown out, losing by 20 and all other nonsense. The fact of matter is...Herriman can play with Skyline and any team in 4A. If anyone thinks Herriman didn't belong on the same field as Skyline they are crazy. A long medical delay and mental mistakes stopped Herriman's momentum and eventually led to the loss.

My outlook on the season still remains the same...the Region 7 crown...the only difference...need some help from Olympus after we beat them and some help from Westlake now!

Still see Herriman in that Region 7 #1 spot...maybe #2 spot.

Your right I did have a very uneventful night after watching binghams jv team beat that same team you beat by 1 point. It was boring, but dont make an excuse like that. Skyline must have done just fine with the injury timeout.

Benz: They obviously showed they could play with Skyline. I wouldn't be so sure they will beat Oly though. What will be interesting is how these young kids handle a loss now.

so much for 10-0 and 14-0. At some point Herriman may contend for titles, especially if they get their "rugby" team going and can keep brining in good talent, but for now the mustangs should be happy with putting a good team on the field and winning some games.

I did not think any thing could out do the JV game the night before but the Varsity game did it in spades. Great game, I hated to see any body lose but I am glad my Eagles came out on top.

Herriman is for real folks lets not take our hard earned win for granted. This was a huge test for the Mighty Eagles and things are looking better but let's not forget we have two huge games to close the regular season with Westlake and Oly. The region championship is not ours yet and were not finished, not by a long shot.

Come on Eagles keep your heads on straight, stay humble and let's get this done!

Go EAGLES!!!

how nice it must be to make unfounded accusations on here with no one to answer to. The guy running the rugby program is the same one who was at Highland Rugby for years. How many players in all those years who played for Highland Rugby, and went to other schools, ever ended up coming to Highland football from out of boundary? Didn't happen. Can you give me one name of a Herriman Varsity player who has been recruited from out of boundary through rugby? I didn't think so. Herriman is a single school rugby program, which means only kids that go to Herriman can play for the High School rugby team. Every single starter on last year's 9th/10th/11th rugby team had already played football for Herriman the previous year, either at the high school or in Ute Conference. Your accusation is completely without merit.

@BigBenzo88

I have noticed posts authored by you on not just articles specifically related to Herriman, but on all general high school articles. The claim was made in this thread that you have been right all along ("The game turned out exactly as I had thought...Herriman just ended up on the wrong side of the score..."). Going through those past posts, the claim is being thrown out there that Herriman would beat Skyline and Olympus and go undefeated en route to a 14-0 season. Herriman is a great team, you should take care of Olympus, but don't overlook quality programs. Westlake should give you everything and more.

Best of luck

footballisgood, are you saying that Herriman rugby won't allow kids from out of boundary to play, yet football will? That doesn't make a ton of sense. I'm just going off of what people are saying, other high school coaches, parents of football/rugby players, etc. so I don't know first-hand what is "really" going on, but it sounds like they are doing what they can to build a good system out at Herriman. I've got nothing against them bringing in kids from out of boundary as long as they don't do it like Jordan or Cottonwood does it.

Look to Skyline to run the table. Hillcrest and Westlake are both down. Oly hasn't played anyone and will be a blowout to bring the rock home!

@Golden Helmet - This is where you and a lot of posters on here have taken my posts incorrectly. For the past 7 weeks I have said that I believe Herriman has the best chance in 4A to go 14-0, the best chance in 4A to go 10-0 and the best chance in Region 7 to win the title. I didn't guarantee it would happen...just said we had the best chance.

Most people were saying we would get killed by Skyline, but at the end of the game....Skyline was "relieved" to get the win. Even the fans said that after 2nd quarter they were shocked that Herriman was playing so good and that they had underestimated the team.

I played for 15 years at almost every level. I know what to look for in players and teams...and Herriman is a good team. They will make they playoffs, get Region 7 crown or runner up and don't be surprised if they get to Rice-Eccles. Next year they will be a pre-season favorite for the Region 7 crown and for the 4A Championship.
