BYU fans I would like you to refer to Worf's first couple of posts as wo why
Utah fans are on here. Your troll not ours have a good day.
@BlueHusky,Of course Doman has his reasons to play Heaps, pride. He's
saving face having opened his mouth prematurely and knighting this prima donna.
Regardless what you're seeing in the mainstream press, the team has
no faith in the boy as a leader. Who has to see Lark play to know that Heaps is
horrible? He has no work ethic behind the fanfare, so say actual
teammates. Exactly what happens when something is gifted, not earned. If
nothing else, Lark has worked his butt off at a D1 level since 2006.
@worfyou are the byu fan on these boards. texas isnt even a good team this
year so get off their jock! you sound like a grade school little boy. utah
woulda beat byu either way take away the t.o.s and they still win. utah had
t.o.s too but what did byu do with them??? absolutely nothing!! quit actin like
the turnonvers were the whole game. most of them didnt happen until really late
in the game anyways so get over yourself and actually play the game before you
sound dumb like you just did.
Wally West, When U actually win a game in your conference, come on back and talk
about your greatness. U beat a team that has been unanimously(by ute fans) as
mediocre mid-major without a hope of ever sniffing a BCS bowl. So What? U have a
long season and ASU will destroy u. It will be fun to read the excuses about

Awesome job defense and running backs! A win is a win!
B | 10:00 p.m. Sept. 24, 2011 Centerville, UT I didn't use
"ifs" or "butts" in my past posting. I am concerned about
Heaps and it seems BYU has to simplify things for him. It's not that Doman is a
bad OC. The Aggies don't have the defenses of Texas, Ole Miss, or UCF. The
utes didn't need one. BYU's defense is good enough to hold the Ags to seventeen
points and the cougs will have some offensive improvement. History has proven
that. The Ag's will have the shortened week and a away bus ride is as long as a

@worf "If 'if's' and 'buts' were candy and nuts, we'd all have
a party."I watched the whole game on Friday. Whatever Heaps
had the last half of the season last year is gone. They can't move the ball.
They started to get a little traction against UCF in the run game. (('m sure
the fact that UCF was playing at a high altitude probably wore them down.) But
Heaps' passes were more often than not, behind or way over his receivers.USU lost tonight, but I still think they will beat BYU next Friday.
Thank goodness for BYU's ST and Defense...The running game looked better,
especially in the second half. I was at the game and focused in on Heaps alot,
his problem is really pretty simple...he just gets too antsy in the pocket and
rushes alot of his throws. I donno if he just gets too excited when a receiver
is open or if he is just not trusting his OL. He needs to settle down, set his
feet and make throws. Until he fixes this he will continue to overthrow,
underthrow, and throw behind receivers.
Bronco was right last year. It's ideal to start a quarterback who's learned the
ropes, shown leadership, and earned the respect of his teammates. Is
there anyone who thinks that a team led by Riley Nelson couldn't have gone 7-6
in 2010? I understand Nelson got hurt and Heaps got the gig full-time, but the
way it all went down showed indecisiveness and lack of leadership on Bronco's
part (which he's admitted).Thing is, we're used to having redshirt
freshmen or sophomores start at QB at BYU, but usually after they've served a
mission first. Heaps probably should be in South America preaching the Gospel,
maturing into a leader.Having said all of that, we have what we
have. A lot of the lack of performance / confidence by Heaps comes from having a
new OC, and not a lack of talent on Heaps' part. Changing quarterbacks now is
not the right move.It is apparent Doman has too much on his plate to
be both the OC and QB coach. DETMER FOR QB COACH or OC!!! Pay him whatever it
takes to get him to Provo next year!
The problem at BYU is a quarterback problem. They don't have one.
A1994,Some reasons:1. Utah State doesn't have the
defense of Texas of Ole Miss.2. With seven turnovers, that's seven times
the offense didn't have the ball. That's why the low scoring. Can't have an
offense when you haven't got the ball. The utes would be awful if they didn't
win with those gifts. The two rushing touchdowns were also flukey gifts as the
defense were down and reacting to all the turnovers. Texas didn't even have
those kinds of runs and have a superior running game to the utes.3. With
less turnovers and additional modifications, thirty one points are not out of
Most games are won or lost based on a few key plays. Heaps keeps on missing on
making those plays by overthrowing a reciever, poorly timed throws, or
interceptions. BYU cant win by throwing away those opportunities. Doing better later on against Idaho State wont cut it either.Doman
needs to focus on QB and maybe give someone else a chance. Heaps should focus on
the mental part of the game and either improve or watch from the sidelines for a
To Uties and BluBooBirds,A win is a W. Period. Utah beat BYU last
week. Was it because of 7 turnovers? Sure it was. Eliminate the turnovers and
who knows. But they got the turnovers and the W.BYU gets the W for
beating UCF. Would they have won without Hoffman's run? We don't count this win
because UCF turned it over? No. We count the W.At the end of the
year, the only thing that counts is W's. That all a team can do.The
TEAM got the win. Including Heaps. Lay off the kid and give him a chance. If the
coaches decide to try Lark, that is their job. Not yours. You don't know what
your talking about. If Heaps isn't ruined, he'll be very very good. Maybe in a
game or two. What he doesn't need is BYU fans bagging on him. Remember how happy
the ute fans were when Kyle pulled Win. Didn't last long, and lucky for them.
The other guy sucked. None of us have seen Lark play a down. If Doman is playing
Heaps, he has his reasons.
Idablu,You said,"Why do you and the many other Ute
fans wish so much ill will on BYU."I don't. In fact I wish them
well. I stated in an earlier post that I was happy they got some breaks last
night. However, I do feel sorry and embarrassed for this team. I can't remember
a BYU offense that looked as horrible as this offense. You also
said,"The Ute football team proved they are much better than
the BYU football team last week. So why do you and so many other trolls care
about this game and the rest of BYU's schedule?"I don't care
about the rest of their schedule. I stated that I would watch the USU game
(because I live in Aggie country) and that would be it. Their product is boring,
they have nothing to play for, and there are mostly cupcakes left on the
schedule anyway. [yawn]Again I'm happy for BYU and its fans that
they got a win last night. Seriously.Enjoy the rest of your season.
I'll be exclusively following my Utes from here on out.Cheers
Doman and Heaps are by far the best thing to happen to BYU since Crowton. Don't
change a thing.
@worfWhere, exactly, is BYU going to get 31 points against USU? The
ONLY reason they won last night is because of their special teams and defense.
Maybe Jake Heaps and BYU will suddenly discover their offense in the next week.
I'm betting not. I would be very surprised to see BYU score more than 21
points.USU 38BYU 21
I laugh at the Ute Trolls who claim the better team won when Utah Beat BYU, yet
belittle BYU's win over UCF. The teams that gave up the most turnovers lost in

Cougars - Wise Older Brothers you are joking right little brother.....
Well bring on chuckie Keaton. I'm optimistic our linebackers will light him up
Congrats BYU on the victory. At 2-2, and with games vs Idaho, Idaho
State, NMSU, and SJSU, BYU is practically bowl eligible. However, I for one
think it's nice to see the delusional-optimism return to so many Y fans though,
insisting that BYU will finish 10-2 and that would indicate they are better than
Utah. Oh boy. Hope springs eternal...A few thoughts, some of them
more obvious than others, even for folks from Mcallen, Tx:1) If Heaps can
ever develop some touch, he will have been worth the investment.2) Doman
in the box is better than Doman on the field.3) Contrary to what the Y
fans were saying in August, Utah State will be a tough match-up for them next
week. 4) UCF is a decent mid-major team. But they are not to be confused
with USF, which is in the Big East. Perhaps, maybe someday they too will be in
the Big East, but for now they are not "AQ"5) Saying BYU is 1-2
vs AQ teams and that Utah is 0-1, does not indicate BYU is better than Utah.
@worfhahahaha seriously 31 points....what makes you think Heaps is even
capable of doing that? The offense hasn't shown ANYTHING to make me think they
could put up 31 against High school team let alone a Utah state team that
humiliated you last year. You would think one of the worse losses in the
Utah/BYU rivalry would bring some fans down to earth but I guess a very ugly win
against CFU makes them think they are a National powerhouse again, that's as big
of a joke as Bronco saying "It's a great day to be a cougar".
As it is with basketball, the two best teams in Utah will play this coming
Friday, and by years end, both will own the best win-loss records in the state.
Because a bitter flukey ute win:BYU 31USU 17
Alright, let's be honest fellow Cougars, our defense and special teams carried
us to the win last night. If not for that, we are 1-3 right now. Our defense
is actually very good. They have played very well for 14 of the 16 quarters
(minus the 2nd half to the Utes) so far this season. It is time for
us to face the fact that Heaps is not going to be very good. I have been on
board with him since early last year when Riley Nelson was very clearly not the
answer. But the more I watch him, the more I realize he isn't improving at all.
In fact, I think he is getting worse. His arm is excellent, so he is deceiving
to watch. It is his decision-making that is the problem. In addition, he is so
impatient in the pocket, he won't ever let the play develop. He takes a 3 step
drop and fires virtually every down. In fact, he reminds me of how bad Matt
Leinart was for the Cardinals...always checking down. It is time
for Lark to be given a chance. And let's settle on a running back, shall we??
@thomas jefferson - I'll bet you never played football. Just about any time a
defensive or special teams player gets a chance they will pick up a loose ball
and try to advance it. The adrenalin is going and you don't stop to ask
yourself or the ref if it's ok to advance to ball into the end zone. Nearly
everytime I have seen a muffed kick/punt and the players have a chance to pick
it up and go, they try it. Picking it up and advancing does not get
penalized.Your other assumption about what players should know in
the excitement of the moment assumes that every player on the field saw the
actual mishandling and knew for a fact that the reason the ball was free is
because it was a 'muffed' punt as opposed to a fumble. Many players were
fighting off blockers and may not have seen the actual mishandling. The end zone celebration was not that much different that what happened six
days ago but officiating crews are flag happy while others are less so.Bottom line, you're just reaching for something to rag about.
REALLY??? You mean after a few coaches get fired and the team is still
wondering who their leader really is? HE ISN'T A LEADER!!
It's funny to listen to all the Heaps haters out there. By the end of the
season when BYU finishes off their WAC schedule all will be praising St Heaps
just like after the New Mexico Bowl last year.BYU needs to act like
they have been there before not jumping around like you won the super bowl vs a
cusa team with a hurt QB. Winning is Winning but really???
Central Florida is like playing Weber State and BYU needs help from special
teams to win?? Oh my gosh what has happened to the BYU offense? It appears to me
that one of two things has happened.1. Doman isn't cutting the
mustard. Compare the BYU offense during the Anae years to this year.. no
comparison. 2. BYU's O-line and running game are the worst ever. So Utah State should have beaten Auburn @ Auburn - they were ahead with only
minutes to play and Auburn got a lucky on sides kick to win. I am picking Utah
State KILLS BYU next week 38 - 24. BYU's program is in trouble.
Re: ThomasJeffersonWe still recovered the muffed punt. That is still
a huge play! It was the big momentum swing which gave BYU the lead an ultimately
the win. If you can't appreciate that then you are not a real football fan, and
us real fans would prefer that you not ruin the experience for everyone else.
I see that our BYU-obsessed little brothers continue to spam EVERY BYU blog. It will never matter whether Utah is in a "better" conference,
makes a gazillion more $$$ every year, is higher ranked, gets better recruits,
has a better record, goes to a better bowl, or destroys BYU on the Cougars home
field.EVERYTHING Utah does must always be measured against BYU.Once a little brother, always a little brother.
They interview Heaps like is some kind of team leader or something... he needs
to earn that role, and by his play, he is not even close. Heaps said he
admitted he didn't play "great." What? Are you kidding me? Admit
that you were horrible. Heaps is delusional.
Out of four games, Heaps has been the second best quarterback out there in
each... actually, he was third best last night.
I was one of those who was propping up Jake Heaps all last season thinking he
would be one of the best out of BYU but now I must admit I am disappointed big
time and he is proving himself to be nothing more than average at best. I
watched a little of the replay of the game last night and wow he was off. And
every time he threw it a mile over anyones head they would cut back to him
standing there like he just woke up to find out that Santa Clause isn't real.
Bronco needs to get some backbone and require accountability as has been said.
Instead of requiring "execution" . With that said I still would take
Heaps over Wynnie any day ever!
BYU has a 50/50 chance of winning or losing against USU in Provo next week.
They will get destroyed by TCU in a few weeks.
BYU fans should knock it off about the Utes being a fluke. The Utes whipped BYU.
Heaps is not very good, just telling the truth. The coaching staff ay BYU
is lacking and I like Bronco but Dorman is a mistake. You don't learn on the job
at this level. Aggies will be tough.
I see illogical arguments from both BYU and Utah fans on here. Many fans make
excuses after horrible losses. BYU fans did it after the September 17 game, just
like many Utah fans did after the Utah-TCU disaster last November. A true fan,
however, stands behind his team and doesn't give up on them after one or two
losses. I actually cheer for both teams, but I do think BYU has a better chance
at having a better record by the end of the year. I fear that many Utah fans are
also in denial about how difficult their season is really going to be. Of
course, I am mature enough to admit that I could be wrong on my predictions.
With this said: Go Cougars and Go Utes!
Re: Don IraA lot of interesting things happened in this game but
your complaint is that the players were dogpoling to celebrate? Let me clarify
what happened.Firstly, the rules say that you can't advance a muffed
punt, and so that is why there was no TD, not because the players were
celebrating.Secondly, this is FOOOTBALL! And these are college kids,
and it is EXCITING! Are you one of those West stands fans who act like it's a
golf tournament? If so then I guess you should go to the locker room and tell
those young hooligans to grow themselves up.At any rate, glad for
the win, and keep that passion for the game Cougs!

@sammygyou keep bringnin up montana st. hmm but yet you forget to look at

D'Anconia--"I am amused by the few trolls (notice I'm not throwing in all
BYU fans in with his lot. . ."Newsflash, D'Anconia, this is an
article about a BYU Football game in which BYU won. It has nothing about U of
U.About half of the posts on here are from insecure Utah fans who are
unhappy about the BYU win. Just who do you think the trolls really are? Why do
you and the many other Ute fans wish so much ill will on BYU. The Ute football
team proved they are much better than the BYU football team last week. So why do
you and so many other trolls care about this game and the rest of BYU's
schedule? I have a lot of respect for the Utah football team. Their
fans--not so much.
Uteology,So that means Montana High is not a big time win is it?Nor a "BCS" win over a very very poor Pitt team. So you only have
one credible BCS win then right?
I watched a little bit of the BYU game last night. I really want them to run the
table this year so Utah will look better. I think BYU fans should root for Utah
as well. Both teams can only benefit from the other's success. With that
being said, i have a few things to say in reaction to the posts i've seen on
here:1- Montana State is not better than UCF.2- As far as how
they've played this year against mutual opponents, I'm gonna say that Utah looks
much better than Texas, despite Texas's ranking. We'll see how the Utah-UCLA
game goes. 3- Utah's Strength of Schedule is much tougher than BYU's. 4- Jake Heaps should gain some swagger the second half of the season.5-
Utah beating BYU 54-10 indicates that Utah is much better than BYU.6- BYU
beating UCF 24-17 indicates that BYU is better than UCF.
Uteology,I was wondering how long it would take for some u fan to
bring up 1984 and our National Championship. u fans will always be jealous of it
and will continue because they will NEVER be a National Championship team except
in women's gymnastics. They will harp, spin, denigrate and anything else to try
to be the "Big Brother", but it is about the race and winning, and BYU
won. The battle is the year to year games. The war was who would win the NC
trophy and BYU won it many years ago and ever since, the u has been trying to
catch up and they just can't and won't and so that is why they are so angry with
BYU and their fans.Give it up u fans. You lost the war and no
spinning will change it. We look forward to more years of battles, but the
ultimate goal was won by BYU.
@ sammyg | 9:19 a.m. Sept. 24, 2011 Springville, UT Here's the
only comparison you should need. Head to head 54-10 and at LES no less.
Good food, family, friends and football.I did not wake up this
morning angry, and calling for anyone's job. That being said.I guess I bought into the pre-season hype a little more this year than I
usually do.The reality is that last summer I had BYU at 1-3, to 3-1
at this point of the season. I can live with 2-2.Heaps should not be
benched. That would be a short sighted, knee-jerk reaction. I would be
disappointed if BYU went that way. The kid is the future of BYU football. The coaching staff is inexperienced, but will learn on the job.I watch BYU play because I like BYU. Too bad more people can't just enjoy the
game.Props to the staff and players for all of the hard work they
My only dislike of BYU is there fans who jumped ship faster than anything I have
ever seen . Hey do I think Jake had a great game, no! however, he is making
steps and he will lite it up soon and when he does you fans who hate now go away
and don't get back on. I don't know what is worse Chris b and the rest of the
BYU haters or our own fans?
Time to send Jake Hypes to the pressbox too. He might learn a few things
watching from up top:- When your receivers have beaten the coverage by ten
yards, don't overthrow them by ten more yards- when they run 5 and outs,
don't throw at their feet- when they run across the middle, don't throw 5
yards behind them or ten yards in front- when they are standing five yards
away, don't throw as hard as you possibly can-when there are more
defenders than receivers in the area and the receivers are being smothered, look
somewhere else - you just ain't 'that' goodBronco, stop defending
him. You say in the press conference that his throws are accurate and he's
making good reads. You said he had only a handful of errant passes. Watch some
game film please. Yeah, about five passes were dropped, but another 13 passes
(38 percent) were errant or bad decisions. Stop blaming everyone else but him.
He'll never learn accountability if you don't hold him to it. If you think he's
too immature to handle constructive criticism then play someone more mature and
give him some time to grow into it.
...We had to earn it...--Jake Heapshahaha...you did not earn it. UCF
gave the game away.
BYU fans: allow me to say that when you claim that UCF is a better team than
Utah, it only makes your own team look worse. UCF may have been better than Utah
last year, but I don't think it's the case this year. UCF has beaten a terrible
Boston College team and an FCS team, and they lost to FIU, who, in the past 10
years, have never won more than 7 games in a season in the mighty Sun Belt
Conference. You got a win, which is good news, but it's really
nothing to boast about. If I were in your position, I'd be grateful that my team
is 2-2 and that's it. What are you going to say next week if USU
comes to town and takes care of business?
@sammyg"Montana St. < UCF Why? Because we've been told
numerous times by Ute fans that an AQ team is always better."Sammy, UCF is not an AQ team. They are members of Conference USA. In fact,
their entire football program is only a few years old. ;)
There has to come a time when the coaches have to bench Heaps. He does have a
strong arm, but absolutely nothing else. He is much more of the offense problem
than Doman. Doman did call a better game last night. Heaps is just a terrible
QB. We have all babied him too much. It's time to sit him down with his parents
and recommend he attend class and get an education. He is going to have to get a
real job to support his family just like the rest of us. Please bring in Lark.
The defense and special teams can't win all the games.
Beautiful game, beautiful night. The W stands for Win not warts.
Now, I was just wondering.....did BYU win this game? Or did CFU hand the game to
them. Is BYU not really the better team and only capitalized on turnovers
because CFU (the better team) decided to GIVE the game to them? Or did BYU win
this game? Was BYU the better team, who beat the spread (barely) and stepped up
and won? I'm just wondering, because some of you seem to have difficulty with
the problem of what constitutes a win or a loss. Many on this thread seem to
think that the superior program went out and did what it was supposed to do last
night. Yet about a week ago, in the same town, some just couldn't seem to see
things that way. Hmm.
Amazing, that BYU could play a team that committed more turnovers they they.
Have to hand it to BYU for being so consistent in turnovers from year-to-year.
sportsfanforlife... and just because a team is in the Pac 10.2 does
not give them the title of being a good team either.Montana St. <
UCF Why? Because we've been told numerous times by Ute fans that an AQ team is
always better. And Boise St and TCU are what?Which side
of the mouth are you talking out of this week?
I for one would never say we are better than the Utes because they trashed us
this year. We don't have an offense that much is true. We do have a defense
though. Don't think that the Utah game was a bad defensive showing from BYU. It
is hard to compete when your offense gives the ball to the other team 7 times. I
don't know of any team who would win a game with 7 turnovers especially when a
few of them are in their own territory. So, I give the Ute defense a lot of
credit for how they played against BYU, now give the credit for this game where
it belongs. Don't say lucky, just accept that the defense took this game from
UCF like Utah took the game from BYU.
@north summitole miss is not a good team! and the funny thing is even the
number 1 or number 2 teams open up with a weak schedule every year! if YOURE
goin to talk smack get your facts straight BRUH. just cause ole miss is in the
sec doesnt give them a title of a good team.
D'Anconia that is pretty ironic that it is found in 54:10, don't you think?
BYU looked very up for this contest. Defense has lots of potential, but must get
better communication in the backfield, those long throw plays seemed to all be
just blown coverage. But, the D looks pretty solid and they hit way hard.Offense is OK...but, Heaps is no Ty Detmer. Strong arm and a weak
mind...probably best for some shovel ready job...Overall, B for
BYU...there is potential for a pretty good team...but you need to try a new
Dear Jake Heaps,I would like to share a scripture with you. It is found in D&C 54:10"And again, be patient in
tribulation"I promise you are going to "look" a lot
better in the weeks to come. I give you a 100% Hostess Cupcake satisfaction
guarantee on that! Now go out there and realize that "explosive
potential"! Heap on them yards! You got it baby!
jarka, Really? Rule of thumb, if a team beats you 54-10...yes 54-10 then they
are the better team that year! It's has nothing to do with the rest of either
teams schedule, just head to head. Get over it there is nothing you can say that
makes it any better for byu. The 'Utesies" as you call them are the better
I am amused by the few trolls (notice I'm not throwing in all BYU fans in with
his lot :D) trying to argue that BYU is a better team than Utah. Last night's
AMAZING win must have boosted their confidence. Thanks for the laugh!
Utah beat byu 54- 10 ....in Provo..therefore that means byu is better than
P.S. Why BYU is so committed to Heaps is beyond me. It seems like it is time to
give the other guys a shot.
@UteologyHigher ranking doesn't always mean better.-----------"Absolutely true, see 1984 for details."At least BYU HAS a 1984. It's something Utah doesn't and probably never
will have. Busting the BCS was impressive, but it isn't a national
championship. The reality is that both BYU and Utah have mediocre
teams. Neither are very good. My hope this year is that Utah State isn't
another mirage and that at the end of the year, they will be in the Top 25 and
that BYU and Utah are both 6-6. Just to bring a little humility back to some of
Observations:Preston Hadley should be starting. Hands down, he's
outplayed Eason. The running backs in general need to hit the holes
harder, they're running tentatively most of the time and missing chances to
break big runs as a result. The line and tight ends need to block
better. Lots of sloppy blocking has led to running plays going 2-3 yards that
could have been 8-9 yards easily.Jake Heaps is throwing a LOT of
passes behind and ahead of receivers. He's miles behind where he needs to be,
and it's time to take the 'future star' label off - he's a 19 year old kid
that's struggling to make reads and deal with the bigger, faster college game.
Even the best BYU QB's were not immune to criticism from Lavell Edwards after
poor showings, and Heaps should be no different. The defense as a
whole is improving game by game. They did a great job shutting down UCF's
running game and forcing them to pass.Overall, 2-2 isn't a bad place
to be, at this stage of the season. But the issues are real and need to be
rectified, now, or it will be a long year.
Jarka Runs, I don't understand your reasoning. IF ASU beats Utah,
then how does that make BYU look? If Utah wins the PAC 12, then that 54-10
drubbing won't feel so bad. But if Utah loses the rest of their games... BYU
looks even worse. You always want the teams that beat you (especially the ones
that kill you) to do well.
worf...really?UCF is like BYU playing Weber State. Is this
the team that so many of you have dubbed in the midst of a "historic"
Hmmm I seem to remember Ute fans pumping their chests after beating a
"tough legit" Montana State team. Well UCF is a better team than
Montana High hate to break it to ya. But Heaps needs a lot of work I do admit
Yes, coach you recruited the two best quarterbacks in the state and sat them on
the bench wasting their college careers for a freshman.... Heaps??? Riley
(Logan) lead his team to a state championship (Winning the 5a state champions
earlier in the year). Lark (Pineview) lost in the state championship against
Riley's Logan team. What a waste of great talent!! Hopefully this will open
the eyes of other quarterback recruits. BYU QUARTERBACK=sit on bench, and watch
a freshman try to lead the team.
JohnJacobJingleHeimerSchmidt |Here's Ute logic, A loss to USC is actually
a win cuz they are in the PAC-12 and are better than Ole Miss and Texas.A
win against an SEC team on the road and one point loss on the road to a ranked
Texas team is bad. hmm I don't get it.indycrimson Texas ranked
in the top #25 Utah no ranking soooo I think Texas may be better.crowntownIf BYU is such a pathetic high school team that can't compete
with Hillcrest High, then how does that make the Utes a BCS contender? I can't
wait to see what ASU does to the Utesies, TCU anyone? haaha
Watching this game I thought of dog piles when we were in elementary school, how
juvenile. I bleed Blue and watch as many games as possible, however I have
trouble watching such childish antics. How many good players are injured when
some lame brains dog pile on them? After the fumbled punt and the resulting dog
pile, I had trouble watching the rest of the game. It cost BYU unnecessary
yardage that could have cost the game. There were no more dog pile televised,
maybe Coach Mendenhall told the team to get their head in the game and leave the
playground antics to after the game. Lets try dog piling the apposing
team and not so much each other. Grab that guy with the ball before he runs past
you and at least three others. After all you are wearing the latest gloves that
are "Sure Grip" or are they just to make you look cool? Now lets
play ball and forget the playgrounds fashion show and antics.PLAY
Heaps has been terrible this year. 16 or 34 for 133 yards and a pick is
terrible. I think he is a capable qb, but he has been a big disappointment this
year. Hopefully he can break out against utah state. If not, then I think we
need to try someone else.@sg what schedule are you looking at. TCU isn't
until next month.
Heaps is the spoiled child, people. This is how you perform when you have no
real worry about losing your spot; a sub 50% completion night. Pathetic!Coach, there was a great article right before the season began documenting
perhaps the best athlete to ever play QB at the Y, yes, your school. L-A-R-K,No
Coach M,Play Riley Nelson against his alma mater USU next week!!!
Let's get a REAL QB in there!Thanks!
Blech!! They were lucky to pull this one out they did everything they could to
give it away. This cougar team has some real issues that need to be fixed. Look
for a loss next week and I predict no bowl game by the end of the year.
worf | 11:47 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011Higher ranking doesn't always mean
better. ----------- Absolutely true, see 1984 for
details.BYU finally found a running game but they still don't have a
Division 1 QB. Heaps vs USF QB rating of 74. I can't recall the injured Wynn
ever playing that bad.Congrats to BYU defense for winning their 2nd
game of the season by causing 3 TOs in the 4th.
Dramatic kickoff return for a touchdown changed the momentum and outcome of the
game.Hoffman's return sparked a momentum shift and energized the crowd and the
BYU defense.BYU's special teams and solid hits from the defense made this a very
special victory over an excellent and fast Central Florida time. George O'Leary
was denied victory #100 but his team brought out the best of BYU.
BYU needs a quarterback that actually leads the team, and the team respects.
They put Riley in when their trailing and have never given him a fair chance.
Instead they risk everything for a high school QB whose agent and mama got his
name out as the best QB in the world?? Now he's going pro!! HMMMM...don't
It's time to bench Heaps. He is NOT the qb of the future. And why in the heck
does BYU continue to recruit short qbs? Heaps is a mess. Basically he has under
performed, or maybe this is the best he can do in the last 4 games. TCU is next.
Well, BYU will be blown away. This is a very very bad team. The offensive
coordinator is way over his head. Frankly Doman should be doing his job not from
the sidelines but from the box. I didn't watch the game, but wow, I wasn't all
that surprised by the overall performance of this team. This team is such an
embarrassment that my support for Blue is about to shift to Red. Go Utes! That
team and its coaches understand winning. They don't choke. BYU chokes. And no
this couldn't have been a fun game to watch. If if wasn't for special teams this
would have and should have been a loss. Bottom line, the Y stinks.
I think that Bronco would be smart to tell everyone that every starting job is
up for grabs and that whoever performs will start. That way if Heaps doesn't
step it up, give it to Lark. I also think that David Foote should play more at
RB. The guy is a stud. Did anyone else see how hard he ran on that 4th down
option play? The offense is also WAY too conservative. Enough of the 5 and
out routes! There is nothing wrong with getting a first down on 1st or 2nd down!
Every time we threw the ball over the middle we completed for big gains. Those
are the throws that Heaps can make, so let him throw them. I hate how we have
the ball and the lead late and we play not to lose instead of playing to win. We
go 3 and out and give them another chance to win. Too much pressure on the D. Go
for the dagger, thats the difference between and good and bad team.
Texas is ranked #18.Utah isn't ranked.By the end of the
year BYU will be 10-2 while Utah will be lucky to be 6-6.
Crowntown1You are partly correct. BYU fans do live in denial about their
team. Something wrong with that? Fan is short for fanatic. Being a fan is an
escape from reality in what should be a small aspect of life. It is healthy.
What is unhealthy is when someone cares that fans of another team support their
own team. Haters are not happy because they can't stand seeing fans of a team
they don't like enjoying any moment. It is unhealthy to live wishing for others
to be unhappy.
So ow after a fluke win the BYU fans, although once humbled last week, are now
back to claiming superiority in their football team. It appears that they are
questioning the validity of the Ute wins and such.Does 54-10 @ Provo
ring a bell? That score shows superiority. I hope we don't schedule
BYU anymore. We don't need them and I'm tired of their fan twists to make their
team sound great.Oh, and long live Jake Hypes, Utah State's 12th
Christmas came early.Having literally been on the sidelines of the
Nielsen/Wilson/McMahon transitions I can say this Heaps guy either hasn't got it
or the play calling just stinks. What an awful, unimaginative looking set of
offensive calls. I don't remember BYU football offensive side being as
flat-looking and inept as this year is to this point. Something big has to
happen to shake it up or the year will turn out .500 or lower.
According to BYU logic from last week Utah didn't win, BYU lost the game with
turnovers.Sooooooooooooo......BYU didn't win the game, FCU
lost it with turnovers. You have to love cougar logic.Onward to a
BCS bowl game cougars, onward.
crowntown, what's up with you dude? A couple of obviously younger posters have
said something that might resemble gloating but your broadly sweeping comments
about BYU football community being in denial are way off target. This board
reflects a fair amount of pessimism (even excluding Ute trolls) and some degree
of extremely cautious hope that things can turn around. Not really much here in
the way of chest-thumping. Folks are recognizing there are yet another 6 six
games at risk.
The whole BYU football community lives in denial about their team. And what's up
with these guys writing things on their arms or is that considered a BYU inkjob?
Now that the U beat the Y; there is nothing else for the U to play for.
I have been following BYU since the late 70's and for the first time I am not
sure if they are better than USU. Heaps' attribute is his strong arm, but if he
is not on target how else will he beat the oppositon? By his legs? By his
gutsy play? Not! BYU is lucky they are not 0-4. They are 2-2 because the
defense is helping score points. Bring on Lark please.
Sorry got my math wrong, C-USA is not an AQ... but Hoffman still returns for a
TD!BYU 1-2 against AQutah 0-1
In spite of a number of sacks on the UCF QBs, their 318 yards on 21-31 attempts
(68%) for over 10 yards per attempt shows how poor of a job Bronco's defensive
scheme did in putting pressure on their QBs.Continue to do this,
Bronco, and more than two losses are in store for BYU.Bad Bronco.
Bad Bronco. Bad, bad, bad Bronco!Sorry, just had to rant on a bad
WORFY...dude...please....1. Utah beat and embarrassed BYU last week
54-10.2. Texas beat BYU 17-16.3. Utah and Texas are not scheduled
to play each other this year. How are you asserting who is better
between two teams who will not play one another. Utah v. Texas...Maybe you have some powers we don't know about! If you do can you answer the
age old question??? Who would win if Superman fought Mighty Mouse....no
Good to see the win.I hope the Coaches figure out a way to get
Heaps to quit being more concerned about avoiding being hit than making sure the
pass is good. UCF's Back up QB had more grit and determination than Heaps. i just don't see the fire inside the Heaps man. He lacks the will to
win. It's like he focuses on executing instead of beating the opposition. wonder
where that focus comes from....
@ worfok worf, you can pretend byu is a better team if it helps you
feel better about yourself. Seriously dude, when you get back to
reality and leave the fantasy world your living in. You will see that Utah is a
much better football team on both sides of the ball than byu. Your QB is
pathetic and should be sitting on the bench. Doman is not an OC, he is just an
Icon of a past byu QB. The best OC byu has ever had was Norm Chow (Now coaching
at Utah).Let me ask you this worf: you are claiming that Utah got
lucky last week with 7 turnovers. Don't better football teams cause turnovers
and capitalize on them? If you take out all of Utah's touchdowns that were
direct results from a byu fumble (heaps first fumble, Riley fumble, and the
kickoff return fumble). There are 33 points on the scoreboard unaccounted for.
Explain to me how Utah scored 33 points?.............. Let me help you out on
this one. Utah did it with their offence. Instead of making a fool out of
yourself worf, just admit that Utah is the better team this year.
Uteology | 11:16 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011 Fort Worth, Texas Both
Texas and UCF are better teams than the utes---proving last week was a fluke.
Don't make the world laugh at you.Higher ranking doesn't always mean
better. Every week, some ranked team loses to a lower. You can't sell utah as
better than Texas. No way!
I'm glad BYU got some breaks on special teams and a few turnovers because that
was shaping up to be another embarrassing loss at home. Wow! Jake
Heaps is a terrible quarterback! I'd be pulling my hair out if I were a BYU fan.
But I guess that's their guy and they are sticking with him. Of course now that
they are entering the Hostess Cupcake league play he will be able to get some
stats. Well BYU faithful, enjoy what is left of this season. I'm
bored and checking out at this point. On second thought I'll tune in to see the
Utah State game, but then that's it. Your team just doesn't have much to
@Carson....I don't know Carson, a win is a win. I will take lucky
and a win any day over a loss. The defense forced the turnovers. That just might
have to be how it is played this year. I am not going to complain when we win.
Why do that? I just hope the defense comes to play for the rest of our games
because the offense is going to struggle. Who knows, we just might get lucky
BYU, thanks for messing up my prediction that you will be 1 and 10 this year.
Keep in mind though, that you are not a good football team.
Sportsfanforlife how many times has Utah played a weak schedule Byu has played
some tough teams. So are you saying even with Utah on there that still made it a
weak one Utah played Montana State for their opener and Byu opened up at Ole
Miss and the U really should've murdered Montana State if your going to talk
smack about the Y's schedule just remember how tough Utah's was both of those
BCS years great game Cougs the offense still needs alot of work and will
somebody pleas tell me why all of Heaps passes are way off when he passes to
Jacobson they usually are all on when they go to Hoffman or Apo
You didn't win you just got real lucky!
Wasn't UCF the #1 pass defense in the nation or something? #3 in points allowed?
I'd say BYU at least played okay. It's not championship quality, but who cares.
It was a W.
congrats byu. a gritty defense that locks up when it needed to won you that
game tonight.whatinitformei was listening to the game on
the radio for the first half and wrubell said that sampson's sack in the first
quarter was byu's first sack of the year. is that true? i took notice as the
game rolled on that byu's defensed seems set up to stop the run. i don't know
anywhere else you'll find defensive ends that weigh 300+ lbs. lack of
linebacker blitzes adds into it as well, but even though byu plays the run
pretty well i'd feel pretty comfortable passing on them all day (all except the
last play of course).all in all, good showing by the defense and
special teams. riley stevenson was the best player on offense tonight. i'd
take kyle van noy on me team anyday.
Better, but we still have a lot to work on. Stay focused Cougs.
@worf | 10:20 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011Both Texas and UCF are better teams

you. ---------- ----------- ---------According to

Worf, you're right, it was a lucky 54-10 winCongrats to the Cougs
winning the game despite being out gained by 140 yards. They won the turnover
battle which proved to be the difference.
I think Worf is a Ute troll posing as a delusional BYU fan.Heaps
just does not have it. It is time to cut out losses and look at another QB. I
am convinced more than ever now that he does not have the accurate arm that
everyone has hyped about. Our pass defense is showing a trend of
vulnerability. Our D-backs are out of position a lot. Sorenson had a rough
night. He is a great hitter and contains the run very well but his pass coverage
is very suspect. He is more like a linebacker than a strong safety. More missed
tackles tonight than previous games. Defense played well enough to win but not
great. We were lucky to win this game, but I'll take it.
Yeah there is some frustration with the offense. Heaps doesn't look great, but
we got the win, plus even though we are not great so far, I have been able to
watch every game so far, awesome. Good game cougars, keep up the progress.
worf is really stepping up his game. A couple of more delusional comments and
worf will be in the same league as Chris B and Duckhunter. BYU strategy for
winning: hand the ball off and keep Jake Heaps' hands off the ball.
In spite of great defensive plays that helped to win the game, BAD BRONCO!He still plays vanilla defenses most of the game. Doesn't put pressure
on QBs.And when the 2nd string QB came in, Bronco gave him a pass,
er, allowed him to pass. Heh.Ridiculous vanilla defense for the
fourth straight game against inexperienced or injured QBs.BYU's QB
in every game this year has gotten WAY more pressure than BYU's been giving the
opposing QBs.The few times BYU's bothered to put pressure on
opposing QBs, it's generally been successful. So Bronco, whats wrong? Why be so
nicey-nice to opposing QBs?Seeing this game live really irked me
when the defense kept skrewing up. You could see so many of the big plays coming
that UCF made tonight. And conversely, you could see so many of BYU's
offensive plays were going to fail by the way UCF's defense was lining up.Guess Doman upstairs didn't help, either.Still, glad for the
win against a pretty good team. Without the breaks for BYU, UCF would easily
Worf....How old are you?
Aggies will roll the Y.
@all byu fansso now that byu won when it had turnovers it was a legit win?
the same kinda win utah had last week when they murdered you on your own field
and now all of a sudden byu made the plays to win. LOL byu fans are such a joke
it gets more and more ridiculous every week. and quit sayin you're gonna have a
better schedule than utah at the end of the year. so what you play the worst
schedule in college football.. lol
Dear BYU,Thanks to your special teams and some decent plays by the
defense, you won the game tonight. The Defense still gave up 400 yards of
offense and the QB situation should keep every BYU fan up tonight. Keep a
weather eye open for the team way up North. I predict another Aggie beat down
Heaps looks terrible. The ESPN analyst was not impressed with Heaps either. BYU
lucked out but thats what team needs sometimes. The Aggies will be tough.
Chrisb predicted a 31-10 UCF win and he also said BYU can't play with athletic
teams from Florida. He was wrong on both counts. I am sure that since he hates
seeing BYU have success he will find some excuse as to why BYU won. The truth
was that BYU made the plays to win tonight. The defense came up huge and caused
4 turnovers. BYU rose up today and so now you prepare for next week and let's
rise up and get a W next week against USU. Go Cougs!!
@worfyou are completely delusional. we are ALL laughin at you. get real.
byu is not good and neither is texas or ucf. play some LEGIT teams then talka
about utah bein bad cause you barely escape with wins over not good teams. and
you got lucky with this one as you all said utah did cause of the t.o.s GET REAL
Worf..lol...do you need a hug?
BYU fans, please stop saying we're better than the Utes. You're making us look
bad. We got thrashed. On our own field. It was the most embarrassing
performance by any BYU team since we lost 3-0 (and that was in a storm). Well
done Utes. See you next year.
BTW, watching Bronco on the sideline does he have any idea he is at a football
game and not at the Library? Show some emotion already.........it's ok.
worf you the y might have a better record since they are playing in the Big Sky.
54-10 and you still think you have the better team? This not golf worf, the
highest score wins in football. GO AGGIES.....GO UTES...GO WILDCATS!
Heaps had 3.9 yards per pass. Who does that? Good thing they decided to use
Kariya to drag those UCF boys into the endzone.
From Jeff Calls article; BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall doesn't consider tonight's
game a "must-win" situation. "I see this game as a chance to move
forward," he said.So I guess this UCF win isn't that big of a
deal! Its just a move forward.
Sensational night for special teams! What more could we ask for?Special
teams A, Defense B, Offense CThe rebroadcast is playing on BYU tv. This is
not simply a rebroadcast of ESPN. This is a completely different production.
Different announcers, different score strip and different possession arrows.
It's UCF!! You guys barely escaped at home!! BYU fans live in denial about their
own team. There should be absolutely no gloating about today's game. You have
absolutely no Offense and your secondary is horrible.
Pack12fan,By years end, the cougs will have a better win-loss
record. You'll be crying because of the tough schedule. Both Texas and UCF are
better teams than the utes---proving last week was a fluke. Don't make the
world laugh at you.
I want to see Lark in the game. I think that will actually motivate Heaps more
if there is a chance to lose his job. Heaps is the future, but he is not getting
better. The light bulb hasn't fully lit up yet and he needs to have some
competition in order to get the light to shine brighter. Bronco, open up the QB
spot this week and see who TRUELY earns it!
nice games cougs the offensive needs to step iy up
So now we know the recipe for success, have the defense and special teams score
and keep Jake Heaps and the offense off the field.
worf, When you get beat as bad as byu did last week, the best team actually did
win. As for tonight, Van Noy is a stud as are the kickers. Next week the
Aggies come rolling in and we will see what happens?
Bench Heaps; start Lark.
I loved how Sorensen caught that UCF guy from behind, how Hoffman executed the
kick off return, and how Van Noy closed in on the QB at the end. So much for
"no speed or athleticism".
Dave S | 9:55 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011 Holladay, UT Wow way to
struggle to beat Montana State. By the way, Wynn is definitely not the man!! I'm
sure the Aggies would be their licking their chops to prove they could beat the
utes and last year was a fluke. It's a good thing you have Cal and Washington on
your schedule this year. Those two just might prove to be L's for you.
Tom in CA 10:02Great analysis! After last week's terrible
(understatement) game, it's good to see the Cougars come back less than a week
later and get the win. Still, there are lots of things to work on and we all
know Utah State will be hungry to get the win in Provo next week. If
Heaps can only find a way to turn the switch in his game. Big
Hey Worf,54-1054-10Could have been worse had Whit
not pulled the starters. I thought Texans knew football.
Glad Doman was not on the sidelines tonight. He needs to use his tight ends more
and he needs to understand where that first down marker is on third and long,
but he'll get better. Might be a wise idea to start the former USU back up for
next Friday's game. Heaps needs to mature, he needs to learn some more things
about true leadership. Plus, I didnt care for some of the kid's media quotes
this past week.
Congrats to BYU's special teams. They came through for the victory. Heaps is
still horrible but the run game is improving. Take a deep breath as everyone
realizes how fortunate the home team is tonight.
Great game Cougars. Not pretty on offense but enough to win and the defense
looked awsome other than a few completely blown coverages. BYU had the speed to
catch the receivers though. BYU's defense hits hard.
PAC-12 Envy | 9:28 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011 Taylorsville, UT BUtah
not the better team.BYU gave them the game with turnovers.Sometimes the best team doesn't win
The Cougars won in spite of Heaps. He is not the real deal. The Defense was
very good, but not stellar. Van Noy is a play maker. Why did Riley Nelson
come in that first time? The kicking game was outstanding. The O line
was a little better, hence a better running game.Good win, but nothing to
gloat about, by any stretch.Utah State will be licking their chops -
better watch out.
My observations:1. Kyle van noy is a beast and plays his best when
the game is on the line. Playmaker.2. A healthy Zed mendenhall makes
a big difference in the run game.3. Heaps missed two easy touchdowns
to DiLuigi and Jacobsen because he always throws bullets and hasn't learned when
to throw a touch pass.4. Eason should not be starting. Sampson and
Hadley are much better players. Let one of them play field corner.I'll give the offense credit for 1 1/4 tds tonight. The other 1 3/4 goes to
special teams. Big plays tonight. I loved watching Hoffman run one back tonight!
Wow way to struggle to beat Central Florida. By the way Heaps is definitely not
the man!! I'm sure the Aggies are licking their chops to prove last year wasn't
a fluke. It's a good thing you have Idaho and San Jose on your schedule this
year. Those two just might prove to be W's for you.
duh....when BYU turned the ball over and lost ---> BYU said we
gave the game away.when UCF turned the ball over and lost --->
Will BYU say UCF gave the game away?now, do you see?when
Utes turned the ball over and lost ---> Kyle would say we did not take care
of the ball; the other team played great, etcnow, do you see the
Nice win by the Cougs tonight. It was the type of game that will keep the fans
and non-fans coming back for more.
Hey Chrissy B, can you please hop on and tell us the outcome of this game again,
I think I forgot. Didn't you say 31-10 Central Florida or something like that?.
As for the BYU fans dying on this post about the offense, give it up, we won so
lets go fight for another day. Time to worry about USU, this game is in the bag.
And the other Utah fans who will do everything to find an excuse as to why we
won instead of losing.....get a life!
It's to the point now where you actually want BYU's defense in the game. They
have the better chance at scoring then the offense does.
@worf"Cougs beat a team better than the utes "You
didn't play Florida State you know... BYU was outgained 399-260.
They did get two offensive touchdowns (albeit with short field) and at least the
running game existed this game. Fortunately the defense made the plays they
needed, otherwise this could've easily been an overtime game.
Unimpressed even in a win. Lucky tonight, but need to bench Heaps to even make
it to a bowl game this year. Love BYU, but not the stubbornness to stick with
someone who has yet to prove anything. Very frustrated
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a
different result. BYU isn't going to beat anyone worth bragging about as long as
Heaps is the quarterback. Barely beat a team that will likely have a 6 win
season. What has to happen for Lark to have a shot at throwing the ball to the
wide open receivers?
What turnover ever costs the other team anything? I find it hilarious to hear
repeatedly free turnovers... Don't you mean free points? That is the only thing
that happens is free points as a result of careless giveaways....
lanius | 9:24 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011 Woods Cross, UT "If it wasn't
for those turnovers this would have been a different game, UCF just gave away
the game - sound familiar?" No, it doesn't. BYU's offence had
three unforced turnovers to go with four that were forced by Utah. Last week,
for the first time, I saw BYU's defense quit.Tonight, BYU's defense
forced three turnovers. Bronco's defense saved the game and is several levels
ahead of the offense. The runners and O-line pushed the team over the winning
@Cougars --Best Little Brothersyou said, Ok...Let me be the first to
ask...will BYU coaches and players say that UCF gave the game to them and that
BYU did not win the game?Well, let me ask you, will Utah coaches and
players say that BYU gave the game to them and that Utah did not win the game?
Just wondering since you have such great football knowledge.
nice spelling dude lol..... defense and offense both have S's..... come on dude!
Put in Lark for once. Heaps almost gave this game away again. He's the best
player for the other team. I'm surprised that the defense doesn't just stack the
box and take their chances with the pass. Heaps can't complete anything past 5
yards anyways, if that.... Pathetic
Dear Dektol, apparently your are somewhat ignorant of why BYU is playing
tonight. Tomorrow is the Annual Women's Conference and BYU has played on the
Friday night before this conference for many, many years, so there will be no
conflict with the sisters attending the conference. It will always be that way,
just as they do not play on the first Saturday in October because of General
conference. Please before you make such silly statements find out what is
going on in life first.
Comments by the Broadcast booth:Joe Tessitore (former QB) Heaps is
becoming careless and not taking the time to set up. Poor decisions.Other Commentator: Poor tackling by BYU.When Daniel Sorenson had
to run down the receiver the replay showed clearly and was duly noted by the
Commentators that both Sorenson and Eason were looking in the backfield and not
paying attention to the potential receiver. Thanks to Sorensons's speed he was
able to stop a TD. No sound fundmental football to have both BYU guys not
paying attention to their position needs. Defense kept us in the
game and created turnovers, which we were able to capitalize on.Way
to go Justin Sorenson with your foot. Kicked the air out of the ball. Really
pinned them back. The one ref completely missed the Unsportsmanlike
conduct on the out of bounds tackle right in front of him. Ref's need to be
able to see what is happening in front of them.
laniusutah would have won the game even without the turn overs, we can
admit that. the turn overs in this game were mostly forced. # byu defense
Well this is absolutely no excuse for not benching Heaps,BYU won in spite of
BYU not the better team.UCF gave them the game with turnovers.Sometimes the best team doesn't win.
Yes! Cougs beat a team better than the utes and proving last week was a fluke.
BYU's defense played a great game! It was a fun game to watch, and
the BYU lines, and running backs did well. UCF took away BYU's passing game.Fun game to watch. Congrats Cougs.
I've about had it with Heaps, way disappointing!!! Thank goodness for Van Noy
If it wasn't for those turnovers this would have been a different game, UCF just
gave away the game - sound familiar?
@Dektol Really? Is that the best you've got? They are talking
about the Big 12 picking up BYU. There was a reason they ran away from the MWC.
Boise had nothing to do with it.
Ok...Let me be the first to ask...will BYU coaches and players say that UCF gave
the game to them and that BYU did not win the game?hahaha
Please do not say that had anything to do with Heaps- nice to get the win but we
still need help at QB Well maybe a few other places as well
Love the Defense! We've seen backup qb's in every game so far.
Where's Chris B. He is normally here to predict BYU's demise before the game is
Hey jakey, if it wasn't for turnovers this game would have been much different
don't you think bud?
