Smashing Byu was awesome but staying focused and representing the Pac 12 South in the championship game is a lot more important,(sorry but true Y fans).
Since the arrogant, frantic and emotional coug coaches, administrators, and fans can never admit when they're wrong -- even in spite of video evidence to the contrary -- they'll continue to cling to their cock-&-bull story that Uale DIDN'T lead with this head in his 1st-qtr helmet-to-helmet endzone collision with Devonte Christopher.
Go Knights!
GO UTES!!!
The ESPN announcers were right when it happened, it was absolutely a helmet to helmet hit. Similar hits were called on both teams over the past 2 rivalry games. I'm just glad neither player was hurt, because it certainly didn't have an effect on the outcome of the game. Overall, I thought the game was well officiated.
It did have an oucome on the game, the score would have and should have been 61-10.
And knowing how by quits when there down by 2 td's, the score would have likely been 61-0. Because that touchdown would have put them down by 2 TD's. Once they were down 30-10 "fans" started leaving.
Too bad. We have to give BYU credit for keeping it close (54-10)
Any one who watched the game knows that Utah graciously ran the clock out in the redzone. Could have scored or at least kicked a field goal.
For me, I will always remember the 54-10 score being not at all representative of how much utah dominated that game. I will recall it as 57-10.
Why not just replace Montana State with BYU?
Utes need a non-threating mid-major to open up the season with, they seem to be rusty every year in the first game. BYU would be a good opponent to practice on before the real games start.
I do have to say that we got a make up call later in the game. Uale's pass interference call should not have been flagged. Just saying. ....
Kosta, what game were you watching? If Dres had been able to get in the air, he may or may not have been able to get a hand on it, but it certainly would have been deemed "catchable." Drilling a guy in the back as soon as he leaves his feet in my book is at the very least a pass interference, but more appropriately an illegal hit on a receiver. Uale rivaled Heaps for the most media time before the game and both of them just played awful, one dirty.
Sorry Fes,
launching yourself, leading with your head, and hitting the other guy in the head is a penalty, and that is what Uale did.
