Liljenquist would be a great candidate against Hatch. He's already headed up some landmark legislation in Utah and it would be great to see what he can do on a national level.
36 years in Washington is too long for anyone. It's time for Senator Hatch to retire and let someone like Liljenquist take over.
Frank Pignanelli & LaVarr Webb, Deseret News, here did one heck of a good job, but they left out Romney and Huntsman.
How about the whole Nation starts categorizing Utah's private political world with some appropriate labels added to it as well?. Those Immigration Activists. State Rep. Stephen Sandstrom and Rep. Chris Herrod received tremendous publicity in the immigration wars. Thus, they are being touted by tea party and anti-immigration activists as potential challengers to Hatch, Herbert or as congressional candidates, depending on how the lines are drawn. That Car Guy. The apparent leader of the tea party movement in Utah, David Kirkham, who runs Kirkham Motorsports, is on the short list as a possible Hatch challenger, but he's also considering a run against Herbert. Kirkham has a natural constituency among tea party Republican delegates. His candidacy could galvanize the conservative movement and motivate passionate tea party activists to attend precinct caucuses next March. This could impact every Republican race.
I love this stuff.
Thanks guys.
I would love to see Liljenquist challenge Hatch. Hatch has been in Washington for far too long. Time for a fresh face with fresh ideas and new solutions!
