Unfortunately, RB Matt Asiata (Hunter HS/Utah) was released from the Minnesota Vikings practice squad just prior to the game. Good luck, Matt, you'll get on somewhere soon!
Rivalry week fuel: 21 Utes presently on NFL rosters to 12 Cougs. Expect the trend to continue!
Nice to see so many talented athletes pass through the state, many more to follow.
I was pretty sure Max Hall was waived, guess the arizona newspapers were wrong.
And what't the deal with Harvey Unga? Is he on a roster or not?
Searched and found the answer from a CBS news report:
"Harvey Ungas absence no longer may be a factor with the 80-man roster: The Chicago Bears have placed the running back on the reserve/left squad list, according to a league source.
That means they have a roster exemption for the BYU running back. Unga cannot be paid while on the list."
He missed a week of training camp for the birth of his second child and then left again at the end of pre-season for a "personal matter". Since the team didn't even give him a locker, they don't think he is coming back.
We wish him well.
What a difference a quarterback makes to Austin Collie.
What about Tim Toone? The last I heard, he was on the Lions' practice squad.
