I don't know how much Pawlenty's endorsement is worth at this point. There is a reason after all that he is no longer running.
And I don't think that Romney's religion is going to be as much of a hurdle as everyone is predicting. What will be a larger problem is his record, and trying to draw differences between himself and President Obama. After all Obamacare was modeled after Romneycare. Romney has been given huge accolades in the past by several gay rights groups for his support of gay marriage and adoption. Romney has been in favor of climate change aka global warming legislation. Romney supported Obama's stimulus package in 2009.
Basically, when you look at his record, there really is no policy difference between Romney and Obama. And no endorsement will change that.
