Comments about ‘Brad Rock: For Utes, close just isn't good enough anymore’

It wasn't ever "close" and it was obviously not good enough. It will take a few years to compete at that upper levels of this conference.

I just hope Utah played well enough to sway a 4 star recruit or 2 that was at the game sitting in Utah seats to come to Utah instead of USC. I don't know if that would count as a moral victory but it would make a nice consolation prize.

The difference in this game was USC's 5 star star recruits on offense (Barkley, Tyler and Woods).

The Utes proved they can play with anyone. The two toughest places to play in the Pac-12 are probably at USC and at Oregon. They came into the coliseum and had a chance to tie in the final minute -- proof that they can acclimate to this conference. (btw, how is that not 'close')

Next year the Trojans come to Utah -- when was the last time?

One fanbase doesn't accept Poppinga victories. The other adores them.

Fun game being in the stands and great effort by the Utes. Utah was in the game right up to the blocked field goal. In the future we will close these games out.

Are you counting out ASU? I wouldn't. At best the 3rd best team in a division and hoping USC wins out because they can't play in championship. Back door hopes, take the win anyway you can. Look at your reasoning, you are pointing out all of the u can win without having to play anyone.
