"For Saturday's game at Ole Miss, BYU is favored by three points despite the fact the Cougars are playing on the road against a team from the Southeastern Conference."
BYU is favored against an SEC opponent in SEC country.
On the other hand, Utah is a big under dog playing at USC in week 2.
Come September 18th, BYU will be 3-0, and Utah will be 1-2. Bank on that!
Go Cougars!
Good to hear that everyone is on the same page. Bronco has learned his lesson I guess.
It's great to be a Cougar! This will be a fantastic season!
This isn't an article on Utah - why bring them up? Some BYU fans are adopting the little brother mentality. Embarrassing.
Win or lose, and I think BYU will win, I expect to see much better execution on both offense and defense this year. Coaches expect it and the players expect it from themselves. I am anxious to see the other team play Thursday night also. Looking forward to seeing how their offense comes together.
Last time I recall, Coaches and Players are always on the same page......isn't this the sole purpose of having practice???
Can't wait til the WAC play starts, BYU will throttle the WAC.
Ole Miss 24 BYU 21
Only time will tell about the various changes. I'm certainly hoping for a big Coug's football season and that the vast changes, and vast they are!, jell together into success. Go Cougs!
8 easy wins. I like it.
In not bringing someone up and saying they will start 1-2 that is making an assumption that the game against Montana State is a guaranteed win... Wouldn't it be a shocker if the MSU game was a loss and the USC game was the win?
Ole Miss 30
byu 17
Utah 45
Montana state 10
I never lost hope! I just accepted that it will take some time.

The utes were mentioned in the article, so the comment by Cougar_Independence was neither embarrassing or indicative of a little brother mentality. Me thinks you protest too much.
Thank you for your prediction crisb. That just about locks the double digit win for BYU. If I were a real Ute fan I would ask you not to predict Ute wins. Your usually wrong.
Ole Miss is young, but their coach is experienced and earns, I think, $2.5 million a year, and when he coached at Arkansas, he regularly went on the road and beat LSU and Alabama. The good news for Y fans is some of these SEC teams are happy to score 10 points.
Cougar Independence
Ole Miss is the worst team in the SEC and they one a few games last year
USC is on the of the best teams in the PAC 12
Big difference
Wow Jenny - since when is "one" a verb?
Mr Bass and Chris B:
Ol Miss will not score 30 points on Sat.. They will be lucky to score half that. Question is; Can BYU score more the 20.... you said it....BYU gets 21, I say more.
We (except Chris B) all have great hopes for the year. I am excited to see what spring practice, summer workouts and fall camp has done for the Team. The first game will tell us what we want to know. At this point, I have to believe that BYU will be great.
It is a shame that Chris B will have so little success to look forward to in Utah and so little opportunity to rejoice in BYUs lack of success this year!
MSU - 24
utah - 3
Common Tom, MSU will not beat Utah. utan has been one of the best (top 25) programs in the country the past 10 years! Now, I do believe Utah will struggle to have a winning season. Their final game agaist CU will determine that and injuries (especially to Wynn) will be a factor. Now Utah will lose to BYU on 9/17 by at least 17 points. But please be fair to the Utes, theyt are a very good team, MSU is not, and BYU is great!
