Someone should drvie him south about 50 miles, he'd see some play makers there....

@ Maxie

Play talkers reside 45 miles to the South, not play makers.

Maxi,

How many PLAY MAKERS has the Y had the last 15 or so years, or even on their team this year? I think the Utes who have had 4 Top 20 picks in the NFL draft since 1994 have had more play makers than the Y has. Even the other players that were drafted after the 1st round, the Utes have had more. Like MAFU said, you guys have Play Talkers. Ones who can only talk about going to a BCS game, or ones talking about playing and winning a national championship, when they have yet to even sniff and undefeated season, or a BCS game. That comes first. Just ask the UTES and TCU who have had 2 undefeated seasons the last 7 years, and BCS wins if they made it to a NC game. Now you will have a harder time and as independent getting there. It is better than the Mtn Worst, dont get me wrong, but there are not any Play Makers 50 miles south of SLC. The only one is Jimmer, and he is gone.

Duckhunter,

That is a pretty bold statement. We already know you aren't very educated when it comes to football, even Bronco said so. So I'll just let that ignorant post go without a rebuttal. You probably said (or thought) the same thing last year and then byu went 7-6. Keep those predictions coming.

You said - "Someone should drvie him south about 50 miles, he'd see some play makers there..."

You could be on to something there. With UVU having no football program there might be some hidden talent walking around that campus that would love a crack at playing some football.

Kyle Whittingham looking for playmakers:

He should start with finding a division 1 quarterback who is capable of playing full-time.

@ Duckhunter you're funny. "Not one offensive player from the Utes would start at the Y" Is that because you guys enjoy having slow receivers and No running game? or maybe those blue tinted glasses that you wear, just make it look like you have fast receivers and a good running game.
Whatever the case, your a little delusional.

You drink WAY too much of the kool aid that DesNews feeds you. I know you don't believe that statement. I could go through and name those who would easily start over BYU's 'strong' offense, but arguing with you is like arguing with a 5th grader.

You're right though, it will be painfully obvious to you in about a month about how wrong you are.

DeVonte Christopher and Brian Blechen are going to blow up this year, they will wreak havoc on opposing teams all season long, mark it down. Freshmen Dres Anderson, Eric Rowe, and Nate Fakahafua will also make some noise this season with their big play ability.

Good luck covering BYU's "slow" receivers on September 17th.

As for Utah's running backs. Don't you have to have a good offensive line to have a good running game?

And isn't it even more imperative, that you have to have a QB who can throw the ball in order for a receiver to light up anybody?

Well I see some of you disagree but none of you listed one single player from utah's offense that would start over any of BYU's. If you disagree then please list them as I am interested to know who they are. I personally couldn't find one although I think there are a couple that would be in the rotation at BYU but no clear cut starters.

I'll wait to hear who they are.

I'll play. I would take any one of the U's WR any day. Devonte, Dunn and Dres Anderson. I know you think Apo catching a pass over horrible DBs in practice looks pretty good but he is unproven at best.

Now let's talk defense. Give me one defensive play maker on byU's whole team. Oops, that's right, there aren't any.

Can't wait, can't wait

re: utahcountyute

Yes, let's talk defense. What is your excuse that BYU's defense last year (yes ... last year) finished the year ranked higher than utah's.

utah's defense better be stellar this year to prevent a lot of blowouts 'cause we all know the ute offense won't be scoring many points.

By the way, is the mantra for the utes this year, a 'step forward' ? I'm getting very tired of hearing kyle repeat himself every day looking for the utes to take a 'step forward'.

Duckhunter you may be right. Devonte would, but he wears earrings, so he wouldn't be allowed on the team. Chaz Walker would be far and away the best linebacker, but his hair is too long. John White IV could run circles around DiLuigi, but he says curse words sometimes. Blechen has facial hair. As do nearly all of the other starters for the superior Utes team. Of the U players who are BYU-appropriate, probably none of them could START over your guys, but if you really think Bergstrom (Outland candidate) is worse than your right tackle, Walker (Lombardi candidate) is not better than your middle linebacker, Christopher (Biletnikoff candidate) is not as good as any of your starting receivers, just to name a few, tell me right now for everyone else to witness. We're not even talking about who the better team is right now, just your pride at stake.

Duckhunter,

Tony Bergstrom, John Cullen, Tavita Stevens, John White, Tauni Vakapuna, Jake Murphy, Kendrick Moeai, Dres Anderson, Devonte Christopher, and Reggie Dunn wouldn't just start but they would be 1st team all conference for byu. As for the QB, we'll see if heaps can play as well as Wynn this year.

Keep thinking your team is that much better. It will make the Utah victory that much sweeter.

StGtoSLC
SALT LAKE CITY, UT

Hahaha yeah Classless that's what is great, Jake Murphy really would start there, but he'll likely be anywhere from 2-4 on the depth chart at Utah. So duck: foot, meet mouth.

------------

If you mean YPG then Pitt was #8, Kent State #10, BYU #24, Utah #27, Oregon #34, and Auburn #60. Now if you want to talk PPG that's another story. Just because you had 78 less total yards does not make BYU a better defense, see scoreboard for deatails.

Last years defense was the worst Ute defense since 2007, yet the defense won 3 games for Utah (Pitt, SDSU, and BYU).

Our entire receiving and running back corps (1-3 string) would start at BYU.

Do the cougars even have any players at those two positions? I sure can't name any.
