Nothing but good here.

Sources are reporting that NBC is paying MLS $24 million for the rights to those 38 games...that's on top of the $48 million they're already getting from ESPN. Remember, this is a league where the salary cap is $79.2 million -- not per team, that's for the entire league.

Dramatically increasing revenue? Check. Costs under control? Check.

The "MLS will be gone in 10 years" crowd is awfully silent today...

I thought it was 48 games they were going to televise? Oh well more exposure is always better.

At 24 million it sounds like MLS is still a bargain. I hope the network will take the effort to make the games look good on the television also, with good camera work and a good quality picture. The better the game looks on television the more viewers you will get. If it is some grainy picture that has one camera swinging from side to side, with two monotone announcers that sound like they are sitting in a barrel, than you will only get the ultra faithfull to tune in.

I've been waiting for Fox Soccer Channel to be available in HD on Comcast. I already get Versus and NBC in HD so this is a good move in my opinion.

Wow I'm really happy about this. Good news.
