Bill Riley: "I'm looking forward to bringing you all the action this fall
on game day and sharing some thoughts in this space weekly."I
bet he is, since the ONLY action for the Utes this year will be on the radio
...Bill's gonna have a record number of people tuning in this year (except for
that one game on Sept. 17th against the good ol' boys in blue...you're welcome,
Ute fans :) Go Cougars!
@true cougpreoccupied with the Utes much?
@T-MacAbsolutely, I eat, sleep, and drink Utah and have a big
pitcher of red kool-aid in my fridge. My cat's name is Swoop and I called the
dog Whit :)Gotta love them Utes...they're fun to tease and get riled
up so easily. And it sounds like Ute fan are going to get really
'riled' up this year with our good friend Bill Riley!(I know, I
know, that's got to be rated in the top 5 worst puns ever, but I just couldn't
resist :)Go Cougars!
"In fact, the Pac 12 is embarrassingly rich with quarterback talent this
year."Where was Wynn?
"... the dream becomes reality."Well, maybe not so much
"the ... reality," but at least the dream has become an opportunity.
Interesting thought occurred to me as I read the opening paragraphs of this
story. Whittingham and Sarkisian stood out bold and Blue. BYU has
been invited to the Pac 12 after all. What better education and training can
there be but BYU Football?
BYU fans just love the Utes. They comment on every article.
byu's ESPN contract: the late-night infomercial of ESPN.
BYU fans on Utah articles: Like flies on steak at a BBQ.
Brave Sir Robbin,I don't know what steak joints you eat at, but I
eat where I don't have to worry about flies in my food. Gimme a ring and I'll
take you sometime, but you can't wear flip-flops.
It's exciting times for the Utes. Good luck in the Pac-12!P.S.
What is it with some BYU fans? You guys really can't leave the Utes alone, can
you? Your comments on the Ute articles come across as jealousy. Come on, guys,
show more class!
Larry Scott of the Pac 12 announced today the creation of a Pac 12 Network which
will begin next season and guarantees national television coverage of every
conference football and basketball game; along with a lot of other sports.
Every FB and BB game will either be televised nationally by Fox, ESPN, or the
Pac 12 Network. I am very happy as a Utes fan, but this does not make
"my" Utes better than the Cougs. Both programs are in much better
situations than either would have ever dreamed of a couple of years ago. They
both have great oppurtunities to become nationally relevant. I wish the
disparaging remarks would cease.
What a big different a conference makes. The MWC wouldn't not be able to pull
this off (hence their troubles with Dish/Directv). It is really amazing what
the Larry Scott has done with the short time he's been the commissioner of the
PAC 12. My Utes are very fortunate to be in this position. No one knew the
potential dollars it would be worth to be a member but come on. This is just
crazy. A potential $30 mil a years versus $1 mil with the MWC. Larry Scott
should run for president. I would definitely vote for the guy. At least he
could get things accomplished!

Sept. 17th is the Cougars only marquee home game this year, courtesy of Utah.
Your welcome Cougar fans!
This is a great opportunity for both the University and the State. It isn't
going to be easy having a winning season in this conference much less winning
the championship, but when you do, it really means something. What an incredible
challenge! We will take our lumps, but I don't think anyone wants to go back.
Coach Whit is the man to lead the team into this new era. I only wish his Dad
had lived to see this day.
@Dutchman, Ernest T. Bass, Brave Sir RobinInteresting comments,
since I've seen each and every one of you comment numerous times on BYU
articles...oh the hypocrisy! :)@Pac 12 loves U "That one game
on Sept. 17th is the Cougars only marquee home game this year, courtesy of Utah.
Your welcome Cougar fans!"Actually, I really feel that the UCF
game is our biggest marquee home game this year since they actually finished
last season ranked in the top 25 in both major polls and are predicted to win
their conference this year...but Utah should be a decent game. Go
True Coug, Actually, Utah St may be your best home game so that you
MAY try to get revenge on the massive beat down they gave you last year. I
wouldn't bet on it though. Your QB has only had a passer rating over 125 once.
Your receivers are notorious for dropping balls, and you have brand new coor in
a lot of key areas. You should be rolling though by the time you get to play
them, since that will be the best game left on your schedule, and you only have
Idaho St, and the creampuffs to look forward to. Have a great time in Oct and
Nov with that amazing home schedule.
Creampuffs = Ucla, Colo, Wash, Az, and yet u will have cream on your face. BCS
gone in three, the Pac10 network, Byu, Texas and others will make it happen.
Mark it down. There will be a playoff system in play in four. BCS will mean
nothing, association will mean nothing, no money nothing. All of the benefits
gone, nada so long/\.
@PapaSmurfUTE "Actually, Utah St may be your best home game so that you MAY
try to get revenge on the massive beat down they gave you last year."That's true, Utah's definitely not going to be as competitive as USU, so
the USU game will probably end up being our best home game. That 'massive' beat
down last year was pretty brutal...imagine that happening 19 straight times!
Poor USU..."Your QB has only had a passer rating over 125
once." Not sure how that's possible since he averaged a QB
rating of 166+ over his last 4 games...but you keep thinking that, man, if it
gives you comfort :)Good to be a Cougar!
Utah, BYU, Pac12, Independence, Heaps, Wynn, blah, blah, blah, blah. Games
played = 0, anybody else tired of flogging the same old nonsense?
Very excited for the Pac 12, to be able to play those awesome schools every
year. Not sure what it will be like our first year, but it will still be fun.
