As someone who coordinated the logistics for the Utah Pride Parade for several years, I have to disagree with you (Utter Nonsense 8.54am). Yes the Pride Parade has a lot of diverse entries but a Beer truck with a banner doesn't exactly have the production value of a Days of 47 float.
Just appreciate the hard work and volunteerism that goes into their parade and let the LDS folks have their day in peace.
[Although I do have a pet peeve with the City. The Pride Parade route gets shorter every year and the SLCPD threatens to pull any group out of the Pride Parade that is over three car lengths from the next entry. Meanwhile you could land the Space Shuttle between some of the Days of 47 entries...just an observation]
The days of 47 parade is ranked in the top 10 parades in the United States. By Top rated parades on the internet.
The parade brings back great memories of my childhood sitting on the corner of 900 S. State as the parade floats turned to go up to Liberty Park. My dad took us kids every year, and no matter how hot it was, we always had fun.
