For once it was nice to have a game with no bogus pk's and red cards. It was like an actual soccer game for once. The man of the match should be the official for not ruining the game.

I was sad to miss the game but couldn't be more happy about the result and enjoyed the story as well. Nice story Edwards.

"who misjudged the shot and had it bounce off his left arm and then roll harmlessly into the back of the net." sounds like it was harmful not harmless, as it scored a goal. Stands look pretty deserted in the first photo. I wonder if there is any chance RSL moves to Phoenix... huge Hispanic population and the US national team attracts 90,000 when they come.

Two thoughts, first Tony Beltran was clearly the man of the match, he shut down Shea and had a nice cross in the first half that Gil just missed.

Second, I really liked the sub that sent Espindola in for Grabavoy. With this sub Gil moved to the attacking midfield role, Espindola was up top with Saborio, Williams and Johnson on the wings, and Beckerman in his usual spot. I would like to see this as a starting lineup. Gil has shown some very good skill on the ball, just lacks that finishing touch. Could Gil be the replacement for Morales we've been looking for?

there were 18,000 fans at the game.
RSL averages more fans per game than the pheonix suns. Hows that for empty?

Great game and solid all around from each player. By the way, the one play where Wingert was able to clear it off the line and save the win, Jackson was offside. Rimando was in front of him with only Wingert behind and no other player to keep Jackson on. Not the easiest call for a LJ, but also not very difficult. Luckily it didn't cost us more points.
