Anywhere to watch this online? Don't think we'll be seeing any NBA action for quite a while...

Would be good to Kanter play against some quailty competition. Hope he players well and we get to see to how good or what areas Enes can improve on

"In 2009, Kanter earned MVP honors (186 ppg, 16.4 rpg) while leading Turkey to a third-place finish at the FIBA Europe Under-19 Championship."

186 ppg is pretty darn good. He definitely should have been the number 1 pick with that stat alone. Oh wait, that was in Europe so it would be metric system. Divide by 10 and it's 18.6 which sounds more reasonable.

This should be good for Kanter, the World Championships are the next highest level of play in the world, if he can do well there he should be able to do well in the NBA. Hopefully this wont be the last time in the next year we get to see him play.

If Kanter has a breakout performance, then we have probably seen the last of Milsap in a Jazz uniform.

Re Anonigma: I wouldn't be surprised if NBA TV caries the tournament, they carried a few Euroleague championship games last season, ESPN 360 also might carry it.

the thing i worry about remember a few years back the kid from spain we drafted instead of parker got injured in a home spain summer game and was never the same. is the jazz protected if kanter hurts his kness or such. but good luck, i love the picks this year. hope we get the strick settled. also next year is supposed to have some great players.

I agree that getting Kanter some quality minutes against many of the best players in the world will be the best thing he can do for himself. The potential to get hurt is always part of the game. This is a teenager who needs development. Go Turkey!

If something is not done soon.... All NBA players are going to be playing in Turkey. Or elsewhere. If they reach an agreement simular to the disaster that already happened and if history repeats itself. I will find another hobby.

Nobody cares. Just another white player for the Jazz. Nothing new, nothing special.

If Jazz fans honestly think he's the answer and prayer to change the Utah franchise, well, they're in for a BIG surprise. He is not. He's overrated.

Great! Experience is needed and he should get plenty playing in these tournaments. Of course there is a possibility of injury, but isn't there that everyday in everyones lives? These young men need conditioning as well as experience so I believe it is a plus-plus! Good luck Enes. You are making the right decision because of the potential for a "lost" season in the NBA this year.

My husband told me that while we were at the gym this morning he saw on the TV monitor that Deron Williams will be playing for Turkey as well. Any confirmation on this?

RE: Portland Trail Blazers

Thanks for the expert input. I will cancel my Jazz tickets because of your input. But just wondering....how much have you seen him play? I have not seen him, at all. What does color have to do with it?

You guys know all about over rated, Greg Oden hahaha

Enes has to be a fine young man. He came to the USA for education and basketball. Even after being ruled ineligible by the NCAA he stayed in school at UK, turning down European Pro dollars. The NCAA still considered him a UK Basketball Player. They counted his credit hours and GPA as if he were an active player. Most of us UK fans believe the NCAA wanted him to return to Turkey, so they could penalize UK with lost scholarships.. He fooled them by having a better than 3 point average. We also believe had he gone to Wash. U, Duke or any NCAA preferred school, the $33,000 his Dad received for education expenses would not have been a problem. It's a good thing Cam Newton, Josh Selby, or Cory Magette didn't go to UK, or we and they would be suspended forever.

Salt Lake City, UT

I think Portland from Sandy is still mad that KOC worked Portland's GM in that trade in 05 that brought DWill to Utah instead of Portland. If Portland's GM would have taken Williams or CP3 maybe Kanter would be going to them instead. I would be a disgruntled fan too if my team's GM passed on Kevin Durrant, and either DWill or CP3 for Webster and Oden.

Can you imagine what the Jazz would look like if we had got stuck drafting Martell Webster? Scary. Is he even in the league anymore? I for one would like to thank Portland for helping the future of the Jazz look so bright.

Re Portland: It's too bad about Roy's knees, looks like the Trail Blazzers are in for another long rebuilding process.

Wow! 186 points per game! He is good!

Roy's knee is fine, thanks for wondering.

And no, i'm not made at KOC, besides Utah doesn't even have Williams anymore anyways, how did he work out for the Jazz anyways? Is he still on the roster?

Roy was already on the team, so why would they select Durant? Of course they would go for the big man in Oden, duh. Every GM would've too if they were in POR's situation.

P.S. - thanks for Wesley Matthews, us Blazer fans love him!

Houston, TX

The new CBA should fix the only advantage POR has over Utah. That would be POR's MS money. Keep shuffling players and GMs, you might luck out one of these years.

In the mean time Utah is implementing a plan that will result in a contender. It may take another 2 years but it will happen. Kanter is a reasonable risk. Bigs are risky. Utah has Favors and Kanter, one or both are going to be very good to great.

In the meantime Utah has Millsap who a lot of teams want and AJ who should be vastly improved (based on his play in the last month of the season).

Utah also has Hayward and Burks with more lotto picks to come. The Utah problems fix over the next year or two.

POR? well they appear to have bad Karma. Maybe if they quit hijacking players from the Jazz things will go better for them?

Utah is a couple of players away from contending. Let's see if Harris adjusts, and if the 3 point shooting and defense improve.

I expect all 3 areas to improve. And the Jazz rookies will improve.

Kanter is not going to see lots of minutes in that tourney, he will be third option behind Asik and Erden. And I agree with PTB that Kanter unfortunately is overrated... Jazz missed on great pick Jonas Valanciunas who is tearing up in World U19 championship now leading everybody by big margin in pts, reb and blk. Read recent tweets from Draftexpress - steal of the draft by far!

Calgary, you have nothing to base your comments on other than the fact he hasn't played in alot of games. The games he has played in he was great.
Why the negative attitude towards the kid? KOC and staff seem to think he can be very good and has the skills, toughness and work ethic they want in a player.
Give the Kid a chance, when he did match up against Jonas, he out played him. I like Jonas, I like his motor and attitude but Kanter has more advanced skills and more bulk to bang down low. Until proven otherwise, I'll trust the Jazz FO , that they did their homework and took the player they think will end up being the best player.

Jonas is tearing up the U19 championships.......didn't Koufos tear up the U19 or U18 championships?? that worked out well. If Kanter tears up the Eurobasket versus NBA players/professional adults then maybe that would somewhat translate.

Kanter has a NBA body today. Jonas-probably needs to put on a few pounds like Koufos did. Can he?????????
